Oh, yes, agree - but at their mainsite/motherload they have not yet lured costumers into expecting otherwise - Only Tease has been here and discussed at PU with some kind of respect for a long time - it's known for the extreme soft.
This site in question is something very different i the sence of 'luring'...LOL

Yeah I am not sure how popular it is, but I like that they give me the option to have it though.

I have spoken to the development team and I am sorry to say that at this time they can not give me a timeframe. The only thing they can tell me is that it is on the list of things to do but there are other things ahead of it and it depends on how long those things take to complete. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer.

Yeah, the archive would need a lot of work in terms of quality and navigational features. But still there are some gems if only the quality wouldn't be that poor compared to what you can get lately.

I have no problem with their editing, if you are talking about overly lengthy picture sets like the ones found by Sean R. lately (over 200 pictures many of them almost identical to the one before and after), I just download the whole works, unzip and view the set through extra large icons (Windows Vista), press control and click on all the superfluous pictures and delete. No more trouble for me than doing some editing online. I, too would like to see a forum or at least room for comments, but as a previous webmaster of the site told me they had considered the idea but judging by nasty and abusive comments abounding in other sites they decided to forget about that particular feature. I also agree with your observation re. hardcore, I have nothing against it but find it out of place at any ATK site. However, they only followed the requests of some subscribers so one can hardly blame them for carrying that material now.

I agree. Other than the model index, it is not so easy to navigate. I think they might be starved for technical know how. Probably starved for resources in general as their update rate is low.

I also understand your desire for custom made downloadable zips. I guess if I was bandwidth limited, I would want the same. It is just as easy for me to hit one button and peruse later, but I get your point.

I checked on this for you Capn. We use to give you the option of downloading a page at a time but we had constant request to be able to download everything at once so we switched. The reason we do not offer both is because takes up twice the server space to do it both ways. Now, I am going to tell you something that we are working on but I can not give you an ETA on it because there are several jobs ahead of it. We are working on a feature that would allow you to select just the pics you want from the set and then download those. Like I said it is on our list of things to get done but there are several projects ahead of it. I hope that helps you understand why we switched.

Ray thank you so much for taking the time to review the site and the photographers. I do read this board everyday so if you need to get me just post and I will see it. Capn is right I do try and stay up on what you guys are saying about us because it is you that we are trying to please. As far as someone from ATKNH commenting, I am it. I will be training today to take over customer support for all of our sites so I will be the one listening from this point on. I will be available 7 days a week to answer questions or just listen. 1) If what you are saying is that you are unhappy that you don't have to download 12-15 separate zip files to get a set, you are crazy. The combined zip was their best improvement in years. Their download speed is great.
2) The fact that you are getting more of what the photographer has shot, say 220 images, rather than having them arbitrarily editing this down to 70 is a benefit, not an annoyance. In the old days, a photographer would load film and 36, 72, shots and that was it. They scanned these in and you got what you got. Now with digital, we can shoot as fast as our strobes recharge. You are getting more, not less. You can always hit the delete button.
Why in the world would you want the amount of content you are paying for cut down??

Definitely agree that they need to show that they're active, and the way to do that is to post the most recent updates, the way successful sites do.
I joined once, over three years ago. I wonder if since Donny got bought out that the site is just one those of left to pick up spare change without any further updating since, well, possibly 2006!

We've tried hard to get discounts to the Karup's sites, but haven't been successful. :(
The "priority" you see listed is based on a few factors. We're actually going to be updating these soon because they aren't 100% accurate.
I did move this site to ASAP priority because it needs a review bad. The problem is we don't have a member pass to this site. Hopefully we can get one for the Karup sites, we've had trouble getting in touch with them recently.
