Unable To Join

Tried signing up here this morning using the $14.99 link from PU/TBP. Everything looked normal, filled out my details on the CCBill join page but it didn't go through. Recieved an email from CCBill:

Dear ......
You recently attempted to subscribe to http://www.averotica.com.
Unfortunately, we were unable to process your transaction at this time for the following reason:
999.
Please, try to use our alternative billing SegPay.com by clicking on the following link:
SEGPAY ALTERNATIVE BILLING

Tried visiting the alternative billing page at Segpay and it just comes up with "Error generating page: Invalid PackageID/URL."

So I don't know if the site is still accepting memberships or if it just the link/offer price from here that is out of date.

lk2fireone (0) Easist solution would be to try using a different computer (if you have access to one) to try joining.

Not a public computer, because you are joining with sensitive data. But a different laptop you own, or a friend's computer.
I don't like entering credit card data on a public computer, even if the site uses https. Because the public computer could be hacked in too many ways, and even a "secure" connection is not secure on a public computer.

From the wiki page, it seems the problem is with your computer, not with the AV Erotica site.

Causes of "Error Code 999"

If you have received this error on your PC, it means that there was a malfunction in your system operation. Common reasons include incorrect or failed installation or uninstallation of software that may have left invalid entries in your Windows registry, consequences of a virus or malware attack, improper system shutdown due to a power failure or another factor, someone with little technical knowledge accidentally deleting a necessary system file or registry entry, as well as a number of other causes. The immediate cause of the "Error Code 999" error is a failure to correctly run one of its normal operations by a system or application component.

I find it hard to believe that this would be caused by an error with my computer, I've never had any problems joining any site through CCBill before. I tried again a couple of days later and got the same result with CCBill so I tried again yesterday using the Epoch with paypal method and that seems to be working ok although that method is charging the full price of $30. It's kind of irritating to see a price of $14.99 displayed but the only sign up method that works charges double the price.

AV Erotica is currently having a sale of $15 for the first month (recurring at $30/month thereafter).
On my computer, I get that offer, whether I am using the PU link to get to AV Erotica site, or bypassing the PU link and going to the AV Erotica site directly.

So I don't know why you are seeing a join for $30 from Epoch.

Computers can be strange.

My suggestion: if you have a friend, try using their computer to try joining.
The wiki article states your problem is normally caused by a person's computer (for the error message your received). I'm not a computer expert. You don't want to believe wiki, fine with me.

If you don't want to use a friend's computer to join,
you could contact CCBill directly:
https://support.ccbill.com/

Tell them you wish to join AV Erotica at the advertised price of $15 for the first month.
CCBill advertises 24/7 access to customer support.

They have a live chat line, https, which is secure.

I don't know if they will be able to identify why you are having a problem with your join.

But they should be able to give you the $15 price that is advertised.
