I'd be happy with what you're getting. I'm paying over twice what you are for less speed. But I live in Silicon Valley where internet costs a ton.

Call them up and telling them you are moving to a competitor. (Check to make sure you have a competitor first) They will connect you to the "customer retention" department. Those people are authorized to negotiate a better deal and will usually offer a pretty nice package for 6 months or so.

Hard to say. It depends somewhat on where you live. Some places have fiber. Some places are very remote and people are spread out so it's impractical to get it there and what is there is costly. There are a number of factors.
Someday there will hopefully be better wireless options that will open up the Internet worldwide at highspeed no matter where you are.
