I don't want to mess with your downgrading narrative too much (I'm not a member of Brazzers) but I wanted to point out that just because the newer videos have 1/2 the bit rate does not necessarily mean they are downgraded. They may have simply switched to a more modern codec. HEVC produces videos that are almost exactly half the size of H264 videos at slightly better video quality, which would match up with what you are describing.

You may be quite right in technical terms. But I am a Brazzers member for 9 years and I can SEE the difference. Nice that you advocate the Brazzers case, I support the site too. But I regret their policy.

The annoying fact is that videos from 2010 and earlier are still found on their pages, but when you click on them, the video isn't there.
I don't always check the upload date and so missclick a lot.
Guess it's their way to look like there are more vids than there really are. It's already error-reported (in april 2018), so I hope it will be updated soon.
I did some calculations:
Movies from June 2009 and older are gone. This means a total of 1518 missing scenes which is a percentage of close to 18%.

They did NOT change codec.
Still same old AVC/h264 that they used ever since they stopped using.wmv.
They just cut bitrate from 12000 to 6000(and less, seen videos with just 5000 and even 4300).
And it shows extremely.
blurry, no details, skin is now a mess of color banding and compression artefacts.
Really sad to see them go from benchmark, to a good compromise, to down to as bad as 1080p can get.
(the point where it is so starved of bitrate that 720p downsample with same bitrate would look better.
