merc77 (Disabled) If there is a no vote, give the reason why. Many might want to know it is from a legit user so they can fix it if they wish or want to.

Or to flag management that there is a serious problem with either the giver of the no or the recipient.

exotics4me (0) I have tried to go back and change any of my anonymous "yes" votes to show my name. I used those back in the early days of PU because I would notice if I gave someone a yes vote they would give me one. I didn't want members "trusting" me just because I gave them a yes vote.

As for no votes, I haven't to my knowledge, given a "no" anonymous vote.

Loki (0) I'm of mixed mind about trust votes. I think any of the long-term members have a good idea whom among us is a trustworthy user, based on reviews and posts. It's more a shortcut for newer users to "grade" the reviewers (I don't know X as a reviewer, so what does the community think of X?). But why have this? If you read the review or comment, surely you don't need to know what other people think of the user and can make up your own mind on it's usefulness or validity. I kind of see both sides. A new member might want to kind of suss the user's validity with some trust score, and it kind of does that. But I inherently don't really care what other people think of a user, I'll make up my own mind based on their posts.

On the whole, I'd like to see anonymous trust scores eliminated.

Excellent analysis. You said everything I would have said about the subject. But you said it first :)

To avoid such a thing, I look at the ones who trusted me and their reviews. I noticed they write very good reviews with a lot of knowledge for future porn users. That is what really matters when it comes to trusting review writers.

After all, we are trying to help others spend their money wisely.

I had to check your join date since there is a chance you didn't know this part. Back before 2011, a member could get a raffle ticket by placing 5 user trust votes per week. If they had badges they would also get a ticket for each of those. Some members were getting 11 tickets per week just for posting 5 user trust votes. It caused a lot of randomness. Back then, it never felt like those were being handed out for any other reason other than raffle tickets. There would be members with 0 reviews that had 20+ trust votes. It was one of the negatives in the old raffle system. It was built to create a community and interaction between members. A person could also get tickets for 5 replies. That too led to a lot of silly randomness like replies to a review that said, "Love this site!" I thought it was interesting that I checked your trust votes since you only have 5. I noticed your first one was from an anonymous member. I logged in and saw the "edit your vote" button. Meaning anonymous was me. It now shows my vote as your newest. I guess where I added a comment to it.

lk2fireone (0) I POSTED A POSITIVE TRUST VOTE FOR MERC77 ON 04-21-17, WITH THE COMMENT, "NICE REVIEWS, USEFUL AND EASY TO READ."

DO I GET 2 RAFFLE TICKETS FOR THAT:
-ONE FOR THE VOTE.
-ONE FOR THE COMMENT.

I NEED A RULING ON THAT FROM FREDDIEADMIN.

Your vote isn't anonymous now and the date you trusted me is still the same. You were the first to trust my reviews and that means a lot to me.

Loki (0) This poll has made me think about Trust Ratings on PU. I initially pretty much ignored the whole thing, with the rationale that individuals could make up their own minds about other users based on reviews and comments. I think this was a mistake. PU has a great community, and mutual respect has been a hallmark of this site. If Trust Ratings is the method that PU members can show appreciation to others, I have a long way to go to show my esteem for the members of this site.

PU Folks, please read this entire comment.

I got a "not trusted" vote by another reviewer because he did not agree with my review of one of his favorite sites. The no-trust was anonymous, but it could only have been one person as he also wrote a rebuttal to my review to the site flexy teens. He wrote "Inaccurate reviews" in the no trust comment. I even went back to the site and double checked everything I had said to make sure I wasn't misrepresenting it. (It was and I wasn't.) I responded to the rebuttal and responded to the no trust vote. Never heard from the guy again and as far as I can tell, he doesn't come to PU anymore.

The other factor is that any legitimate reviewer getting a no-trust rating has the potential to be discouraged and annoyed with the PU site. I can say that personally, I have been much less interested in writing reviews since this anonymous douchebag no-trusted me in January of 2018. I think everyone has a right to disagree, but a no-trust mark is permanent, universal and..can it even be reversed? That's just wrong.

I know I took this too personally, but as a top-20 reviewer who takes pride in my reviews, I really feel like that was a kick in the nuts. PU could have a better system. Other review/comment systems use thumbs up/thumbs down at the review level, with cumulate votes and the option to report. That seems to be much more fair.

Dump the no-trust option.
