Unfortunately this seems to be a growing trend. I'd be okay with a two-tiered price structure though. One price for streaming and an additional fee for downloads. Some sites are using that model now too.

As long as they disclose beforehand, I'm fine. I take issue when there isn't disclosure, when they don't mention streaming nor downloading. Not even in the terms and conditions. That system is deliberately designed to mislead customers as far as I'm concerned.

It's been my experience that most sites don't disclose whether or not they allow downloads and many that do mention it do so in vague language buried in the terms and conditions. I get that piracy is a serious issue, but it seems to me that screwing over your PAYING customers is hardly the solution.
