Messmer, as the webmaster of inthecrack I really have to set the record straight on this one. There is NO DOWNLOAD LIMIT on inthecrack.com. You certainly didn't see that on inthecrack. Presumably you saw that on thebestporn. thebestporn is simply wrong on this one.

I was recently a memeber for 2 months. I thought the site was great. But I canceled because during the second month becuase the download speeds got extremely slow. I emailed asking what happen to the site with no response. I even tried downloading at different times of of the day, (4 AM) the speed got a little better but it could take well over an hour to download the various clips for the video. One evening it took almost an hour just to download the zip file. I plan on joining again because I thought the site was well worth it but if the speed issue is not addressed I doubt I will join or recommend.

There's a lot more factors involved in download speed than just our server and your internet connection. There's a relevant section on our FAQ page http://www.inthecrack.com/faq.php explaining this exact subject. I personally get an average of 1.8 MB/sec from the site. Some people can get as much as 3 MB/sec. The average for most people with cable is between 700 KB to 1 MB/sec. Undoubtedly there are many things that can affect your download speed but if in doubt I'd recommend testing the free sampler first to see what you get.

Thank you for setting the record straight and my apologies. I, indeed, got my information re. download limits through 4 different reviewers' comments, straight from TBP. I hope the staff is looking in so that the record may be corrected. Judging by the previews you have a great site and I am glad that a download limit no longer has to be an issue with me. I couldn't understand your reasoning anyway (going by TBP statistics) because, as I mentioned, with today's large files it doesn't take long to reach a Gig a day.

Perhaps you missed it but ...
The listing was changed this morning shortly after the webmaster first posted. The listing now includes the phrase, "Webmaster verifies no download limits"
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Khan. Yes, your reply does help because mention of the 30 Gig download limit was still there when I wrote my reply. I made doubly sure of that. In any case, I'm glad that everything has been straightened out.

As you say, a lot of factors affect download speed. I've had conversations about this with Alex of ALS Scan, because they are very proud of their work to have the fastest download speeds available, while I, with a cable connection that tests very fast, often experience download speeds of 200 kbs/sec with ALS Scan, not impressive at all.
My ISP is Comcast, and I understand that Comcast itself sometimes slows down downloads.

I have no issues with the download speeds at this site. The review says the site discourages download manager use. I do not know if that is written anywhere in the site's policy or FAQ, and I simply did not look. I did notice that if I use a manager like DownThemAll!, I have problems. Even downloading one file with four concurrent chunks can sometimes fail. If I download things in a "normal" fashion, I get exceedingly high speeds (as good as any other site I have used) and excellent reliability, with no hung downloads.
What I use for this site is the utility Wget. You can queue as many files as you choose, and it downloads them one at a time, without trying to grab extra chunks or running simultaneous downloads. My speeds with Wget are just as good as a "normal" browser download, and Wget is very robust and reliable. I'm getting 1.17 megabytes per second, not megabits per second, either.
Kudos to the webmaster for paying attention to comments here and offering a first-rate site.
