Download speed problems also happen at Porn.com (site from this same company). It's a pity that their standard reply seems to be always that the problems are on the user's end.

Yep, I've run into that before as well. Blame the user or his ISP or the routing. I am waiting to see what the webmaster has to say, either here or in reply to an email I sent.

Hi Messmer,
thanks so much for your very detailed emails earlier this week.
To everyone:
It's very difficult for us to diagnose speed issues with users. Typically someone will login to pornusers and complain about speed, or email me and then never reply again. This doesn't help us figure out what the problem might be, or if there really is a problem. Usually (don't hit me) it's an ISP or routing issue. We try and get in contact with everyone who posts issues and resolve them - we're in the business of happy!
This week Messmer took some time out and tested download speeds for us and provided valuable and specific feedback. You should know he also refused gratuities from me as well so that he can remain objective. You guys are lucky to have him looking out for you.
The result of the testing has been a small network tweak and a big change in download speeds that everyone will benefit from. I invite you to try it out. We're also in the process of a larger upgrade that we hope will boost speeds even further for downloads and streaming.
Have a great weekend everyone and happy surfing,
Kris.

Thanks for the kind words and explanation re. speed issues, Kris. It was a pleasure to experiment a bit on your behalf even though, being a non-tekkie I had to leave the answers up to you. I have happily downloaded much of the day today .. guess what: good speeds, no broken links, no interrupted downloads. Streaming has been excellent and I really like the changes you made. Thanks for being so courteous and responsive, it's not only right but makes good business sense as well.

One final note. Yesterday, Sunday, things seemed once again back to unsatisfactory so far as speed was concerned. Even the streaming came to a grinding halt occasionally, first time that has happened to me on this site. I still got my money's worth by selecting tons of files for a download and then going for a nice leisurely drive. A couple of hours later all scenes were finished downloading and resting on my hard drive.
But the sad fact is that if you sit in front of the computer waiting for the completion of a download you are still mostly out of luck because it takes ages with speeds yo-yo-ing from 46 KB/sec to 500 KB/sec. The fluctuations are rapid and constant. Don't know what to blame or whom to blame but I'm done trying to be helpful because nothing has changed. Speed remains basically a problem. So, Kris, I believe you when you say you are trying hard to keep us happy, but obviously your techies haven't found the answer to the speed problem yet. You have a good site but some genius has to get to the bottom of this soon before too many get discouraged.
