Drooler (Disabled) Going with my gut and saying "poor preview," as that's usually the first thing that brings on reluctance. If the content is crummy and/or skimpy, I won't be reluctant; I'll just not join.

And a great preview allows the visitor to see the content in full, at least in thumbs. TeenModels does it. TeenDreams does it. Europornstars does it. Sweet and Nude does it. Too bad that so few sites do.

Colm4 (0) Yes, a good preview will usually make me join. But the main reason for not joining a site is usually a bad review on pornusers.com!

monty2222 (0) One more vote for poor previews. It's a little suspicious when sites try to hide what exactly is in their members area and use the same teaser videos/photos month after month.

RagingBuddhist (Disabled) I rely on reviews to give me some idea of what I'd find on a site. If I see a bunch of average quality video and a $30 (or worse) price tag, I avoid the site.

Monahan (0) Simple.

If the reviews of a $9.99 site are lousy, I use the money to supersize my Big Mac meal instead.

If the reviews of a $34.95 are great, (DDF for example), I will spring for it.

Don't get me wrong. price will always be a factor; the higher the price, the more I will study the reviews and the preview site before making the plunge. But the reviews are always the deciding factor.

And frankly, since joining PU, the only clunker sites I've joined were those where the site had not been reviewed at all on PU or TBP. Lesson learned. If a site has not been reviewed by PU or TBP, it's probably too new or too lousy to warrant the effort.

Capn (0) It is not just one factor. For me it is:

1) Are the photosets on topic, decent quality & available for zip download in some form?

2) Are the updates regular?

3) What quantity of sets & models do they have?

4) Is the price reasonable?

messmer (Disabled) I would never join a site with that one or two page preview without samples or without the opportunity to have an in depth look at what they have to offer. But the other categories mentioned (except for currency problems) will affect my decision to join as well. So do bad reviews.

GCode (0) I really wanted to put quality of videos as my major reluctancy to join but I think 'not enough videos' is a good option for my answer to this poll. I understand that a site featuring photography does have plenty of expenses and is not cheap but I think a site featuring only photography is taking an easy way out. In my opinion, a site should always feature videos as well even if the site is an artsy site. While videos may not be everyones fortay, but neither are photos for everyone. I use photography kinda like an aphrodisiac but always end up watching a video/videos at the end. Within videos you get to see a model (usually) as a human and not just some still object within a picture which projects personality and a feeling that the model is still human. While I still love images I really get reluctant if a site has a small amount of videos that may feature low quality videos (res, bitrate, camera work, going through the motions, etc) or if there are only a few available to download as well.

pat362 (0) The price of any site is important because every dollar I invest in a site is one less that I'll have for other sites, but the biggest reason why I don't join a site is if the preview pages are weak or non-existent.

I won't join a site for any amount if I can't get a feel for what's inside, even if the cost is 1$.

Jay G (Disabled) Hate a site that may be good, but has a bad preview, shows no updates, no samples, and is basically a "pig in a poke."

I've been burnt a few (OK, several) times over the years and that, in fact, is how I found Best Porn and Porn Users afew years ago. I NEEDED TO KNOW before I took the financial plunge. Even if it's not that much money, I hate feeling cheated.

Denner (0) Sorry - this was certainly not just a 'one factor' and I guess most answers go for this user, too.
Still, it's price and preview first....

lk2fireone (0) I try to balance price versus content (quality and quantity of content), to make a rough guess as to whether a site is worth joining. I do read the reviews at PU to get an idea of the site contents (quality + quantity of photosets, frequency of updates, ease of site navigation, and any problems the site might have.

rearadmiral (0) This isn't what will make me avoid a site, rather it is something that will make me more likely to join - it's a full look at the inside of the site so I can have a high level of comfort of what I'm getting. Sites like Videobox and American Vice do this. You could spend a day looking through every title that they have before you shell out the cash for downloads. Not only does this allow me to be sure that the site offers what they say it does, but I have confidence in the site because they have confidence to let me see inside. I'll still take a membership in a site that only has a few pages of 'previews' but only if TBP and PU folks tell me what's in there. I didn't do this a couple of weeks ago and got sort of burned. I got a membership to an exhibitionist site that only had a limited preview, limited info on TPB and no PU review. To my unpleasant surprise it had no videos, only pics. I wasn't fleeced because after I took out the membership I dug around again and did find reference to it being a pic only site, but a full look through it would have been better.

PinkPanther (0) I'm a cheap sob generally, so few sites that don't give me the opportunity to get a $20/mo price will get me to join, though I'm certainly willing to do a multi-month join to get that price.

If a site is more than that price, they'd better be bringing it in terms of both quality and frequency of updates.

I feel quite ripped off if I join a site and they aren't updating.

So give me a decent price & a decent rate of high quality updates, be honest about what I can expect and deliver what was promised and I'm happy.

Wittyguy (0) While many have carped about bad reviews being the reason not to join I say the main reason for me is crumby picture sizes. I like my pics and I've seen a lot of sites get good reviews that have garbage for photos so that's my vote and I'm stickin' to it.
