Wow! First to vote and reply! Uh, what was the question again?
Not sure what this has to do with porn (both help you relax I guess) but yes, absolutely. There are more dangerous chemicals in much of the 'food' at your local grocery store, and that's before you even get to the pharmacy.
There are a couple of problems; drug laws, including ones outlawing marijuana, have been used to control people, not protect them, and the government would not like to lose that control anytime soon. The second is that marijuana may be too easy to grow and harvest for large companies to make it a competitive crop in the free market (it's called weed for a reason).
But if you have a medical condition...

Sure - stop making people who enjoy smokin' a joint criminals....
But I guess it'll never be legal - at least not for many, many years.
And BTW: I think that 99% of people who smokes a joint now and then, are in most other ways so called law obeying citizens..

I don't like marijuana, but I don't believe making it an illegal substance does anybody good. Driving under the influence and other crimes that hurt other people should be punished severely, but smoking doesn't harm anyone except the user and is therefore none of the government's business.

I don't feel there is any harm in using it. I don't but I don't care if others do.

I think it should be legal to grow small amounts for personal use but in no way do I agree with making it a taxed commercial product.

Like any mood altering drug. There is a good side and a bad side. If you have an occasional drink than that's fine, but if you have to have one than it's not. If you like to smoke a joint from time to time than that's fine, but if a party isn't a party until you've had a joint or two then that's a problem. I don't want to see pot or any other drug legalised. I don't mind if you decriminalize it because being caught with your own stash should not mean possible jail time and a permanent mark on your file. Another giant problem with pot smoker versus drunks. At this time police can do a breath analyzer for alcohol but there is no test for marijuna. WE already have way too many F..G idiots driving drunks that I don't want to add pot heads to the equation. Don't tell me a b..Shit story that smoking pot increases your refelexes. I've seen plenty of guys stoned out of their mind who couldn't put 2 words together to make a conversation. Let alone drive any vehicle.

Absolutely. Legalize marijuana and prostitution. Tax them and regulate them just like we legalize and regulate booze. Prohibition didn't work!

Of course they should legalize it. The money spent on the prosecution and incarceration of otherwise law abiding pot smokers could be put to far better use.

Never touched the stuff, except for once and I didn't even inhale! Honestly. I know some politician said the same thing but trust me, I don't need to gain votes so it's the truth. But I can't see why alcohol, which is far more destructive to the individual and family life should be legal and a drug that is far less dangerous should be illegal.

REPLY TO #13 - messmer :
Because the alcohol companies can't add marijuana to their product line. ;-)
Prescription drugs are even more dangerous--they are literally doses of poison concocted in labs--but they are part of a multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry. Alcohol definitely has also been doing harm as long as it's been around but it's also given some comfort and relaxation to people as well. Life sucks, and has sucked, for the majority of the human population for as long as it's been around so looking for something to take the edge off is logical.

I've yet to hear the story that pot increases your reflexes, but then again driving drunk isn't legal even if the alcohol itself is. I'm not picking on you, it's just that this argument always comes up and people seem to confuse use and misuse.
I agree that there should at least be decriminalized since so many Americans tax dollars are going to pay to imprison people for possession, that is simply having it them, not even using it. The old joke is that the most dangerous effect of marijuana is being caught with it, not any of its effects on the body. And if the possession of pot is illegal than what is stopping someone from doing something worse, such as driving under the influence? If someone wishes to use marijuana, and it is close to 100% illegal in the U.S., than how are we to expect them to care about any other norms as well?
Remember: zero tolerance is zero thinking.

I agree that you will never hear a study that pot increases anything other than the munchies. I was exagerating the point. The fact is that so many people drive drunk today and alcohol is legal. It's too late to put that one in Pandora's Box. It's been tried and we all know what became of prohibition. I just think that allowing pot any foothold in legality and you will let another horror loose in the world.
You are correct that pot like alcohol is largely based on abuse rather than use. The problem is that those that abuse one are often the same that abuse the other so although some people say that pot is less armful than alcohol. I have a neighnors who smokes pot daily and not just one joint and after seeing the effect. I will never believe that pot isn't harmful to humans.
