I just check whatever I have to. If it's a paysite, and I paid for a membership, what am I going to do? Decide I don't like some part of the site agreement, and demand my money back? That's if I can even understand what the terms and conditions are talking about. It's even worse for many software agreements, where you have to be a lawyer to understand what you are agreeing to, before you can use the software that you already paid for. I believe it's a simple fiction that most people actually agree to the terms and conditions of many software agreements that are a requirement to be able to use the software: I believe most people just check the software agreement without really understanding what they are agreeing to regarding the specifics, because the terminology was written by lawyers and can not be understood by the "average" user without a simplified translation that is not available.

Will sometimes scan briefly for any download limits if it's a site i'm not familiar with or for cancellation terms if i'm not familiar with the payment processor but mostly i don't bother because you can usually find the information here at PU or TBP.

I would've said I would only read it thoroughly if I had already subscribed to the site before.
But websites tend to change the rules quite often these days to scam you into all sort of things. It's happened before and I don't want it to happen again.
Thoroughly it is.

I "scan briefly" and watch out for any pre-checked boxes (always suspicious in my view, regardless of whether or not it's porn).

Other than looking for prechecked stuff I don't pay any attention to them. I figure that if I run into problems I can bitch about it here and by trying to contact the site or cancel my membership and, if I have to, dispute the charges (I've never been fought by a website the few times I've had to do this). Raising a stink usually changes the rules if the website cares at all. If they don't, they usually don't fight over a single membership fee.

I don't read the terms and conditions much. If the site is reviewed on TPB and PU I can usually get warnings about any problems much easier that way.

I'm completely anti-proactive about it. If I get screwed, then just I'll come here and complain. And I figure that the terms and conditions are usually to protect the site from intellectual property theft and from litigation.

I read through it and look at reviews before joining any site. PU comments and reviews are very important before I click YES.

I dont tend to read any of these legal T & C's. Who knows what I have unknowingly agreed to over the years :) But in my defense, I think you need to be a lawyer to understand the legal jargon that they contain, so I dont think I would be any the wiser even if I did read them.

It's waste of time to read all that (nonsense) - there are some major terms - follow them - and if they screw you, well - complain - or like Drooler states: place the complaints at PU - (and go from here)...
It normally works...

Waste of time is right. If anything is wrong or shady about a site I find out quickly enough through PU. Their "I want to protect my ass from all possible adverse consequences" doesn't interest me.
