Source of spam?

I started to sign up for a membership at this site, then stopped before completing the process. I did enter a username and email address, and a password, but did not enter my credit card number. Then I decided not to join, and went to another site.

Less than an hour later, I got 3 emails. One email told me "Your account has been set up and will be activated the first time you log in." That account is for AmateurMatch.

My email address was the same I had entered at Porn Pros Network.
The username on the account was the name I had entered at Porn Pros Network + 1 digit at the end.

The account is for AmateurMatch.

I got 2 other emails from AmateurMatch:
1 email is the AmateurMatch September newsletter.
1 email advises me to add a photo of myself and complete my Advanced Profile to increase my chances of finding someone.

I never heard of AmateurMatch before, and never signed up for it.

I made a mistake giving my main email address to Porn Pros, even though I did not enter my real name, just a user name. And that user name I gave formed the basis of my membership name in AmateurMatch.

And I did not even finish the signup process at Porn Pros. Their server apparently copies usernames and email addresses, even in a partially completed signup process.

Edit01: The only other time I used that same username was at a different porn site I did sign up with about 2 1/2 months ago, but I doubt the AmateurMatch spam came from that other site, because I gave the other site my full information on signup (Legal name, credit card data, etc.).

Tree Rodent (0) This is the site that used to be known for dodgy practices, then suddenly TBP starts to give it good reviews but without saying why. Pink Panther brought this up in a comment. I avoided the site even though it looks like it has good material. Once a bunch of dodgy scumbags, always a bunch of dodgy scunmags.

messmer (Disabled) Thanks for the warning, lk2fireone! I'll steer clear of this site thanks to you. Maybe TBP SHOULD have another look at this place.

RagingBuddhist (Disabled) Yep - it might be a cheap site to join but the spam I'm getting now is insane. Instead of maybe 3 or 4 pieces of junk a day I considered "the cost of surfing the tube sites", I'm now getting 20+. A damn shame when you figure the freebies would be more prone to flood your inbox but, instead, you paid to get spammed.

Nice.

RB, I've been getting a big increase in the number of spam emails the last few days as well. I can't prove who the source is, or the cause. But I can say that the spam emails I've been getting from AmateurMatch are almost certainly from my partial signup at porn pros.
So my feeling is that the rest of the increased spam came from the same source, my partial signup at porn pros.
Have you been getting any emails from AmateurMatch as well? It wouldn't prove anything, but it would be an indication that your signup at porn pros was the cause of some of your increased spam.

Victorycreed (0) Finally someone mentioned it as well.

I had the same problem. A lot of "know-it-alls" told me that it's just a common thing. I say no. Of coarse, adult spam is probably a constant thing, but you'd noticed the difference from what you usually get versus the increase or change.

I can only assume that either they are or their clients data has been hacked and added to a spam network. Anyways, for me it's finally slowed down. I barely get any adult spam.

Damn, every time I want to give this site another chance, they go and do something shady like this. It's like they don't want my business. Or doesn't realized there are websites like this.
