Very much in favour of them.
The user only has to cherry pick & saves a lot on download time & harddrive space too.

I said "Waste of Time" because I can pick out the "bad cherries" easily enough after downloading the whole zip. But some folks like them, I s'pose. Whatever.

I'm a hoarder, I download everything and delete nothing. Therefore the picky, choosey nature of custom zips is nothing for me.

Never seen them so I'm not sure what they are about. Some dynamically created zips depending on what and in which resolution you want? Too much hassle and I guess it is really server intensive. I'd rather download full size pre made zips.

They are a way to download only the photos you want. Instead of zipdownloading a whole set, you make a selection. Not many sites offer this choice.

Have not seen them much - but when: I'll say waste of time....you got to mark every single photo you want - maybe a 100 out of a 150 pix set - again: waste of time.
Edit your set - if you need that - after downloading the entire deal...

It's easier and simpler for me to download the entire photoset as a zip. Then, if I want to, I can delete any individual photos from the set that I really dislike.
But I almost never delete or change any of the photos in a set. I am not a purist. I'm more like BadMrFrosty, a hoarder. Or perhaps a kinder explanation would be that I am a purist, who admires the purity of the original artform, the original photoset as selected by the photographer or whoever edited the photoset in the first place.

Don't download photosets. Don't understand the attraction of photosets. Especially if there is video to watch.

As long as there are check boxes labeled "all" and "max resolution" I'm not complaining ;)

I think photos are almost always much better in quality. I find myself viewing images all the time and just archiving the videos.
Maybe I'm backwards or something but I always think words say more than pictures and pictures say more than videos when some say one picture is worth 1000 words.

When I was a kid about 13 I would take the bus downtown to the Greyhound station so I could purchase those "pornographic" paperbacks. Then I would cut out the parts I wanted and paste them into a scrapbook just to whack off to as I read them. Easier than trying to keep that paperback open to the page I wanted.
Then I got a hold of a copy of Playboy that was buried under my mattress. Still don't know how my mom found it but I loved the photos.
Then as I got older I found videos and have never looked back since. Oh, I get the newsletter from MET Art and check them out but for porn I'm just into the videos.
You are correct in your assessment that photos are a better quality but I'm into the action.
With that said, I want to raise a toast to Charlie Sheen for doing what's right with porn stars. If I made 1.8 million an episode I'd be buying time with my favorites too. Charlie's only problem is he doesn't understand the word "moderation". He keeps slipping into "excess". God bless him.

I don't see them much, but I'm not the kind of person who goes to the trouble of using custom features in videos and pics.
I also understand that programs which create files on the fly isn't the kind of thing website sever admins like.

I don't keep the whole set as there are too many repetitions. How many almost identical pictures of a butt does one need? As to whole zip downloads vs. custom zips, I honestly can't see the difference. In one the editing is done at home, in the other it's done on-line. The size of a picture set is so small that hard drive space hardly makes a difference. Sorry, Cap'n! :-)

There sort of waste for me. I edit down my photo sets anyway so it's just six of one, half dozen of the other as to sorting them on line to do a custom zip or just zipping the whole thing and sorting later. I usually just zip the whole set since I tend to use trial offers more and my time is limited. Take your time to edit them later.

That really depends on the size of the archive.
Yes, I could buy more space, but I am currently going through the gory job of slicing down decades of collecting, which will free up a fair amount of space, but I am spending a godawful amount of time looking at & deleting 60% odd of most sets.
Especially the recent greatly larger, poorly edited ones.
It is a PITA.
Ticks the ones you want, zip made download.
Job done!
None of this gory mess I have now.

I think it's a nice idea, perhaps - but I doubt I'd bother to use it. Disk space is cheap, I'd rather just download the whole set and prune later if I need to.

That is what led to my situation.
'Oh I'll edit it later.'
Been doing that for about ten years.
Now I am actually tackling this mammoth task.
Been at it a few weeks now.

Capn, just think of all that time you saved. Ten years of work, done in a few weeks. Wow, wish I was that efficient! Lol.
I think I will wait until I'm dead and buried and let whoever finds my porn stash edit it or dump it. Or better yet, I could have it buried with me.

Another 3 years dedicated effort should sort it! ;0)

Don't see much use for them. I, too, am a hoarder and I tend to download a lot more that I'll probably ever get around to watching very much. Generally, If I see something I like, I keep it and if not I delete it. So, I guess I accomplish the same thing on my own.
