I'd love to hear from those who've tried the "dollar deals."
I haven't because they seem like a scam and I like more than one day or so to check out a site.
But if it works for you, tell us. Maybe I'd try it.

Perhaps some day in the future there will be an online "dollar store" of old, discarded porn sites, the ones we now pay $20 to $30 per month for.

I believe those sites are all scam. Plus the sites that have one dollar trials or free trials tend to be poor sites.

As has been mentioned, the majority of these sites are very poor quality and usually just a scam to get you to sign up for more expensive sites.

Yes, they sure look cheesy to me. Typically, there's little or no preview of what's inside, though they're designed to get your attention. And one may well wonder how good they could be if the trial is only a buck to nothing.
Funny how such offers tend to have an effect opposite of what is intended. They turn all but the most gullible away. They're the street hustlers of cyberspace.

I can't comment from experience, since I have never tried a 1$ trial, but I'll stick to the old proverb that "if it looks too good to be true, than it probably is". Like some others post, I'd love to hear the opinion from someone who did a 1$ trial.

I haven't tried any of those. I've tried a few trials over the years, though. I would like to see sites maybe consider offering weeklong full memberships for say $10. A few are doing it now. I wonder if that will become a future option?
Those $1 trials remind too much of being an 18 year old going in to the video store, all nervous, slipping into the adult section and picking the one with the prettiest girl on the cover. Then you watch the video and she isn't in the movie!

I don't try the $1.95 or $2.95 deals where TBP has the caution message jsut because I know it's worthless.
However there are some sites that sell brief, 3 day or so, access to the site without restrictions for, say, $9.95. I've tried that once and was happy I did. I was ready to sign on for a month to see what it had, but the 3 day option was a better idea. Why? Didn't like the site.

On the whole, I think they are usually just for upsells to other sites, but I have done a couple that at least had some minimal content. So, I didn't pick "They're a scam" since in those instances I did get what I paid for, but for the most part I think it's just a gimmick with deception in mind.

I have never done a $1 or Free Trial and here is why: I read the fine print! I swear one site stated that you had 24 hours on your "free trial" (limited to boot), but then they would charge you the standard fee after this. Mind you I never signed up for the site, but I did read up on it.
