tangub (0) Very sad news indeed, he has always been one of my favourite photographers and had a very unique style. DDGirls (previous name for Digital Desire) was one of the very first sites I joined when I first got online back around 10 years ago and to this day his site remains one of my favourites. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at Digital Desire. R.I.P.

otoh (0) Likewise, sad news indeed. While his style is a bit formulaic, it is nonetheless a good formula and very recognisable - I can generally tell straight away when seeing his sets on other sites. It also seems very respectful to the models - quite glam, but in an alluring, natural way - definitely a loss.

Drooler (Disabled) I first joined Digital Desire (the former name of his site) in 2002. It was one of the first sites I found in those days with a really professional approach to nude photography, and a signature style that you could identify just by how the photos were done. You knew it was by Hicks without having to look for his name.

Dying at age 58 is way too early, and it was not expected. I wonder how it happened.

It is certainly a great loss to many.

RagingBuddhist (Disabled) REPLY TO #3 - Drooler :

Did some Googling and I think it almost has to be cancer related. One site is saying that, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to either the Surfrider Foundation or Heal the Bay or The John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

I also saw a site with pictures of him and one showed him wearing a light blue rubber band bracelet - the color signifying prostate cancer awareness.

PinkPanther (0) Thanks for letting us know - he was a talented photographer, for sure, and he was known for trying to discourage soft-core models from getting into the hard-core biz, even if it would make his pics of them more valuable. RIP.
