The only discussion forum I ever spent any time on was at dr-hardcore; it was active and pretty interesting. But just having to sign up and keep track of even more logins and learn what the icons mean and so on, I just didn't want to deal with that.

The only ones I have used are the one on Teen Dreams and I read the one on Eve Angel's site some. The Teen Dreams one is pretty active, but they have several inside jokes that make no sense to me! Eve is never on hers, so I don't post on it, plus they don't seem to be answering any questions on it or posting down time announcements.

I usually use forums as a secondary to showing when updates occur. Some sites do not tell you except in the forums. I really don't like forums in members areas that you have to sign up for after loggin into the members area. It should, at the very least, use your own membership user/password or, even better, be logged in automatically using your membership user/pass.
I don't use them often though.
One of the only one's I have used was in LittleMutt since they would often give you previews or a heads up on what sets and videos were on the way.

I like forums because you get to talk about a topic freely. Forums couldn't hurt.

I like when sites have them, but I don't post on them much. It's interesting to see what other people have to say about the site, and it's good that you can see that you're not the only one who doesn't think you're getting your money's worth sometimes. Princesspresley.com took down their forum since people were bitching so much about lack of updates. On the other hand, the folks at youngporn.net were very good about taking care of member concerns, so they can be a good thing to have at times for both parties.

The forum on Babelicious is interesting and monitored by the webmaster who is quick to reply to comments, suggestions and concerns. However their sister sites have a separate forum that is very inactive and gets no attention at all from management when posts appear.
The only other site I've signed up for with anything resembling a forum is VideoBox with their "reviews" of both a full video and of individual scenes. The "reviews" are really more like a running commentary on the site.
IMHO, forums are useful but not essential to an otherwise good site.

REPLY TO #10 - Monahan :
I haven't checked out the forum on Babelicious. I'll have to do that. The biggest problem with forums is that they get started with a fair amount of fanfare, such as the Twisty's forum, then the people who run the site lose interest quickly and the interesting aspects fade - or in solo sites, such as Eve Angel's, they become ghost towns where they are more a source of frustration from all of the un-answered posts to the people who run the site than anything else.
Phil Flash's NNBoards was one of the best forums for quite a while, but went downhill quite a bit after he fired Next Door Nikki, Princess Blueyez and Seanna. To his credit, he let a lot of intense griping go on without just squashing it. But it made the whole thing a bit depressing.
With some solo-girl sites, forums are a significant part of the whole thing. Kate of Kate's Playground used to be tremendously active in her forums - she'd get in there and argue and debate and put herself in the middle of all kinds of interesting discussions - as well as tease us with her beauty. Karen of Karen Dreams has a forum that she's in a lot also - and you don't even have to be a member of her site to join.

I don't always use them, but a site having a discussion board can push it over the top in terms of joining a site. They aren't hard to do, at least basic ones, and it shows that the webmaster cares enough about the site to operate one. So, would I join a site without one. Sure! Is it a nice perk? Absolutely!

I think a forum is a sign of a good site. This way we can add something that may be important.

The best discussion forum (apart from this site of course!)I found was on Girls Out West. The content of the site was satisfactory, but the forum really made it a lot of fun.
