My feelings range from "oh, no-o-o!" to "tough beans" on this one. To haven't had collected is to have never seen, so it's based on whether you think you missed something good or not.
It's the one good thing about sites that carry earlier material. TeenModels, for example, has had quite a few sets that used to be on SuperGlam years ago with improvements in size if not in the watermark.
When things like that happen, you never really know what has disappeared for good.
I'd love to see a revival of material that showed up on a French language site called TopMiss. It had a lot of exclusive stuff of many of the "A-list" European models such as Marketa Belonoha and Bambi.
Also would love seeing a revival of Linda O'Neil's old site, updated to current standards. But maybe that one actually has gone for good.

Only for a few favorites, and, fortunately, they usually show up again a few years later somewhere.
What is needed is a "Google" for the porn world where collectors could find every porn video and picture ever put on the Internet. It would be like the reference room of the library of congress, only much more interesting. I would hang out in that library.

I always do because it's not so much that I missed it the first time around but realising that it was always there only after I discover that it's gone.
Luckily for me that doesn't happen often.

I do consider it a loss when I miss out on porn sites I intended to see. I usually have a running list of the next sites I want to join, and this year I saw BodyParts.biz disappear just months before I would have joined, and that was tough.
It is much easier for porn to be lost for good than other types of content too, due to the way it is shared. Consider that, if any popular artist was removed from all sites where you can purchase mp3's, literally everything would still be available from hundreds of sources online. Now with porn, that is very different. On one hand, I think that the impact of sharing has hurt porn sites a lot more than music sales. On the other hand, usually only a small portion of the content from any given site can be found for free, so if the site goes, there is no complete digital record of its existence.
This is actually a rare good year for sites with peeing content though. While BodyParts.biz is the only site to have closed, two old sites have come back online - JustinesBedroom.net and Wetscape.com. Wetscape by the way is huge for peeing fans with a taste for the older material, since it is basically the original, quintessential large peeing site that was ever online. Gone since 2008, Tramp Stamp Studios brought it back.

One reason I have huge files is because I've had that happen, where a special babe and/or scene disappears. One that really pissed me off was a ridiculously hot scene with Mandy Dee that a site took down before I downloaded it.
Now, anytime I see a superior scene, I save it immediately.

I voted for 'only for favourites'. If I like it, I normally save it, but my external HDD died a while ago so while I've managed to rebuild my Karla Spice collection, everything I had for Tasha's Temptations (for example) is gone.

Yes I've often felt gutted when sites I had on my list to join disappear before I've gotten around to joining them. I was particularly devastated when the Marketa 4 You site featuring Marketa Belonoha closed down without me ever joining. Other sites I've been gutted to see go in recent times include Eva's Garden and Walter Bosque Art neither of which I'd gotten around to joining.
