My answer to this poll was "Occasionally" though I must say the last time was in 1968.
First time was 1962, the reading was accompanied by a canister vacuum cleaner hose which was running. lol - small enough to fit into it and create a vibration to ejaculation.
Oh wait - thinking more about this subject, I do recall buying a couple of Anaïs Nin books back in the 80's, "Little Birds" & "Delta of Venus", both of which were interesting.
If you've forgotten what erotic/pornographic literature is like or you've never explored it, here are a couple of sites you might explore.
Site One
Site Two

I used to read short stories but I sort of stopped doing that but can't remember why.

No, but my wife does! They have a nice term for it now - "romantic fiction."

During my younger years, used to Read'em only to garner some tips and new material to add to story lines in letters I'd send to "special" ladies .....specifically those who was on my wish list to bed-down.
Otherwise, never considered literary porn in any fashion worth reading.
except only for visual properties and/or erotic images .......translation: Pictures and movies.
