Porn as a whole serves consumers.
Makes little sense to me when awards are given by supporting agencies, that have zero idea what consumers are thinking.

I think fans should choose what appeals to them.
However, I pay almost no attention to porn awards.
And even though I sometimes watch the Academy Awards, I pay little attention to them regarding what movies I watch.
Because my enjoyment of a particular movie bears no relation to its Academy Award performance.
Also, my enjoyment of a particular movie bears no relation to its box office performance.

Porn Awards....kind of an oxymoron. Porn is privately watched by many, but, at least here in the hypocritical US, publicly shunned. (It's OK to shoot somebody on TV, but you can't see a boob because that would be porn!) How stupid and unhealthy. The value of the award is high within the industry, I suppose, but outside the industry, what, there are awards?? Because of this, it has to be because the fans, who will nearly always remain nameless, really appreciate or enjoy the work or the look or the unique talent that a porn model or porn star has. This is the weirdest industry on the planet....but I do see an opportunity for an independent, poll based industry award...THE PORN USER AWARDS!

The "don't care" option is telling. In my younger days, it wouldn't have been genteel to consider that an award might not mean that much. But a lot has changed.
For one, we no longer as easily trust the ones giving out the awards and thereby telling us who we should worship. For another, the media has splintered so much since the three major network days that attention to awards ceremonies is more haphazard. And we also don't value awards as much because their value has been diluted by excess and lowered standards.
Of course, some awards still mean a lot. But porn awards are to me as pointless as are the ones from the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. I know what I like. And in reference to what Cybertoad pointed out, the industry doesn't.
