I'm tempted to say all of the above except for the one about not enough content. In this day and age I don't know if there is a single site that you can be guaranteed will stay open for a year and that includes all the big boys like Brazzer and all the other huge network sites. For that reason buying a long term membership is iffy unless the price is so ridiculously low that not buying it would be a mistake.
I used to have a recurring long term membership with Brazzer that probably lasted over a year but I had negotiated a super great monthly rate and I was never disappointed with the number and quality of the updates and then one day they simply cancelled the recurring membership and I went back to a joining every few months. I haven't been a member in many months and frankly I haven't seen one video that makes me want to join. In fact it's the same thing for most of the sites that I used to join on a regular basis.

If you really love the site and your content on making it the main place where you get your fix from then I say go for it. In my case I tend to join a new site every month download as much as possible then move on. I have turned into a massive porn hoarder but I enjoy checking out new sites.

Only when there's big discounts.
Like about little over year ago there was this deal where you got HardX for 30€/year and same with MyXXXPass. I took the deals. I believe the only yearly subs I've ever had.

It depends, as two basic conditions must be satisfied: 1. It's a site that has content that I really like, and 2. The annual subscription costs less than US $99.99.
I never expect any site to have content that I'll download every day, but it generally has to be to my liking. And I'll take a break from an annual subscription now and then, too.

I have been an annual member of VideoBox for at least 10 years. They have a lot of crap but also have a large bunch of excellent stuff as well.
With all the new (to me) talent showing up every day, I love having a site where I can find the lady's earlier stuff.
I had a one year Twisty's membership which I eventually dropped when they changed their business practices. It was a great daily go to site but when the originals sold the business a few years back, I decided to break the long-term relationship.

The only times I've ever gone over a one month subscription were mistakes - forgetting to cancel. I'm more of a sign up, download what I want, then wait for the content to build up again kinda guy. I actually keep a text file in each site's folder so I'll know exactly when I was last on the site. I've yet to find a site that was worth sticking around on. But, as always, there aren't many sites that I like to begin with. The majority of porn today is either gonzo or a niche that doesn't appeal to me.

If I could afford it, I would subscribe for life (or one full year) for some sites.

Very good question. The vast majority of sites don't update frequently enough to warrant a continuous subscription, but I do have annual subscriptions to a few sites that have one or more updates a day. The annual rate, especially when a special is offered, are often equal to 3 months or so and if I'm going to rejoin a site more than once or twice a year, I'll consider it. Right now I have 4 or 5 annual subscriptions....and waaaay to many monthly ones.
