I rarely listen to music at home so there is no need for me to invest in equipment. My wife and I have such different tastes in music that whatever each of us plays annoys the other. She prefers top-40 stuff and I have a broad range of preferred music styles from traditional bluegrass, through 'classic' country and into 70's rock. The only common theme in my music collection is that with rare exceptions not much is newer than the late 1970s.

I know friends who love vinyl, but I got rid of my hundred scratchy vinyl albums long ago. Now, even though I have hundreds of CD's, I play almost nothing except Pandora which plays all my favorite songs and introduces me to new music in the genres I like.

I have bought a few vinyls, but only because they're special editions available only on vinyl. I rip those to high quality digital files. I did recently buy my uncle a Denon turntable to replace his old one, but I personally don't have a turntable.
We listen to music in our house roughly 95% of every day. I haven't adjusted to the peace and quiet of a smaller city and can't sleep without some kind of noise. My preferred one there is Sleep Like A Princess (no, I'm not kidding), it has a nice guitar tone similar to Santana's music.
My music collection has reached areas of the unknown. I'm over 3 TB now with pretty much every possible genre covered. I'm actually more obsessive about music than porn.

I have about a dozen that I picked up over the last two years, and I bring them out when the mood hits. Love going to the used vinyl stores. Knowing myself, I could get serious about collecting it, but vinyl has it's big collectors, and my main thing to collect is porn.

I can't say I have a great library. I've seen great ones, and mine was never that big, but I've got a fair sampling of music from the '60's and '70's. It used to be bigger until I gave some away, sold some, or realized that some had "walked away" without my knowledge.
One of my prized possessions is an original copy of "Vincebus Eruptum" by Blue Cheer.

I still have a record player and I still have a few dozen vinyl records but it's been a few years since I listened to them.
