PC Monitor. Hi guys and galls long time no see. So question, I need a good monitor. I have a 512mb video card good enough to push the most pressing video. Yet I have a Dell 19in standard res. I can never get that clarity I used to get on the old monitors. I like the flat screens we all have but the quality just never happens. Or and I do not want to spend over 300.00 including shipping. Ideas what or where , or what do you guys use to get that nice skin color and realistic. I have some nice hd videos that just look like crap, some of these looked so much nicer on my old monitor ( tube type) PS I do not play video games really and I have a 2.3 quad core pc 3 gigs ram Thanks for the help. You're going to be hard pressed to find an LCD or LED monitor that rivals the clarity of a CRT. I have an LG LCD monitor that I like "okay", but when I hooked my old Dell 21" CRT up, the LG looks like crap. There are calibration utilities out there that are supposed to tweak your picture, but I've never messed with them. From what I've seen on the tech forums, even the best of 'em seem to be hit or miss with the results. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | |

The older Dell LCD looks great. My 20 inch dell look nicer than my newer 24 princeton, who the hell knows who actually make it. Do not be cheap with your monitor. It makes no sense to download great looking content if you can not see it. Look at some of the Dell 24 inch monitors. Oh yes. Make sure you use DVI or HDMI. VGA truly does not look as good. Both look great, dont get me long, but DVI is a little better. If you need a good monitor, you really need to get one from IIYAMA; They make the best monitors on the market. | |

Iiyama are good, but these days I think Samsung beat them. My current Samsung LCD is amazing. I've had it two years now and I haven't seen anything better yet. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity. | |

Some people who work in graphics still swear by their old top of the line CRT monitors when it comes to color. I wasn't impressed with LCD's when they first came out, but they have gotten better. | |
