Jenna Rose I'm not sure how many of you are aware of Jenna Rose. In case some of you don't know who she is then she's a 12 yrs old (You Tube) singer. I actually wish I hadn't heard of her and not because of her singing talent so much for her recent choice of song and accompanying video. Take a look at he first video for "My Jeans". I recommend you only watch a few parts of it or you will hate me for a very long time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DwT_2QQU64 Now watch her most recent video for her song O.M.G. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDulhduiDQw I'm very curious to know if I'm in a minority to believe that O.M.G is wrong on so many levels that I actually believe child welfare should get involved? Long live the Brown Coats.

I can't listen to a song and tell what the commercial possibilities are. I don't know how "good" this girl's singing is. What impresses me are the numbers the videos of this girl are generating on YouTube: MY JEANS: 2,652,773 O.M.G: 299,237 Those are huge numbers. I would assume/guess this young girl could have a strong career. I don't know how long it would last, but she appears to be a pre-teen sensation/star/whatever.

Well... that's two minutes of my life I'll never get back. I think I'll go pierce my eardrums with Q-tips and have a stiff drink. If this is what passes for music these days, I won't be needing to hear any more...

I don't think Pat was complaining about the music but rather about the moral value, or lack thereof, when it came to a twelve year old performing it in those videos. I couldn't comment because I don't understand a word they sing/talk these days. So if your comment was in connection with the lyrics, sorry Pat, I can't join you in your sincere outrage for that reason.

Even as a teenager I often had trouble understanding all the lyrics of many songs. So when I listened to the videos Pat linked, I was listening to the sounds, and not even trying to understand what the words meant. I understood that Pat was focusing on the morality of a pre-teen singing something, but unless there are close-captions available for the words, whatever the girls were singing about passed me by completely. But I am impressed by the number of hits these videos are getting.

I didn't really listen to My jeans very much because my head might have imploded but I made the ultimate sacrifice and I watched the entire OMG video. I feel a little dirty after doing it but then again I'm not that interested in watching a 12 yrs old offer to sell her soul for commercial success. If Jenna was a 17yrs old singer doing what she does in the video OMG then I wouldn't like it but I at least could understand it. I really don't understand how anyone would consider what she did in that video to be acceptable behavior for a 12yrs old. By the way she's introduced as Jenna Rose the Boom Boom Love Doll...Mmm I wonder if they mean that Jenna is a 12yrs old sex doll? I guess they must because that's what I normally associte with the expression boom boom. For those who asked then here are the lyrics: Just take a picture, baby, Look at what I'm wearing, Just take a picture baby, No need for staring. You know that you want to, you know that you need to, It will last longer for you. Baby say it now, Oh my god, she looks good, (omg she looks good) Oh my God, you know you wish you could ( Baby Say it now) Oh my God She looks good, Oh my God, you know you wish you could, but you can't be like this. Oh, come on by the crib, The girls start looking dib Just shaking that boom boom. Going all around and around and back again. All the way around and around and back again All the way around and around and back again,(what) again,(what),again. Don't be hating on me, no need to fake it, Playing that games upon me, may they mistake it. They know that they love me, they know that they hate me, No matter what, I am a sta-a-r. Baby Say it now. Oh my god, she looks good, (omg she looks good) Oh my God, you know you wish you could ( Baby Say it now) Oh my God She looks good, Oh my God, you know you wish you could, but you can't be like this. Oh, come on by the crib, The girls start looking dib Just shaking that boom boom. Going all around and around and back again. All the way around and around and back again All the way around and around and back again,(what) again,(what),again. Beep Beep Toot Toot Beep Beep Toot Toot Boom Boom Just take the picture baby, take the picture It'll last longer. All the way around and around and back again All the way around and around and back again,(what) again,(what),again (what) Again. Oh, come on by the crib, The girls start looking dib Just shaking that boom boom. Going all around and around and back again. All the way around and around and back again All the way around and around and back again,(what) again,(what),again (what) Again. Oh, come on by the crib, The girls start looking dib Just shaking that boom boom. Going all around and around and back again. All the way around and around and back again All the way around and around and back again,(what) again Long live the Brown Coats.

Thanks, Pat. I understand your revulsion now. Definitely not appropriate for a twelve year old.

Kind of reminds me of Melissa Cherry and her consecutive hits, "Down on My Knees" and "Take Me From Behind." I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

"OhMyGod, you know you wish you could" - this is so scandalously wrong - hilarious, though And I see that Youtube disabled the comments - gee, I wonder why? The "My Jeans" song is a lot more age-appropriate, much less pervy Edited on Apr 01, 2011, 04:47pm

The amazing thing is that you don't hear a peap from any government agency about this video which I consider to be just a stone throw away from child pornography and yet they have no problem accusing and prosecuting a couple of people who's occupation happens to be porn producers. A business which last I checked is legal and earns many states well needed tax dollars. A business that hires only adults and distributes their products only to aduults. Now tell me the US legal system isn't Fucked up six ways to sunday? Long live the Brown Coats.

Have you ever heard a peep about child beauty pageants? - believe me, they're much closer to child pornography than this vid - and they're a huge business in the US

^Don't get me started on those things. I think you are being too generous in saying that they are close to child pornagraphy because I think they are child pornography. They just hide it behind the illusion that it's a beauty pageant for children. No offense but when you dress a 6yrs old child like an adult and put enough makeup to make Tammy faye Baker jealous so that all you see is a small woman than you have crossed the morality line. Just visit this link to see just horrible a situation this is: http://tlc.discovery.com/videos/toddlers...-season-3-webisodes/ Long live the Brown Coats.

Well it's pretty obvious this girl probably did not write any of her songs. It's probably just the mom or some sick producer using a ghost writer and creating this rubbish. I think the weight of the blame for this young gal singing such provocative songs lies with the parenting (or lack there of). It's obvious the parents just want their young girl to succeed in the music industry by any means necessary to make them rich. If they had any care about their daughter and her talents, they would let her do her own songs with her own written lyrics which would probably end up being the complete opposite of this. Oh well, it won't be the first time parents try to cash in on having their innocent little daughter do such themed music...if anything, the ages will only get younger and more dirtier if this style of music stays popular...ughhhh Sexted From My iPad

I'm with GCode, its not like this age inapproriate stuff is all that new, Britney Spears was pretty slutted up well before she was of age, I don't think 12, but still. Watch some high school or middle school cheerleading sometime, you'll be hard pressed not to feel like a pedophile at some point during some of these "routines". I just can't stand all this autotune garbage, someone in my office was listening to that equally horrible and inane Friday song yesterday and I was about ready to pour my coffee on them. And 10 years ago I thought that surely music would never get worse than the Backstreet Boys. Bunny Lebowski: I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars. Brandt: Ah hahahahaha! Wonderful woman. We're all, we're all very fond of her. Very free-spirited.

I don't think Jenna wrote that song. That dubious honor goes to Ark Music factory. These are the people behind such amazing hits as Jenna's My Jeans and who can forget the God awful song "Friday" by Amanda Black. This studio basically takes any person with a modicum of talent and parents that have some cash and record a song which they then post on You Tube so that it can go viral. It must work because I read that Friday has made at least 700,000$ in profits. The only thing I'm not completely sure is whether the artist gets a percentage of a set fee. In any case these people are real creepy bastards for doing that video with Jenna. Long live the Brown Coats.

I agree! So much of what passes for music these days is more like manufactured crap. I remember hearing an interview with someone in the music industry who said that younger people are missing out on hearing people actually sing - the recorded music and even the live stuff is so doctored up that it isn't real anymore. And don't waste your coffee. Go nuclear on them: blast them with powerhouses like the Allman Brothers (the original band with Dickie Betts) or go thermo-nuclear on them and blast them with some super-funk-a-delic Parliament. Let Bootsy Collins go medieval on their ass.

It's nothing new. You just have to look at Britney who's made a career lyp syncing. I wonder where she would be if she had to rely on her singing talent? I just find that it's more pervasive these days because of itunes. The business model that everyone says saved the music industry is also responsible for making stars out of artist that would have been laughed at 10yrs ago and hits out of songs that wouldn't have made it to the bargain bin at Walmart. Nobody minds paying a 1$ for a crappy song because it's only a dollar. Of course when a million people do it then that crappy song becomes a hit. Porn isn't any better. How many times do you still see sites offer 1$ memberships? You can still make a lot of money even if you only make 10 cents out of each dollar because of the amount of people willing to spend only 1$ on porn. Long live the Brown Coats.

Maybe I'm an old fart, but I'd rather pay for quality. I remember my wife bought the first Britney disk when it came out. She listened to it once and now it sits on a shelf. There is nothing about the music that makes it durable. It isn't art, it is just a commodity.
