Star Wars Talk I felt I had to start one. I won't be able to see it this weekend, but I will be seeing it soon. Has anyone seen it yet? What did you think (no spoilers)? I watched the first three to get back into the mood. Anyone else gone full Jedi? Listen to Buried At Sea.

OK, I admit it. I haven't seen any Star Wars movies. Not one. But I have seen Spaceballs a million times. That has to count for something.

Ok so it was freaking amazing. George Lucas is a terrible script writer and a passable director. JJ on the other hand hits the ball out of the freaking park. It gave you everything you could want in a new chapter. I love how they paid homage to 1 and 4 by having similar things happen (MANY similar things). Which tells me this is probably almost another trilogy and 9 will pay homage to 2 and 5. JJ was kept on a tight leash (No visual flashes no mindless action) and it really worked well for him. It seems like all of his good directorial style made it to film with very little of the bad. The script was VERY tight. They also managed to introduce some new foundation material without answering too many questions or spoiling too much future movie potential. The movie was well paced had me gripping my seat and was long so it was worth its value. While it is not the best movie I have seen this year it is top 10 and well worth a watch. I watch every movie that comes out so take that with a grain of salt. 1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

You can be forgiven for never having watched Star wars seeing as it is primarily targeted toward the male market and I guess you can be given some S.W. points for having watched Spaceballs so many times. In fact you should be commended for having watched one of the best spoof movies of all time and an extremely funny and intelligent film. If you do decide (or get tricked) to watch Star Wars than please, at all, cost avoid watching the prequels. They are seriously bad and will just confuse the hell out of you. Start with the '77 Star wars and end with the new Force Awakens. In case you don't watch the prequels but are really curious to know just how horrendously bad they are than take a look at the review on the below link. Be advised that you will need a few hours to watch all 3 reviews and you also need to have a pretty weird sense of humour but seeing as you love Spaceballs than I feel safe in saying that it's not a problem. http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/ Long live the Brown Coats.

What made the original trilogy great was the story and the character development. This new movie throws that completely out the window in exchange for a run-of-the-mill mindless action flick full of easily predictable, rehashed plots, and glaring continuity problems. This new movie is gross exploitation of Star Wars fans who deserve much, much better. Saw it, will not see again. Edited on Dec 19, 2015, 09:36pm

My wife and I toyed around with the idea of making some e-book parodies. Not gonna happen, but here's what we came up with anyways. Star Whores - A New Ho Star Whores - The Empire Strikes Crack Star Whores - Return of the Pink Eye Star Whores - The Phantom Penis Star Whores - Attack of the Bones Star Whores - Revenge of the Fist Star Whores - The Parts Awaken The Force Awakens was awesome too. There is never going to be a Star Wars sequel that will make everyone happy, but this is much better than the last three. Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off.

Thanks for the recommendation, pat362. I have heard that the prequels are not that impressive...

That might be the understatement of the year. I think most of us S.W. fans would have gladly taken an unimpressive series of prequel movies to what we were finally subjected to. I wish I could impart just how bad those 3 prequel movies are but I could never do as good a job as the reviewer on the link I gave you. I recommend you visit the site and simply play the video reviews in the background while you work on something else. At some point you will want to see what he`s talking about but if nothing else you will get an in depth analysis of the prequels. Long live the Brown Coats.

I saw The Force Awaken this afternoon and it is an amazing movie. It feels like it's a mixture of Star wars, Empire and return all rolled into a new movie but where now some of the iconic roles are going to be played by a bunch of new actors. I don't want to reveal too much of the story because it's hard to do without revealing spoilers. There are quite a few funny moments with some sadness intermixed with all the action. I'll definitely have to see it a second time to catch some of the stuff that I'm sure I missed but I don't think the movie even bothered to acknowledge the prequels. Hopefully we won't have to wait two years to see a sequel because that would really suck. Long live the Brown Coats.

The prequels got progressively better. I would say the final 20 minutes of Revenge Of The Sith (you know, the moment the entire 3-film, 7 hour trilogy is ostensibly building towards) are really bad ass, plus many of the fight sequences in all three films are very good. Listen to Buried At Sea.
