I don't recall ever getting the message: "Do not honor." from a credit card that was declined. However, I have had many occasions where credit cards were declined. The main reason was the credit card company declined the transaction. Because they thought the transaction might be fraud. Many credit cards view any transaction processed by CCBill, Epoch, or other processors for porn sites as suspicious. There have been times when I tried to join a site, and submitted 3 or 4 different credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover) before one was finally accepted. Sometimes there is little sense when a card is declined. I've joined using a specific Mastercard that has a monthly charge to Epoch, and when I tried to use that card to join another porn site serviced by Epoch, that Mastercard was declined, and I had to call the credit card company because they had placed a lock on the account for suspicious activity (making a payment to Epoch). I'm rambling. The normal reason a credit card is declined is because the credit card company declines the transaction, suspecting fraud. Try using a different credit card to join. Sometimes you have to try to use 3 or 4 credit cards, before one is accepted. I seriously doubt CCBill is declining the transaction. Unless you entered your card information incorrectly. The normal reason a card is declined is because the credit card company suspects fraud, (also, credit card companies don't like charges for porn sites because the charge-back rate is too high). | |

If you really wish to use a specific credit card, and it is declined, you can call the credit card customer service, explain that you want to make a purchase, and that the transaction was declined. They should then be able to authorize the card to be used. The details will depend on what card company/bank you are dealing with. PayPal, for many years, would not allow any transactions used to pay for a porn membership. Then they changed policy to allow payment for porn memberships, and then later, I don't know the specific details, but only allowed certain memberships to be paid, while dis-allowing others. But if you want to use a specific card (which you have used in the past for porn memberships), and the card is declined in a future transaction, call the credit card company, and they should tell you how to use the card (since you have told them the transaction is authorized by you--which eliminates the fraud element). | |

The only other reason I know of where CCBill would decline a card is if you have ever disputed a charge or demanded a refund in the past then they would black list your card. It happened to me something like 10 or 12 years ago, the one and only time I've ever felt ripped off by a site and demanded a refund within 5 minutes of joining, next time I went to join a site through CCBill the card was declined. | |

You might want to call the credit card company to check on the account. Sometimes, the credit card company will place a block on the account, if there is suspicious activity (which is why your card was declined). What I mean is, your credit card account might have a block on it. So it's better to call the credit card company, to check on the status of the card. Otherwise, if you try to use the card, and it's been blocked, you need to have the account unblocked, before any future transactions will be approved. Or else, you can walk around with a bunch of credit cards, so if your card is declined, you can always give them some other card. Unless you want to pay cash. Joke. But it can happen. | |

I would venture to guess that most anyone who joins porn sites with any frequency has run into the same problem. Banks and credit card companies have seemingly similar algorithms to detect fraud. A porn credit card transaction immediately draws a red flag. Another factor is probably the frequency in joining such sites... any extreme will draw a flag. As was stated, the simplest solution is to call the bank and tell them to allow the transaction to go through. That is, if you don't mind a half dozen security questions. On a related note, I never once noticed a site that accepts American Express, my preferred method of payment in general. I'm guessing that it's either that Amex won't do business with the porn industry or that the discount fees charged by Amex are too steep. | |

Smaller business in the uk often don't take it. Sometime ago they took around 10% versus around 4% standard. T. | |
