Anyone like to see this for streaming-only sites? Streaming-only sites are my biggest bugbear in porn today. I don't want to join a site where I can't download my favourties to keep, especially when so many charge the same as sites that do allow you to download. In listings, The Best Porn gives you little warning badges for sites which tell you if the site uses DRM, has cross-sales, or has a very limited trial. As streaming-only sites are in some way worse than DRM, which at least allows you to download in some way even if restricted, would anyone agree with me that they'd like to see TBP and PU use a similar warning badge in the listing for streaming-only sites? That way I can dismiss the site without getting my hopes up only to find I can't download. A similar badge for sites with no independent billng merchant might also be good as I won't use those sites either - don't trust them. I'd love to encourage sites to allow downloading and use trusted independent billers and I think this could help. Anyone agree?

Hey GPL, what has happened to me on more then one occasion is the site did not disclose this. I joined and found I was not about to DL the movies, I was creative and acquired the content in a more difficult way. But was not happy to spend the time needed to do that. I am not sure why any sites would do that now days. Thats like ordering a coffee at Starbucks, and they let you only smell the coffee not drink it. Since 2007

Absolutely! Would be nice to know that a site is streaming only before subscribing to it .. and a special mention in PU and TBP's pages would be very helpful. To me a warning in blazing red with a huge exclamation mark would be just about right!

While I agree with the idea of some sort of obvious warning of sites that don't allow downloads, I completely disagree with this analogy. If you've watched the video, you've consumed the content. Doesn't matter if it's streamed or downloaded. In my idea of a "perfect porn world", download only sites would cost less than sites with download options (and maybe even offer an addition pay-per-minute option completely separate from the monthly membership for the people who are literally just looking for something to watch right now and don't need to pay for a full month).

Absolutely agree about a PU warning. I would never join a streaming only site. Sometimes it is unclear when no downloads are allowed. Sites are hardly going to be up front about this as it's going to put off potential customers. Another example of sites being dishonest - or at least economical with the truth, and that is what drives customers to free downloading, because they mistrust the porn industry.

Hmmmm -- We'll keep the idea of adding some kind of "little warning badge" as an option for a future upgrade. However ... That info is already available on the TBP Listing page when we know it. As mentioned by Cybertoad (above), site owner's are not always forthcoming with the fact that their video content is streaming only. So, there are times when we don't know and then its not reflected on a site's listing. But when we know it, we share that info and imo, it's made pretty obvious. Let's look at an example: Digital Playground We go to the site's TBP listing page: https://www.thebestporn.com/review/digitalplayground Now, since we're interested in the site's video, we look under the section of Site Facts named "VIDEOS" (clever how we work that, huh? There we see: Format #1: Flash (in-browser), bit unknown, 960x540 (streaming) (note the word "streaming") Now for an important point -- there is no Format #2 Generally, if a site allows downloads you'll see several formats listed. Each is indicated with "streaming", "downloadable" or "dl or stream". That is usually your first indication that a site's content is streaming only. Next, keeping w/in the "VIDEOS" section, we look at the field for DRM and we see: DRM: Does not apply. No downloads available. (you'll note the bold and red both show on the actual listing page) Beyond that, the TBP Reviewers know this info is important to users so they generally will bring it to your attention. In our example here, in Vanessa's review, the #1 Con shows as: No Downloads Available. So, you see, in our mind we do try to make it easy for users to determine when a site's content is streamimg only. If you're not looking at the TBP Listing page for a site you're interested in ... well ... we'll just say we always encourage users to check the TBP listing page for any site they're checking out. Hope something in there helps. I always look to see if a site offers streaming only content and if it's not obvious and the site has no review then I won't join because the chances are that they are streaming only. Look at the SCor groups of sites. Unless you look at TBP or a PU review then nowhere will you see that the bulk of their content is streaming only. I got burned because of that and I will never join any of the sites ever again. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice and shame on me. Long live the Brown Coats.

Would never join a streaming-site-only. And never did, mainly thanks to TBP - and have to agree with Khan - TBP helps - and doing fine with: "No downloads available."...you just got to through those infos more carefully.... "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

Seems to me, it's been done On every TBP review under DRM is will state whether DRM is a factor, and will say " no DRM, Streaming only. Since reading TBS reviews, I've never stumbled upon a streaming only site. Without TBP and PU, I wouldn't bee near the aficionado that I am. I am in your debt! M unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.
