Porn memberships during the pandemic: the good and the bad Since most of us here are porn collectors and regularly subscribe to sites I’m just curious how the pandemic is affecting your buying habits. The good news for me is that there do seem to be some deals being offered and I’m taking advantage of some of those. But, I’m also having to be more careful in thinking about the value of those memberships before I take the plunge. I had a monthly subscription to two Mike Adriano sites, Swallowed and Nympho that both were set to expire last week. I currently have a membership to a third Mike site, True Anal. The pandemic and self-isolation began midway through my subscriptions and exclusive updates stopped. It seems that these sites have no reserve of scenes. Mike has four sites (the three I mentioned and All Anal) and the sites I had/have memberships at were substituting scenes from the other sites as their regular updates. For someone new to one of these sites that would be a good deal and I certainly don’t begrudge the sites for doing that, but for me, as a regular subscriber to all four of those sites, the scenes from the sister sites are ones I already had. The other site where I’m a member that is affected is Hookup Hotshot. For those who don’t know the site, it’s pretty much a one-man operation. HUHS usually updates weekly but for the past three weeks the updates have been BTS shoots of the model getting ready and interacting with the male talent/site owner. Once again, I don’t begrudge HUHS for doing this. For one, I like the HUHS BTS stuff and for another, I accept that this is also a site that wouldn’t have a large backlog of scenes that could be uploaded. I did do something stupid a couple of weeks ago though. I opened my email and saw a great deal for a three month membership to two of my favourite sites – Amateur Allure and Swallow Salon. Those sites are related for those not familiar with them. It was a deal that was too good to pass up. But… in my haste to join I didn’t consider that these are sites that will likely run out of updates soon too. Sure enough, the weekly Swallow Salon update on Friday was a scene that was uploaded at Amateur Allure back in January. Uh oh… this great deal may not be so great now. Oh well, at least I can take some comfort in knowing that I’m helping them out. But there is also good news. As one of our fellow PU members noted earlier this week, Nubiles Films was offering a decent deal. I checked my subscription list and noted that I haven’t been a member there in three years so even if they stop updating it’s a great value. Sold! I also have a current membership to Jules Jordan but they seem to be maintaining a normal upload schedule. Even if they run out of new stuff I’d be perfectly happy (VERY happy, in fact) if JJV opened up more of their back catalogue. I’ll likely rejoin Evil Angel soon because I suspect that they’ll be able to sustain a reasonable upload schedule for a while yet. So the bottom line for me is that I appreciate the deals being offered by sites and I’m happy to support them, but on a go-forward basis I’m going to be more strategic and careful. My subscribing history over the past few years has changed a bit in that I have a group of sites that I cycle through so this will be a chance to rejoin some sites I don’t join often like Pierre Woodman’s sites and FTV Girls. How about you? Any good or bad experiences with porn memberships in the pandemic so far? | |

President Trump is pushing the states to open up faster for regular, or more open, business, and to relax the stay-at-home rules faster. That's good and bad. Good, if it increases the freedom of people to go out. Bad, or horrible, because even if the virus problem seems to be leveling off currently, it could easily come back up again. The virus vaccine is supposed to be around a year or more away from development, testing, and then being distributed. If you read the thread I posted on the movie industry "The coronavirus end is not a simple thing", you will see that the end of the coronavirus probably won't be months away, but the effects could be a year or more. So even if porn production restarts within a few months, it could take a year or more for the porn industry to recover. And many sites, because of reduced revenue, could go under. That's just my thinking. But I think Trump and his administration are not considering the harmful effects of relaxing the restrictions of stay-at-home. And some state governors are going along with his thinking. So if more people die, than necessary, they will shed a tear and tell people to be brave. But as pat pointed out, if you pay for a long-term membership in today's market, you are taking a risk. Not just on updates, but whether the site will still be alive. The financial meltdown in 2008 (because of the housing bubble) destroyed many porn sites. This virus crisis is just as bad. Except that the US is paying out trillions of dollars (a trillion is a 1,000 billion) in aid, much of which has no real financial oversight, and a lot of it could be wasted. In the 2008 financial crisis, over 175 billion dollars (in taxpayer funds) went to support the failing financial firms in the US, and a lot of that money went to pay bonuses to the idiots who caused the crisis. Banks paid $32.6 billion in bonuses during the U.S. bailout. That was a large chunk of the money given to them to support them; otherwise, the banks would have been wiped out. So instead of punishing the idiots for causing the crisis, they were rewarded with billions of dollars in bonuses. Our government at work. Edited on Apr 21, 2020, 08:54am | |

^I have enjoyed many deals in recent weeks because I'm stuck at home until probably early May and there is only so much computer gaming I can do before I want to do something else. The good news is that I've got more time to surf for porn but the bad news is that there are a lot less sources for new porn so it doesn't take very long to find which sites has added new stuff and which one haven't. I would recommend that most fans avoid buying any long term membership even if they think it helps the producers during these difficult because if that's what you want to do then buy one for different sites that you like instead because you will help more people. I'm all for being understanding during the pandemic but I would be very nervous about any producer who can't actually add at least one new scene every 2-3 weeks because that may mean that he didn't have much in the can to begin with and if that is the case then was he already close to going out of business? Case in point Bryan's site. A new member might be okay with not getting new stuff because he will still get access to a great library of content but any returning member who bough his/her membership at the end of march may be very disappointed with only BTS content. My fear is that most producer didn't have as much content in the can as they pretend and they will run out before they can shoot more stuff. Case in point EA who for years has basically been a distributor of other producers content and since their sources are in lockdown then they won't be getting new stuff from them anytime soon. I have mostly changed the sites I regularly join except FTV and Zishy. FTV hasn't slowed their updates at all and are still releasing faster than they used to (was weekly), they average a new update every 5-6 days now. Zishy continues to show his forward-thinking. He started a promotion where the models take pictures of themselves while quarantined and it's going over very well with the members. He's had 25 contestants enter over the last 10 days and uploaded all of them. On that note, he hasn't had an update in 2 days since the last of those quarantined contestants. Most everything else I've been joining are either new(er) sites or Asian sites. My first time I jacked off, I thought I'd invented it. I agree but sometimes my rational thought goes out the window. That's what happened when I saw the 90 offers for both Amateur Allure and Swallow Salon. Had I walked away from that offer for even a few minutes I'd have probably avoided it. My thinking that I'm helping the site is just my way of making myself feel better...  | |

FTV Girls is definitely on my 'join' list for the pandemic. I haven't been a member there for about 18 months so it'll still be a great value even if they stop updating for a while. | |

I too am lamenting the slowdown in new production. But it has given me the opportunity to revisit some of my favorite sites to scour their back vaults for material of interest that I missed the first time around. I'm thinking particularly of the mega-sites like Brazzers, Reality Kings, PornPros, etc. Some of this older material seems to have been remastered since the first time I went thru them. Sturgeon's law (proposed by science fiction writer Theodore Sturgeon) said ninety percent of everything is crap. He was defending the fact science fiction was criticized as being of low quality, and said science fiction was no different from other art, that 90% of everything is crap. Well, it looks like my zeal to join two of favourite sites (Amateur Allure and Swallow Salon) on an email deal that was too good to say no to has turned into a deal that is too good to be true thanks to the pandemic. Today's AA update is an older scene from SS and today's SS update is an older scene from AA. In future, I'll think before joining a site... | |

I joined a few sites long term just before all this overly hyped crap started, updates slowed then stopped on a couple sites but I've seen that the majority of these sites are posting updates from sister sites or have partnered up with other sites to keep updates going. I don't mind this at all, It is an attempt to keep customers happy and shows that they care about us by giving us our moneys worth. All the idiots complaining calling it a scam or fraud wouldn't be complaining if it was a video that they haven't seen before. These jerks crying would also complain if the site went dead until restrictions lifted, It's a no win situation for the companies. Some asswipe was ranting and raving on teamskeet claiming fraud and scamming customers and demanding a free membership until new scenes start posting regularly. Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.
