Bad News About Stephanie Swift - An all-time fave of mine From X-Biz - I'll copy rather than link in case there's ads for somthing that PU doesn't want ads about: By Tod Hunter Thursday, Aug 13, 2009 Text size: NEW YORK -- Veteran performer Stephanie Swift has been diagnosed with breast cancer and told XBIZ that she is considering a double mastectomy "because I don't want to go through this again." Swift, 37, has been a performer since 1995. She discovered the tumor doing a breast self-exam. "I was watching those City of Hope commercials at 3 or 4 in the morning, watching TV and studying my script," Swift told XBIZ. "I said 'OK, fine, I'll check.' I checked my right breast and I checked my left breast, and there it was. "People say, 'Stay positive' but it doesn't matter. It is what it is. It's already benign or malignant. Whatever your attitude is or however you feel about it, there's nothing you can do. It's there." Doctors found a 1 centimeter tumor in her left breast. "I saw it on the ultrasound, and it looks like a little pea," Swift said. Swift's mother works at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., and she plans to be treated there. "I've been getting consultations over there and I've elected to do a full double mastectomy, because I don't want to go through this again," Swift said. "I'm on emergency status right now. You're supposed to be operated on no more than a month after you're biopsied, and it's been three. "The reason I'm waiting for my surgery is that they want so much up front." Swift wants to make a documentary about her illness. "I'm talking to Nica at Sweetheart Films and they're possibly interested. I definitely want to document everything that I'm going through. I know for a fact that this can help someone else, because I'm not the only person this is going to happen to. "My father died of cancer and anything that has to do with cancer, I need to be involved." Swift also said she wants to start a nonprofit organization to help raise money for her surgery and help people in similar circumstances. "I want to start a scholarship fund and I want to start a foundation for other people that things happen to," Swift said. "Any kind of tragedy. It doesn't have to be cancer. There are things that happen to people and they have nothing to fall back upon in our business. I want to put that in my name. It's important to me that I do that." A fund has been set up to assist Swift with her medical bills. Checks should be made out to Swift's mother, Heidi Clark, and sent to: Stephanie Swift Cancer Fund P.O. Box 9864 Canoga Park, CA 91309 All who contribute $100 or more will receive a free copy of "Stephanie Loves Girls," from Sweetheart Films an all-girl video featuring Swift, Elexis Monroe and Satine Phoenix. "Stephanie Swift is one of the greatest performers in the history of adult films," Jon B., owner of Sweetheart Video and Sweet Sinner Films, said. "She has starred in many of our productions, and we consider her part of the family. We're deeply saddened by this news." My comment: Cancer's a mother-fucker. My mother battled breast cancer successfully a number of years ago with great attitude. Then my father was killed a year later by cancer of the pancreas. One of my favorite cousins was killed a few months ago by bone cancer. It had been discovered when she was battling breast cancer - around the same time as my mother, but for some reason they couldn't - or didn't - do anything about it then. Who knows? Bad business, that's for sure! | |

I agree, cancer is bullshit. Not to start a conspiracy thread but there has to be a care out there. My worry is that someone is being greedy and holding it to cash in on treatments. No woman, or man, should have to even think about having their breasts removed. What is worse is that people have to live with it in the back of their minds that it can happen, especially those who have had family members deal with it. In this instance cancer is removing this woman from being able to perform her job. I hope she can kind the means to get through all this. It is a double smack in the face for her though and no one deserves it. This PU'er declares that cancer is an asshole because it does nothing but shit on good people. Hopefully there is a dick out there that can plug cancer's ass. Thoughts go out to Stephanie not because she is a pornstar but because she is a person. This is what makes me crazy! Just watched the news again where people wail and howl and cry and protest in town hall meetings and see the proposed Health Care changes in the U.S. as a diabolical plot by Obama and the left and here we have someone in emotional and physical turmoil over cancer who has to wait past her time because she doesn't have the money required up front. It really shocked me when I read the news and I agree with you that no one should have to make the decision that she has made. In Stephanie's case, I think that removal of both breast may be the best thing in the long run. The fact that her Dad died from cancer means that she is more prone to the disease. Since she got cancer in one breast then she might get it in that breast or in the other one as well. Complete ablation of both breast becomes a wise decision. It is possibly one of the thoughest decision a woman has to face and I salute her courage. On a more positive note. plastic surgeons can reconstruct the breasts after her treatmenst are done. My prayers go with her, her family and friends in this very difficult time. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Your post and the article by PP set me off and I could kick myself for responding but I get angry when people suffer needlessly .. therefore my remarks above. I'll let it rest there. | |

While we can disagree on what needs to be done with the health care system in the US, if anything, I believe we should agree that this is a terrible thing for this woman and others to go through. Just a small adder to this story. It seems that after Stephanie Swift had her double masectomy. The doctors discovered that she has cancer in her lymph nodes as well. She is scheduled to undergo an operation in September to remove them. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Yeah, I read a follow-up where they found that she has a particularly malignant forum of the disease. As I said originally, cancer is a mother-fucker. I sure wish her the best, though she's getting the worst these days. At least she's getting treatment. | |
