Selling Your Porn Collection. With everyone on here posting how much stuff they have I wondered do ppl sell there collections on the HD's? Or is that not legal? Let me specify I mean to sell the collection and delete what you have. Not bootlegging, but to discard your old and get new ?? I delete allot over the years and part with it, and I read where others delete it as well? Can't it be sold if we are discarding it? Not sure the legalities and such. PS if its legal I have never heard and if it not havent heard that either? If I own Dvd's I can sell them? so why not digital if I delete it? Thanks Since 2007

I'm not a lawyer but ... I think you'll find it's not legal. Generally, a site membership grants you PERSONAL access to their content and that access is not transferable. You would also (likely) be violating copyright laws by (re)distributing content you downloaded from a pay site. Not to mention the legal questions raised by you "republishing" adult images and video w/out the necessary 2257 related documents. If you were talking about DVD's you're purchased and wanted to sell, that be different but downloaded material, I'd guess would be WAY out of line. You have no real "rights" to the content other than to view it (personally). I think Khan nailed that on the head. This is usually spelled out in the term of a site. Now if you intended to say, sell your hard drive without making a copy first...I do not know how that would work out? One thought I did have before was to download a site and if people wanted it, give it too them, but but actually sign them up for the site so that the respective owners of the content are compensated. I would think this would be beneficial to all three parties. I might make a buck because of time, the person would get the site fast without having to do the work, and the site would still get paid but not have to pay any extra bandwidth fees to their service provider. I have seen people selling stuff on ebay before, but frankly they seem to want too much and I do not exactly trust someone how is selling something that is not even legal to sell. Either way, I say to keep clear of that because no matter how good your intentions are someone will see it as an opportunity to sue you. I would strongly caution against it UNLESS you had received ADVANCE permission (preferably in writing) from the actual site(s). Former PornUsers Senior Administrator Now at: MyPorn.com "To get your ideas across use small words, big ideas, and short sentences."-John Henry Patterson

Of course, I am not overly excited about the idea of being sued or blacklisted from porn sites. It would be more work than it is worth to try to do this effectively, so it was mostly just a "hum...what if" sort of thing.
