Are European commercials more liberal?

http://www.youtube.com/user/rofllzone?v=9W8rnwo3M6g

This must be a European commercial.
In the US, they say that sex sells.
But most commercials from major brands (except for Victoria's Secret) don't show a lot of skin.
But this commercial, for Burger King, while not showing much skin, seems to push the boundaries, in a fun way.

Any comments from our European friends? Have you seen this commercial, or ones like it?

Or do they reserve commercials like this one to cable channels?

I can't speak for modern Europe or for individual countries in Europe, since I left Europe before there were any TV commercials but I can say that the basic attitude then was: sex is fine, violence isn't.

We had reputable weekly magazines at home on our coffee table that contained pages of nudes, often on the cover, and no one thought twice about it.

Funny thing, once Television established itself there was actually censoring or outright banning of some Warner Bros. cartoons like the roadrunner etc. because of the cartoon violence.

I guess Governments tend to go overboard once in a while in every culture.

Anyway, if I had to bet I would say that in most European countries sexy ads would be fine while violence would still be frowned upon. But things can change in 50+ years!

Unfortunately, probably driven by US culture, we seem to be at a 180 to those tenets at the moment.

When I was in France last year many of the commercials seemed a good bit racier than they could ever put on here without American's for Family American's America Foundation or whatever the hell speaking up vocally for the extreme minority. I think they generally have a healthier perspective on sex there. Although that may be unique to France, the UK always seemed a bit more conservative to me. Bunny Lebowski: I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars.
Brandt: Ah hahahahaha! Wonderful woman. We're all, we're all very fond of her. Very free-spirited.
