metrohd.com sold my email address I joined Metrohd.com a couple weeks ago and holy crap! I have been getting blown up every freaking day by spam emails that are not being filtered out by my gmail app or comcast account. I've been doing the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page but I think that's just sending it to others as it just gets more unwanted emails. I have since set up a porn receipt email for future use. So be warned! Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should. I read years ago that you should never hit the "unsubscribe link" at the bottom of a spam page. There were a lot of reasons for not hitting the link. I don't remember all of them. But: 1. Hitting the unsubscribe link tells the spammer that your email address is active, that someone is using it. 2. Hitting the unsubscribe link doesn't usually work the way it's supposed to. It does not reduce your spam, but increases it. You can still get spam from the spammer, plus he/she can sell your email address to other spammers, as a live email address. 3. Hitting the link can also send a lot of information about your computer to the spammer. Your geographical location, computer operating system, maybe your ISP, whatever. So the best thing to do about spam, is to ignore it. If there is too much spam, you always get new email addresses, although if you have a lot of contacts, that can be a hassle notifying them about your new email address. Since I'm not very computer literate, there are probably methods to forward your email from an old email address to a new email address, but then you will also be forwarding the spam as well. I've noticed that my spam has increased in the virus time. I guess spammers need to keep busy. One of the benefits of living in the stay-at-home period is we get more spam to read. LOL. | |

I spent a few minutes checking. This looks a lot like Reality Kings and even uses their biller, Probill. Does Reality Kings sell your email address, anyone? A friend recommnded SuperAntiSpyware, the free edition. It gets rid of tracking cookies so spammers don't find you easily. It has worked wonders for me. Thanks for the reply Sir. I stopped using the unsubscribe link and the google mail app on my cell. I've been waiting until I get home and going directly to my comcast mail and report them as spam so that way they no longer clog my inbox. Your right it would be a pain to get a new address out to friends/family/work contacts. 2/3rds wouldn't catch the new address anyway. Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should. Thanks for the reply sir. You sound semi literate lol. I have stopped using the unsubscribe link and am also not using the gmail app on my cell anymore. I am just waiting until I get home and going to my comcast mail page and reporting the unopened mail as spam, at least that way it doesn't choke my inbox any more. It would be a pain to get a new address out to friends/family/coworkers as the majority of them would miss the new address and keep using the old one. Never had a problem with reality king in the multiple times I've joined the site Ma'am. I have also looked into metrohd and almost all of the reputable review sites have "exercised our right to not to do business with them anymore". I should've listened but dam they had a lot of good scenes with my favorite stars on the new family hookups site. Just a side note. I'm a member of Amazon Prime. I got an email today, it looked really good. Except that it said the credit card I had selected to pay my membership fee had expired. And that I needed to send them new information about what credit card to pay for the Prime membership, or my membership would be suspended. I called Amazon, they said the email was fake. I don't remember the technical term, spishing or something. But the email really looked good. Yeah I get that email a couple times a month. Also the term your looking for is phishing.
