Live Cam Shows! Some sites have introduced live cam shows for their members. On the surface that's a pretty neat idea but it doesn't work for me. I don't know how I managed to stay a prude all these years but I really get offended at the coarse requests made of the model of the day. It's live and I just squirm while anticipating her reaction. I must say, most of the time she will be a pro and not react adversely, but it sure makes me squirm inside. So one part of me wants to stay and watch a favorite model do her thing but the prudish part of me turns the show off after a couple of minutes. Are YOU ever offended by some of the comments or requests other viewers make, or do you say, big deal, that's part of the porn world .. put up with it or move on? Just curious. | |

You're a gentleman, messmer. I expect that any cam model would develop a pretty thick skin -- or else quit the job. It *is* disturbing to witness the abuse some of these models take. Clearly, there are a whole lot of men who have serious issues with women. Anonymity seems to bring out the worst in some. If I were a cam model, I'd have to adopt the attitude that I'm a paid actress -- a fictional character available for role play. That doesn't mean I'd fulfill the requests of extremists; but when a guy became rude, I'd dismiss him as a crank pathetic enough to engage in name-calling of a virtual model. I am not so sure about that gentleman business, Heather, but thanks. I grant you, however, that I am a gentle man who could never be verbally abusive to any woman (outside of play acting  ) and that includes cam models and porn actors and sex trade workers in general.BTW, I agree with you about web anonymity. It horrifies me how brutal, aggressive and insulting so many of my fellow human beings can be. Totally contrary to what I always believed before the Internet came along. The awkward factor on Cam sessions can be extremely high, much like the price, but in my (all be it limited) experience, most Cam models simply ignore guys that are aggressively offensive and instead respond to the guys that appear to actually be shopping or are at least asking genuine questions. Even if the question is a simple courtesy question like "How are you today?" I'd say most of the models are fans of the hard sell, trying to get you to put down money as quickly as possible, but occasionally you run across models that are bored and just want to chat - well they are almost all bored, but only some want to chat. That can be interesting and amusing as most of the models are from foreign countries and you can end up in some entertaining discussions. That said, I've never seen a model phased by the crazy shit people write and usually for every guy that calls them ugly or what-have-you, there are ten guys telling them they are beautiful. In short, I think they look at 99% of the comments as full of complete bull-shit and try not to let anything ruin their day. A shitty job is a shitty job, be it stripping naked on your bed in front of a laptop displaying every disturbing comment strangers type about you, or getting yelled at by a large, spitting fat man with bad breath about how you ruined his day because there was lettuce on his quadruple bacon cheeseburger. I don't really go on cam sites to be honest too much, only seen a few times and never paid but the ones I've been on mainly the diesel network and the guys on there actually were mainly respectful and didn't ask crude things, not that I saw. Its certainly not my thing though really as I feel its a bit of a con job and the prices are too expensive for what I can afford. There is no doubt that some guys go on cam shows just to make the models feel bad. Various sites deal with that in various ways. Some have mods that kick out the bad guys ASAP. Some models develop a vicious streak where they'll tear the bad guys to shreds and smile while doing so. One of the funnies things I ever saw was Karen Dreams destroying a guy that had come into her cam show to fuck with her, then turning around and pulling out a championship boxing belt from the bureau behind her and waving it over her head. Even models that seem to have thick skins often find camming quite bruising and will talk about that quite a bit in situations where they feel safe. Other models with thinner skins quit camming in order to avoid the abuse. I like sexy cam shows - mainly the ones that come with a site - but I don't like a lot of the people that go to them. | |

Hi Toadsith and Elephant, thanks for your thoughts, however I was not talking about cam sites in general but the free live cam shows offered by various sites to their subscribers. I don't go to the regular cam sites, ever .. not my cup of tea. | |

That's how I feel as well, PP. Same with many people who leave comments on picture sets and videos. Some must be masturbating as they make their comments while others are just plain abusive. I get embarrassed for them and for the models. | |

Many years ago Metart used to offer hours of free live cam shows every day. They were very popular with the members. They were moderated by someone working for Metart, and if anyone broke the rules, they were banned from participating. The members had to show respect to the models. No exceptions. The shows were often the best I've ever seen, for free. The models were often friendly, and had a real rapport with the audience. Unfortunately, those shows were discontinued years ago. | |

I'm not really interested in seeing cam girls break down - that, to me, is what too many guys WANT to see - it's like the schmucks who were so excited that they got Tanner Mayes to have a kiniption a couple of years ago, like that was some fucking achievement on their part. There are pretty funny things that happen at cam shows. Priscilla, a cute 18-year-old Phil-Flash model a number of years ago, was doing a cam show WHILE SHE WAS AT WORK at her straight job - and her boss came in the office and she's naked interacting with the cam show audience. He obviously figured out what was going on within seconds and just told her, "Get dressed - we have to talk!" She was just tongue-tied, though less freaked out than one would expect. All in all, that was pretty fucking funny. | |

^Neither did I. I guess some people have a different idea of what constitutes a joke but seing a human being lose it live on camera isn't one of mine. If I was contemplating trying a cam show even once then that video is enough for me to avoid them all. Long live the Brown Coats. | |
