RK wants you back

It's really annoying; I'm getting a lot of mails from some commpany:
'RK wants you back', 'Reduced rate to Brazzers', etc. But I AM a member of RK (Reality Kings) and I AM a member of Brazzers. So why am I getting these mails?
And yes I did click the Unsubscribe button but they keep on coming.

Well just wondering if I'm the only one getting these stupid mails. And some tips to stop them?

I GET SPAM/EMAIL OFFERS ALL THE TIME FROM SITES I AM CURRENTLY SUBSCRIBED TO, AS WELL AS FROM SITES I JOINED IN THE PAST.

MOST SITES DO NOT PUT ANY EFFORT INTO SEPARATING THEIR MAILING LISTS FOR PAST AND CURRENT SUBSCRIBERS.
TOO MUCH WORK, I GUESS, TO CHECK IF YOU ARE A CURRENT SUBSCRIBER, OR NOT.

MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO CHECK THOSE EMAILS AS SPAM, AND THEN DELETE THEM.

I'VE READ THAT IT'S A BAD IDEA TO CLICK THE UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT REASONS WHY THE UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON SHOULD NOT BE USED:
1. IT CONFIRMS THAT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS CURRENT AND VALID.
2. IT CAN GIVE THE RECIPIENT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM (A LOT OF INFORMATION THAT YOU DON'T REALIZE YOU ARE GIVING).
3. IT GIVES YOUR GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION (UNLESS YOU ARE USING SOME CLOAKING PROGRAM). Edited on Mar 13, 2017, 03:12am

I'm getting the same emails constantly too, even though I have active memberships at some of the sites. I guess their mailing lists aren't cross-referenced against active memberships. While I do find it annoying, the only thing worse than getting decent porn offers by email would be NOT getting decent porn offers by email.

I get them all the time. I don't mind if I get them while I'm a member as long as I still get them once I'm not. The price they have on those special offer is often lower than what you can get elsewhere but I got a special offer to join Jules Jordan and on the offer it said 50% off the regular price. I clicked on the link and the join price they have is 29.95$. I wasn't aware that Jules was now charging 60$ for a month membership. Long live the Brown Coats.

Just to follow up on what IK2fireone said - I have also heard it is not a good idea to hit the unsubscribe button - for those same reasons...

Also: do people use their main email address for their porn memberships. I personally created a completely separate one just for stuff like this so as not to have my main one filled with pornsite spam.

How about everyone else?

^I have had my email address since I first started going on the net and I refuse to change it to avoid getting junk mail. I get significantly less junk mail now than I used to. The sites that would have sent me stuff are now dead. Long live the Brown Coats.

Thanks to lk2fireone for the tip on not using unsubscribe.

I've also had my email address since forever, since the inception of gmail. I only had 1 email address before that. Surprisingly, I don't get much spam. I say surprisingly cuz I buy a ridiculous amount of stuff online not to mention subscribe to a lot of different lists. Gmail is pretty good at detecting spam and the other stuff I just mark as spam.

Having said that, some porn sites are relentless with emails. We should list the culprits, though in all fairness, I only got emails from sites I've subscribed to in the past. I don't mind it unless it's excessive. There was one that sent several offers daily. I marked it as spam and haven't heard back from them, at least in my inbox.

I have an old email account from the early days of Hotmail, all I use it for is things I fear will generate a lot of spam (porn, subscription services, online orders, airlines). Honestly, I have found a lot of airlines and hotels are worse than porn sites.

Made it all the way through my PhD program without ever receiving a single message of spam on my main account. Bunny Lebowski: I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars.
Brandt: Ah hahahahaha! Wonderful woman. We're all, we're all very fond of her. Very free-spirited.
