Dakota Fanning is now 17 years old. She is not known as a controversial figure. Her usual perception is as a nice, sweet girl with a lot of talent in acting.

She has generated some controversy in the past. She played a young girl who had been raped in Hounddog. She was 12 years old at the time, and even though the scene was non-explicit, and the rape was implied rather than shown, Dakota's parents were criticized for allowing the scene to be filmed.

But now that Dakota is 17, she is the model for a new fragrance called Oh, Lola! In a print ad for the fragrance, Dakota is holding a bottle of the perfume, with the bottom of the perfume bottle resting between her thighs.

That print ad has now been banned in England.

In enacting the ban, the ASA said the photo "was sexually provocative" and "drew attention to [Fanning's] sexuality."

Of particular concern to the ASA was Fanning's youthful appearance, according to the group's ruling.

"We understood the model was 17 years old, but we considered she looked under the age of 16," the ASA's decision reads. "Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child. We therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible and was likely to cause serious offense."

Dakota was fully dressed in the ad, and was not engaged in any activity that was sexual in nature. But the English Advertising Standards Authority has found the photo to be too "sexually provocative".

How many complaints did the ad provoke, after running in magazines since June? Four.

Racy Dakota Fanning Fragrance Ad Banned in England

The Wrap

Racy Dakota Fanning Fragrance Ad Banned in England

Marc Jacobs' latest fragrance has failed the smell test -- or rather, the taste test -- in England.

E! Online reports that British watchdog agency the Advertising Standards Authority has banned a print ad for Jacobs' Oh, Lola! fragrance that features 17-year-old actress Dakota Fanning with a bottle of the fragrance jutting out of her crotch.

Apparently, the ASA deemed the image too "sexually provocative" to sully Britain's eyes.

The ad had been running in publications since June, but after receiving a deluge of complaints -- OK, four -- the agency decided to ban the ad from further appearances.

In enacting the ban, the ASA tut-tutted that the photo "was sexually provocative" and "drew attention to [Fanning's] sexuality."

The ban didn't come without a fight; the publications that ran the ad protested the move, and Coty Inc., the company that manufactures Oh, Lola!, argued that the image is "provoking, but not indecent" and pointed out that the image doesn't depict "private body parts or sexual activity."

The ASA, as well as spokespersons for Fanning and Marc Jacobs, did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.

I'm in complete agreement with the UK banning that ad and it would be even better if they could fine the people responsible for it. Porn gets blaimed for the problems in
the over-sexualisation of Teenage youth in the US. How about blaiming Marc Jacob and all the agencies shooting this type of advertising.

Studios hire girls of legal age to shoot porn and they get flack when they make them look younger than they are but here is a company hiring an underage girl to shoot what is basically a sexually filled photo. Can anyone tell me who they were targeting with that ad? Here's a 17yrs old girl looking like 110% jailbait holding a huge phallic looking object between her legs near her crotch. I'm not even sure porn studios would have used this type of photo for a porn movie. Long live the Brown Coats.

Are porn stars contagious? How about ex-porn stars? Would you want a porn star to visit an elementary school that has real kids?

Ex-porn star reading to LA students causes stir
AP – 26 minutes ago

COMPTON, Calif. (AP) — Some parents have filed complaints with the Parent-Teacher Association after a former adult film star said she read to children in a classroom at a Los Angeles County elementary school.

Sasha Grey, a 23-year-old ex-porn actress who has appeared in mainstream shows like HBO's "Entourage," was a guest earlier this month at Compton's Emerson Elementary School for Read Across America Day.

Grey tweeted Nov. 2 that she spent the day reading to students in the first and third grades.

KTLA-TV (http://bit.ly/uZ5zY8 ) quoted parents questioning whether it was appropriate to have Grey at the school. Parent Dudley Wheaton wondered why the school couldn't find a fireman or a police officer to read to students.

Grey has not appeared in porn films in over two years. She has been a regular on "Entourage" and appeared in the 2009 film "The Girlfriend Experience."

These types of things always amuse me, I doubt the kids ever would have known (or cared) she used to be a porn star until the parents caused this news item.

There was a similar story Dan Savage mentioned about a sex club in maine no one knew about getting shut down - so now everyone knows about it. Bunny Lebowski: I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars.
Brandt: Ah hahahahaha! Wonderful woman. We're all, we're all very fond of her. Very free-spirited.

Since this was a grammar school appearance, I doubt the kids at this reading session, who were under the age of 12 years old, have had much knowledge of Sasha's porn career. None of the kids have probably ever seen any of her porn videos, for example.

Perhaps in some people's minds it makes a woman unfit to associate with decent people or children if that woman has had a career in porn. But so far, at least, it hasn't been made into any federal laws.

First Look: Pixar forges new princess with 'Brave'

AP

By DERRIK J. LANG - AP Entertainment Writer | AP – 18 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The newest princess from The Walt Disney Co. is more interested in shooting arrows and hunting bears than attending balls and finding Prince Charming. Merida, the spunky curly-haired Scottish heroine from the upcoming Pixar Animation Studios adventure "Brave," is breaking new ground as the archery-loving protagonist of the Oscar-winning studio's first fairytale.

"She's your anti-princess," said "Brave" co-director Mark Andrews. "She isn't your typical princess. She doesn't wear nice clothes except in a couple of scenes when her strict mom, Queen Elinor, makes her do it for special functions. She's an active and action-oriented person. She wants to get out in the outdoors of the Highlands, escaping from castle life and exploring the woods."

"Brave," scheduled for release June 22, 2012, is set in medieval Scotland and features the voices of "Boardwalk Empire" actress Kelly Macdonald as Princess Merida, Emma Thompson as Queen Elinor, Billy Connolly as her one-legged father, King Fergus, as well as Craig Ferguson, Kevin McKidd and Robbie Coltrane as the kingdom's noblemen.

Despite being the first Pixar film to focus on a female heroine, Andrews said "Brave" will be less about girl power and more about the oppositional relationship between mother Elinor and daughter Merida, likening the defiant red-haired princess to a scrutinized teenager who is forced to attend the same high school where her mother serves as the principal.

In the film's full-length trailer, out Tuesday, Merida's father tells of the 12-foot-tall beast with razor-sharp claws, a face scarred with a dead eye and "hide littered with the weapons of fallen warriors," that chomped off his leg while the rebellious Merida transverses a lush forest, ascends a mountain and lands a bull's eye at a tournament.

The role of Merida in "Brave" marks the first animated film part for Macdonald, a Scottish actress who has appeared in such movies as "Gosford Park" and "Finding Neverland." She acknowledged being struck by the significance of playing Disney royalty during a visit to Disneyland earlier this year as she watched Disney princesses gallivanting during the afternoon parade.

"I just thought, 'My goodness! There's eventually going to be a Merida doing her thing up there,'" said Macdonald. "The people that they cast to be the characters and wear the costumes at Disneyland have to do the accent, so somebody at Disneyland is going to be doing me. Some American girl will have to do my accent. It kind of blows my mind, really."

Other imagery teased in the new trailer includes Merida encountering mystical blue-hued wisps and the gnarly bear that took her father's leg. Andrews said despite the 3-D film's darker tone and visual style compared with past Pixar movies like "Toy Story" and "Cars," ''Brave" won't be "missing any of the comedy or entertainment you usually associate with Pixar."

Is this off topic? It's a story/news article about 2 actors. One is Ronny Reagan, who went on to become President of the United States:

..........
..........

Ronald Reagan Was Terrible At Sex, Says Actress Piper Laurie In Memoir

1 day ago by Jamie Peck

Liberals, rejoice! In addition to having his economic policies more or less discredited by history, it would appear Ronald Reagan has now had other, more, shall we say, intimate policies of his discredited as well. In her new memoir, Learning To Live Out Loud, actress Piper Laurie talks about how our former Presidents selfish attitude extended far beyond impoverished humans, to the underprivileged clitorises of his female partners.

According to the book, a then 18-year-old Laurie first met the famous 39-year-old actor on the set of the 1950 drama Louisa (pictured), in which he played her father (ew). He asked the virginal young girls mother for permission to take her out on a date, then subjected her to what sounds like pretty much the worst sex ever.

Via The Daily Mail:

In Learning to Live Out Loud she writes that to begin with Reagan was the perfect gentleman and asked her mother for permission to take her out on a date.

But instead of doing so he took her to his home where he made hamburgers for them both.

Things went downhill from there and when they moved into the bedroom where Reagan turned into a show-off who had sex without grace.

Laurie, 79, writes: He made sure I was aware of the length of time he had been ardent. It was 40 minutes.

Laurie adds that when she complained she was not satisfied, she got rather short shrift indeed.

Reagan told her: Theres something wrong with you. You should have had many orgasms by now after all this time. Youve got to see a doctor.

Poor Piper Laurie! It would appear someone (or multiple someones) had lied gravely to Ronnie about how lady parts are operated, and gosh darnit if a mere lady was going to tell him any different. And that, my friends, is why you should never:

1.) Fake an orgasm.
2.) Fuck a Republican.
3.) Lose your virginity to Ronald Reagan.

God dammit, now I feel bad for Nancy, too. JUST SAY NO to sex that is awful, girls.

I'd say the morale of the story is:

Rule 1: 18 yrs old girls should never ever go to a 39 yrs old man's home for any reason. The odds are 100% that all he wants to do is screw you.

Rule 2: If you are going to disregard rule number 1 then don't be suprised when all he does his screw you. His intent was always to get his rocks off and add you name to the twits he has banged and not to make your first time memorable. If you wanted a romantic first time than you should have picked someone nearer to your age for that.

Rule 3: Don't wait 60 plus years to reveal your past indescretion with a man more tha twice your age who was seeing another woman at the time. Long live the Brown Coats.

I just saw a trailer for "Mirror Mirror", the upcoming movie about Snow White with Julia Roberts as the evil queen. The trailer fails to impress me. I don't like the humor, the photography, or anything else.

I'm passing on the movie when it comes out. And probably passing on the DVD as well.

Fisher fires back at Shatner: 'Star Wars' is better than 'Trek'

Which is better: "Star Wars" or "Star Trek"?

By Ree Hines

“Star Trek” vet William Shatner threw down the sci-fi gauntlet when he named “Trek” the superior franchise when compared to “Star Wars.” For over a month his claim went unchallenged, but now Carrie "Princess Leia" Fisher is declaring war.

“They’re not in the same league,” the actress behind Princess Leia stated in a video uploaded to her YouTube channel. “I mean, they have the word ‘star’ in the title, and there’s space travel, right? Where did they go to? Klingon? It just sounds like a laundry detergent.”

Ahem, that’s Qo’noS, but point taken. From there, Fisher got personal.

“My space buns — they’re so much better than (Leonard) Nimoy’s ears.”

Then things turned political.

“I hear that (former vice president Dick) Cheney likes ‘Star Trek,’” she said with a grin.

Before signing off, Fisher offered a tip aimed at Shatner.

“So, here’s the thing. If you see Bill Shatner, call him Han Solo,” she said.

Of course, Shatner’s already on to her jab. On his Google+ page, he’s asked supporters whether or not they think he should respond to her video.

So let me get this straight, they allow ex-cons to get a job at schools. And ex-addicts too. They allow sex-offenders to to live 2 miles from a school because 1 mile is too close?

But because a lady or man that chose a career choice to be filmed having sex, lets keep that vermin away from our kids?

Ok this steams me, our great president Clinton had his pole raised in the oval office and made it public by lying, and we allow him to go to schools, and even other nations and represent us? And pay him millions to speak.

But a ex-porn star who was open and honest about her life,
never harmed anyone, and gave of her time and lets chastise her.

I guess it's easier for "decent" people to cry shame against porn stars than against the other people you mentioned. Or at least more newsworthy.

Though there are plenty of people who are always willing to point out the faults of others anyway.

Let's find people to savage. It helps to pass the time of day. Human nature, I guess.

Here's a very important thing to consider when making a movie. For which market are you doing this movie? Is it for children, teenagers or adults?

Some movies manage to appeal to teenagers and adults but it's usually going to be more popular with one of the two age groups. It's also possible to appeal to children and adults but that requires a very specific type of movie. I think animation is the more succesful medium because Children love the images and colors while the jokes are often geared toward adult. The one type of movie that rarely if ever works is one that is geared to children and teenagers.

Based on the trailer then I can say that they screwed this one up. The jokes are appear more geared toward teenagers but the style and images appear geared toward children. I can't see too many teenagers wanting to see this movie and by default children will also probably not want to see it. It's clear that they didn't so this movie for adults and again that's a problem because you need them to take the kids to see it.

The casting is a mess. Why hire American actors and then ask them to use British accents? This isn't always a problem but it can be if their American accents slip back in and sadly many American actors suffer from that. How about an original idea and simply let them use their normal accents. Where is it written that the characters have to be British? The most famous Snow White movie was made by Disney and she wasn't British. I kind of feel bad for Lily Collins because this will be the third movie she has done that dies at the box office. She was in Priest it made only 78 millions worldwide with a budget of 60 millions before we add promotional cost so a major loss for the studio. She was also in this summer's Abduction and that made also 78 millions at the box office with a 35 millions budget but only 27 millions in North America. The studio may not have lost any money but I wouldn't be surpsirsed if they did. Long live the Brown Coats.

One thing that surprises me about Mirror Mirror is the director is Tarsem Singh. He directed The Cell (2000), The Fall (2006), and the just released Immortals (2011). All three films had brilliant visuals. (Actually, I saw the first two films, and the use of color and imagery in them was beyond great. I haven't seen Immortals, but I have seen some trailers from it, and that film seems to be visually overwhelming as well. Tarsem Singh and Zack Snyder are two directors that focus on superlative images and use of colors.

But Mirror Mirror, from the trailer I saw, does not seem to have the impressive imagery or colors I expect from Tarsem Singh.

Lily Collins is a beautiful/attractive young women. But she does not appear to be super-gorgeous in the trailer that I saw. And Julia Roberts, a super-star, is only presented as attractive, not super-attractive or gorgeous, even though she is supposed to be one of the most beautiful women in the world, in the movie.

The color/imagery/whatever that is a Tarsem Singh trademark does not appear in this film, from what I can tell from the trailer I saw.

I saw a trailer for another upcoming Snow White movie with Kristen Stewart. And some of the other-wordly/fantasy images I saw in that trailer were what I would have expected from Tarsem Singh.

^The Movie was almost completely shot in a Montreal studio so the bulk of the scenes are done on a sound stage which means that Singh was right at home. Especially when you consider The Cell and his recent Immortals. I think his style may still be in this movie but we'll have to see a much better trailer than this last mess.

The choice of Singh was probably a huge mistake if they wanted to make a comedy with amazing visual shots meant for children. He's got the credential for the visual aspect but all of his movis have always been intense and really not meant for young children.

I completely agree with you that Lily is a very beautiful and they somehow managed to make her look pretty bad in this movie. Long live the Brown Coats.

Dakota Fanning is not a small girl anymore. She is a grown woman, who gets married in her new movie role. And unless you look closely, you wouldn't even know it was Dakota Fanning. Her hair is brown, and she looks like some Englishy maiden. She also gets to wear a corset.

Dakota Fanning grows up, gets married in new role

By JILL LAWLESS

AP – 6 hours ago

LONDON (AP) — Dakota Fanning is stepping forward into adulthood, and back in time.

The 17-year-old former child star takes on a firmly grown-up role as the title character in "Effie," a movie that recreates an infamous Victorian love triangle involving 19th-century art critic John Ruskin, his disenchanted young bride Effie Gray and artist John Everett Millais.

"I think actually in films I've done more adult things in other ones than I have in this one," Fanning said during a break in filming at a country mansion near London. "But this is my first time being a wife and all of that, which is actually kind of exciting and very fun.

"I get married in the movie. I had a wedding dress. It was kind of surreal," said Fanning, who has been acting for a decade since she grabbed attention, aged 7, as the daughter of Sean Penn's character in "I Am Sam."

Fanning, who recently began studies at New York University, is no stranger to edgy material. She played a troubled 12-year-old in 2007's "Hounddog," which contained a controversial rape scene, and was the cruel vampire Jane in the "Twilight" films.

Last week Britain's advertising watchdog pulled a Marc Jacobs ad featuring Fanning, saying it seemed to sexualize a child — the regulator said the actress looked younger than 16. The ad for "Oh, Lola" perfume showed the star in a short dress sitting with an oversized perfume bottle between her legs.

Her outfits for "Effie" are considerably more demure. Written by Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson and starring Thompson's real-life spouse Greg Wise as Ruskin, the movie is allowing Fanning to fulfill a long-held dream of appearing in period garb.

"Wearing a corset every day has been ... interesting," she said with a laugh. "It really does make you feel like you are someone else in a different time. It takes a while to get dressed in the morning and to take everything off, and you kind of get a glimpse into what it was like not being able to take your own clothes off.

"You have to have someone helping you and putting you into these clothes. It just shows how different everything was."

^This is the kind of casting news that makes me think that people in the entertainment industry have an unhealthy fascination with teenagers. Why would you hire a 17 year old girl to play the part of a 20 plus year old woman? I think Dakota is an amazing actress but I think that adult roles should always be left to adults. Maybe I'm alone on this one but I find it a little creepy especially when you consider that this is suppose to be about a love triangle.

The strangest part is that there is a second Effie Gray movie in the works but at least they have gone with Keira Knightley. Long live the Brown Coats.

I don't think it makes good commercial sense for two movies on the same subject to be coming out together. At least one of the movies is probably to lose money. And the subject matter of a historical triangle doesn't seem to have a wide audience. It seems more like a vanity project where the actresses (Dakota Fanning and Keira Knightly) will enjoy showing their acting skills, but how many people will want to watch either movie seems very limited.

Snow White has a broader appeal, but again, two Snow White movies coming out at the same time is a poor marketing decision. You've got big name stars in both of the Snow White movies, and probably special effects up the gazoo. These are tent-pole movies.

Every once in a while, Hollywood just seems to release two movies on the same subject. Wyatt Earp had a movie with Kurt Russell and a different Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner. I think the Kurt Russell movie made money, partially because it was released first. The Kevin Costner Wyatt Earp movie bombed.

^I actually don't even understand why they are making one let alone two movies about Effie Gray. Unless the story that I read is very different from the the reality then I can't see the appeal. You have a young girl who's family was friends with John Ruskin. He married Effie Gray when she was 19 or 20. They never consummated the mariage and therefore she was still a virgin when she asked that the mariage be anulled so that she could marry the painter Jonh Everett Millais.

The core of the movie happens when Effe is in he late 20's and beyong and again I can't understand the choice of a 17yrs old girl to play that part. Long live the Brown Coats.

I saw the trailer for "Snow White and the Huntsman" and Charlize Theron looks great as the queen but everyone seems to think Kristen Stewart will be a poor Snow White. I have not seen any film Kristen has been in so can't judge her. Warning Will Robinson

^I also saw that trailer and the movie looks interesting.
I won't compare it to the other Snow White movie because the other would loose the fight. I think Charlize looks really good as the Evil Queen. The jury is still out on Kristen Stewart. I think she is a very talented actress but will we ever see her in a role where she actually looks happy? I've only seen her in the Twilight movies Zathura and Adventureland but except for cracking a smile from time to time. You never seem to see her laugh her head off. She always looks like she has at least 5 lemons stuck up her ass. Long live the Brown Coats.

I regularly visit the below site because their reviews and analysis of movies is both hilarious and inteligent. They have reviewed many movies but the one that you have to see is the latest one about Adam Sandler's Jack and Jill.

http://redlettermedia.com/

I'm not sure if anyone had seen the budget for Jack and Jill but I certainly didn't. If I had then I would have wondered why the movie cost 79 millions dollars. Well you will have a good reason after you watch the review. Long live the Brown Coats.

I saw Hugo this weekend and I really enjoyed it. It has some beautiful shots and the acting is top notch. I'd be willing to say that Asa Buttefield deserves a nomination for his role of Hugo.

It's tagged as a family film but I don't think it's meant for very young children. I don't want to give anything away but I would say that children under 10 should avoid the movie. There are some things in there that aren't meant for young children. For a man like me that loves cinema and even more so old time movies then this was a perfect movie. Long live the Brown Coats.

Couldn't have put it better myself. The only thing I would add is that if you are a movie buff, then this is a love of film movie - Scorsese's Opus To Film - not to be missed. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee.

The trailer looks good and the character was written by Edgar Rice Burroughs so you know there is a man of talent behind the story. The question is whether there were people of talent to bring this to the screen. This is a movie that I'm curius to see. Long live the Brown Coats.

I think your one phrase description is all that anyone needs to know about this movie.

I saw it in 3D and I enjoyed it but mostly because the lighting was superb and you didn't have to squint during the darker scenes to see what's happening on the screen. That is often the main complaint about 3D in most other movies so at least Scorcese made sure to avoid that trap. I just don't think 3D was necessary in the telling of this story and I don't think it really added all that much to the overall quality of the movie. Long live the Brown Coats.

Movies hardly ever follow the books 100%, but I hope they follow the spirit of the story. Keeping fingers crossed. Warning Will Robinson

3D - An observation. I did enjoy the snowflakes wafting into my face - that was cool.

Lighting - While probably only I noticed this, but SB Cohen's ear was back-lit in such an interesting way. I think I notice cause it was such a tight head shot and his ear twitched. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee.

The snwoflakes were really great. They were right there in the theater with us. They were pure CGI like that shot where the camera starts outside the train station and slowly moves inside and moves between the rows of people getting on the train. Long live the Brown Coats.

Has anyone been to see "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?" It doesn't appear to be doing that well at the Box Office. My daughter and son-in-law loved it .. did you?

^There are some movies that I prefer watching in the privacy of my own home. This movie definetely falls under that category. I can't see myself sitting in a theater with a bunch of people watching such a dark movie where you have murder, incest, rape and sodomization of the main character, blackmail to name but a few.

In fact I think a large part of why this movie is doing so poorly is the choice of release date. The studio should have been smarter and released this at another time then Christmas. People prefer family movies and lighthearted comedies around the holidays. Another problem is probably that this is a remake of a foreign movie that was made 2 years ago and there was even a tv mini series done in 2010.
Which person who's seen the original version and enjoyed it will want to pay money to see an American version of the exact same film? Long live the Brown Coats.

I saw Tintin a couple of days ago and although I enjoyed it. I can't help but think that Steven Spielberg has lost some of his touch when it comes to movie magic. This is the man that used to make great movies but he hasn't done anything really worth watching since at least 2004. We got The Terminal with Tome Hanks which is basically the story of a man without a country stuck at JFK for a long period. Then he did War of the World with Tom Cruise and all that I can remember is that none of the characters were all that likable and the basic premise that Martians had buried ships thousands of years prior to the invasion was so retarded that I started to worry about the rest after that. He did Munich but that was in many ways like Schindler's List so I don't think we can compare it to other Speilberg movies. Then he brought us the gem that became the raping of icon Indiana Jones with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I'm not going to say anything. I just recommend you watch this guys review of the movie: http://redlettermedia.com.

Now we get to Tintin. It's a visually interesting looking movie but the 3D is a complete waste of time and a pure cash grab by him and all the studios involved in the making of this movie. I actually burst out laughing during the opening credits because you didn't get one studio or two or even three but four studios were involved in the making of the movie. Paramount, Columbia, Amblin and Wingnut Films were all involved with the making of Tintin. Then they of course picked one of the few Tintin comics that actually doesn't end but has a sequel opening the door to the obvious movie sequel. I'm also scratching my head why they used real actors to make the movie? The great thing with animation is that you aren't limited by anything except the animators imagination. Long live the Brown Coats.

I agree with you in that I would rather watch it in the privacy of my house as well. There seemed to be a certain excitement about the Daniel Craig version earlier on in this thread and I was simply wondering how folks responded to this version. For me it would be a blessing to be able to look at the actors' faces, rather than at the subtitles.

Haven't been inside a movie theater for several months now. A combination of getting sick and lack of really appealing movies. The movies I might see I am waiting until they come out on DVD. Much cheaper to wait for a $1 plus change DVD than to pay movie theater prices.

And if the movie is disappointment, which happens, it's easier to take the disappointment knowing I only paid $1 plus change to see the movie.

I also haven't been in a movie theater in a while and the main reason is that there simply hasn't been anything that was worth the expense.

Here's a list of moves coming this year and whether I'll see them or avoid like the plague.

March:

John carter
. Yes
The Hunter Games. Yes
Wrath of the Titans. Yes
Goons.(probably)
A Thousand Words.Eddie Murphy movie so not a chance.
21 Jump Street. Will be a clusterfuck that has nothing to do with the original material.
Casa De Mi padre. A movie where Will Ferrel speaks bad Spanish and that's suppose to be funny. Might have worked in an SNL sketch that lasted five minutes. Avoid
Mirror Mirror One of the two Snow White remakes and based on the trailer will be a total mess. good for dvd
Dark Tide Stars Halle Berry has a shark expert who's business is failing because of a death and needing money so accepts to take a millionaire on a dangerous shak dive. I can smell this turd all the way here.

April:

Titanic in 3D Who hasn't seen this movie at least once and must see it again in Fucking 3D?
American Reunion Was there really a need to revisit thes eguys 13 years after American Pie?
Cabin in the Woods It's Sci/Fi and it was writte by Joss Whedon so there a good chance I'll see this one.
The Three Stooges Whoever greenligthed this one should have his name added to the list of idiot who are not allowed to make any decision about movies.
The Lucky One This movie stars Zac Effron as a wait for it...Marine sergeant returning to the US after three tours of duty in Iraq and who credits staying alive to the photo of an unknown young woman who he somehow is able to track down and gets a job in her families kennel. When will Hollywood learn that you can't make Zac Effron into a believable male role model.
Lockout This is at the top of my must see movies.
The Moth Diaries A vampire movie that may be better on dvd than in theater so i'll be patient and wait for it.
The Pirates band From the guys that brough you the claymation Wallace and Grommit. Will definetely see it.
The Raven John Cusak has Edgar Allen poe. I'm not sure about this one. I like John Cusak and the movie seems interesting.
Safe Stars Jason Stratham in action filled movie but I'll have to see more before i make up my mind. He sometimes appears in stuff that does nothing for me.
I'll add more later on. Long live the Brown Coats.

I read John Carter when I was a teenager, because I was reading anything Burroughs wrote. But Tarzan was my hero. Also Tarzan had movies that I could watch.

I thought Clash of the Titans (the remake) was OK. But I enjoyed the original more. Judi Bowker, the heroine of the original, was absolutely lovely.

So I might see John Carter or the follow up to Clash of the Titans. Or I might see Safe House, because I usually enjoy any action movie with Denzel Washington.

I wish Kevin Smith had taken this question more seriously before he made the dreadful Clerks II. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I've never read John Carter so I'll be a virgin going into the movie and that may be a great advantage if the people behind the movie didn't manage to hit all the important points from the books.

The original Clash was far superior because the story was better, the reason why the hero did what he did made more sense and the movie used effects to improve the story. The remake suffers from what plagues so many movies made these days like. No actual story, crappy dialogue, awful character development(if any), truly amazing CGI effects that look fake because they are often over the top and look unreal to the eye. Then there's the sad reality that they are no more amazing than the ones you saw in every other movie made in the last 5 years.

I agree that Judi Bowker was lovely. It's too bad that I didn't see her in anything else after that movie. I know she has done more stuff but i certainly haven't seen it. Long live the Brown Coats.

Hey, that brings back memories. I devoured all of Edgar Rice Burroughs' books when I was young. Talking about Tarzan movies, did you ever see the earliest ones? Jane was nude more often than not .. until Hollywood brought in the code!

I've think I've seen almost all the Tazan movies ever made (except for the cartoon Taran movies and Disney's cartoon Tarzan). But most of those I saw so long ago, and with a failing memory), I only know I saw them. I hardly remember anything at all.

It used to be I would see a movie, and still retain the basic plot. But now I see and movie, and if I see it one or two years later on TV, I oftentimes don't remember that I saw it before, or at the end of the movie, I think to myself, "Did I see this beofre, or not?"

I know I read all the Tarzan books, and the John Carter books, when I was a teenager. Also, I think there was a series set on Venus. And Burroughs also wrote some stand-alone novels that I read, like the Monster Men, that I really enjoyed. But I think there were a few novels I might have missed. I don't remember reading any of his westerns, and I think he wrote at least one or two of those.

When I was a teenager, I read almost anything in fiction: science fiction, westerns, mysteries, adventure, etc. Reading was one of my great joys.

And my memory was so much better then than it is now. If I picked up most books I read 40 or 50 years ago, it would be like reading a new book: the plot and characters would be new, not familiar.

I don't have Alzheimers, but it seems like the next worst thing.

did you see Elmo Lincoln?

I too watched em all. A couple years ago I reconnected with a couple of classmates from 50 years ago who vividly remember my Tarzan yell in the playground at recess. They both agreed, I had Weismuller's yell down, and I didn't have a violin backup. unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.

Yes, there was a series set on Venus. But suffering from your type of memory I forget now what it was called! In my case, I remember some of the movies I saw as a youth but my biggest problem is with books, movies etc. that I saw only a couple of months ago. Usually I am half-way through watching a show when something rings a bell: "Gee, didn't I see this only recently?" But in a way that's great! You can read your favorite books, watch your favorite shows over and over again as long as you give them a month or so in-between!

Yes, I saw Elmo Lincoln. But my favorite Tarzan was Johnny Weismuller.

But I never had your courage, and any Tarzan yells I ever did were non-verbal and silent.

I need to copy some of your enthusiasm, and it will make my outlook brighter and more cheerful! Some problems aren't really problems, they are a blessing in disguise!

When one is 10 years old, I don't believe it's called courage.

I also went to school with my Superman suit worn beneath my Catholic school uniform.

It was years later that I focused in on erotica depicting nuns. But then, that's another story. unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.

Speaking of young earthmen traveling to far-away places to do heroic things, Tarl Cabot of the Gor series by John Norman, deserves mention. unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.

I even read most of the early Tarl Cabot of Gor series. But that was much later. And even though the writing was not explicit porn, I found the series erotic. A real male fantasy. Sort of like an updated, eroticized version of ERB's John Carter series.
