I'm back after a long break from porn sites, I need some advice! Hey guys, I've refrained from joining any sites since around feb 2009, yep a long time ago. When that geo targeted pricing became the "in thing" then around the same time I was annoyed because a site had photos marked as exclusive which are not (teendreams I think) anyway I decided "ya no what fuzz you too" so my hard earned cash stayed in the bank. Now I'm ready to update my picture collection. So, in the past I always joined with ccbill and always selected the 30 day "recurring" option, BUT I always canceled just before the rebill date, this always worked and I was never charged for a second month, thus saving a few extra notes, (the rebill option is always a little less than the no rebill option) does this trick still work?

I don't know that I'd call it a trick. If a site offers a cheaper rate for recurring memberships, and the billing company is reputable enough that you don't fear further charges you don't authorize, that's definitely the way to go. I think I've seen some sites that require you cancel so many days before the end of your subscription, so you might do well to check the fine print to see if there's any such stipulation. And welcome back to the world of porn! Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Welcome back, ByteMaster! I'm sure the sites who get your business will be even happier. I think the vast majority of us use recurring billing options because they are cheaper even if we run the risk of running up multiple months if we forget (been there, done that), but remember: you only pay for the site monthly so they can't bill you for six months or a year at a time unless you accidentally checked the wrong box. So the lesson is sign up for one month at the recurring rate and then once you get your membership/login info and you see that it works go ahead and cancel--you should still have access until the end of the 30 days. Canceling "just before the rebill date," as you put it, can be a little risky since quite a few sites want some advance notice you're leaving them (kinda like girls, they hate surprise goodbyes), sometimes as much as 72 hours in advance, so don't get lazy! I don't see it as a "trick" on our part but more of a trick on the part of sites. These dudes know we want the cheaper rates, they're just hoping we're too 'occupied' or have gone blind from watching too many of their videos to remember to cancel on time. Porn's always been about screwin', just not always the kind between consenting adults but the kind between a crafty company and a customer overwhelmed with love/lust/hairy palms. : ( Stay vigilant and have fun. Some sites still practice the regional billing discrimination. But some PU members (from Europe, mainly) have found that they can sometimes get around the higher prices sometimes charged by CCBill. If you read the threads on regional billing, you might come across some hints or suggestions on getting a lower price than the higher euro price. One idea is to use a different billing company and see if you can get the lower price in dollars, instead of the higher euro price. I read a post suggesting this a few days ago, but don't remember the exact details. Maybe some PU member with a better memory can post the details here, or on a separate thread.

Teendreams buys lots of material from general content producers. Sometimes they bought exclusive rights to a set, sometimes not. But due to the downturn in porn economics, content producers turned around and opened up everything they had to everyone, not honoring the exclusive agreement they had with certain sites. In other words, Teendreams is not trying to piss you off.

It works fairly often, and I agree with your wording that it is a trick. It tricks those unaware than they can cancel their "recurring" billing within a 30-day period and not be rebilled. They would pay more for the same thing. About cancelling, what I do is bookmark the site as soon as I join it and I put the signup date in the bookmark. That way, I'm always reminded in a convenient fashion when I signed up, so I very rarely miss a cancellation. But as others have said, do it before you get too close to the wire. I always do it at least 5 days before the 30 days is up. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Be careful I've seen some sites be tricky and put a one month 'notice' period to cancel so in effect you join and cancel straight away and you'll still be billed for two months (read the fine print)

Thanks for the heads up. Did that happen with ccbill. I only join sites that use ccbill or epoch, can you be more specific about the sites or payment processor?
