quantity

At what point does quantity change from being too little to being an asset? When is there an endpoint to saying a site needs growth?

For me a site should take more than a day to download.

>10 GB is pretty small, infant stage
10-30 GB is a site that is moving but still needs a good bit of growth
30-50 is a site that is starting to make a name for itself and is big enough to say it will be around for a while
50-100 is an established site that should be looking at how to keep updating on a long term basis. Start watching for non-exclusive content
100-200 here we got a good sized site. This would be a well known site that should be looking to iron out any issues. Customer service and such.
200-500 this would be a network site typically. Here we should be looking for growth in more niches. Each site might be fairly small, but they get you with many sites adding together
500-1000 these are the big boys like brazzers. With many sites that are of good size. Just keep it coming, but keep it from getting stale. We need new content and are looking for better media quality.
1000+ No one can touch these. Now we are in the realm of Videobox. Where I have personally download about 3 TB from. These are the kind of sites that even if half the content is piss poor, there is so much left that there will always be something you are interested in.

That is my personally guide to site size, of course it depends on each site and user.

Keep in mind though that a normal teen site should be pretty good sized since the content is easy to make, relatively. Other tight niche sites will be much smaller and need to be viewed on a small scale, say divide the above numbers by 10. It is pretty common to find a tight niche site of something that is extremely hard to find that is less than 3 GB. but you have to be happy with what you get at times. That is an interesting question you ask, and I won't add anything to badandy400's numbers. He has given us a very good representation of a sites age, in internet years. I don't compare newbies to sited that have been in business for a couple of years. Nor do I compare one that has leased material compared to all exclusive. That wouldn't be fair, since the leased is a mixture of different peoples work where as exclusive is all their own.

I don't think that a site that wants to stay in business can ever say, we have enough content. What I sometimes find is that a site will remove older material in favor of the newer stuff. That bothers me, since some of the older stuff may have been of greater quality.

Let me add this question. When is quality more important than quantity. Today there is more porn being produced in a month, then there was in a year, not so long ago.
We have a market of quick in and out porn which adds terabytes worth of material, but is more than a few Gigs of it worth buying and saving? Long live the Brown Coats.

That one is a difficult one to answer. Once you start getting into massive quantities you know that what you're getting is pretty much nonexclusive material and/or the quality starts to drop off. If the stuff is "new to you" then that's great. Otherwise it doens't really do much. For example, I recently rejoined Twisty's which has a ton of content but once you've joined a few times there are only the updates and even those aren't necessarily exclusive.

For me, if the site is holding itself to be nonexclusive then the more the better. Otherwise, original content sites satisfy me with a 3-7 updates a week so long as they're not recycling their content. Network sites with original content probably take the top prize using this analysis but for me I don't particularly find the networks to be among my favorites. So, I guess I have to say that I'm more of quality person. If it's high quality I'll settle for less but we always want as much good stuff as we can get.

I feel that quality is ALWAYS more important than quantity. If I save only a little from a website and love it, I feel my membership is successful. Some large sites, like videobox, did little for me. Sure some was worth saving, but I don't feel it was worth the effort to find. Recently I reviewed Africangoddeses for example. While much of it was of low quality and I did not save it, what I did save I really like.

I put weight on both aspects when rating a site. The media needs to be of good quality, they content of the scene needs to be good quality, and there needs to be quantity to attract me in the first place. I am not going to spend $30 on a site with 10 videos no matter how good they look, and I would have trouble doing it even if it was long videos of "exactly what I am looking for" whatever it may be that day.
