I can't expose details just yet, but we're looking at launching 8 brand new sites within our myporn.com domain, including a fresh new PornUsers rebuilt from the ground up. Since most of our resources are focused on developing and launching the new network, there won't be too much to tinker with on the existing sites (TBP and PU).

The changes wil be dramatic, and take our community to the next level. Most of my staff are building new content in the form of new original reviews (much diff than TBP) and billing/privacy audits. I'm working on the concepts and designs, preparing the templates to push out to my programmer. in about 3-5 months, everything will be pushed out all at once. There might be a few sites debuted early, but it doesn't all come together until we launch everything.

Sorry I'm so vague right now, but it's too early to let everything out of the bag. Hate to ask for patience, but just know we're working quicker and more diligently than ever before. Losing the raffle will be a distant memory soon enough. What we have to look forward to is far greater.

I'll have a lot more details to reveal in a month or two as we get closer. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

That is quite the niche messmer! hahah

The freshness is mainly referring to modern function and design. I get depressed for a second when I stare at our stone-aged sites.

You guys are right though... this place would be a ghost town with Khan's presence. He'll always be top dog here! The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

First, want to say thanks for our loyal and active users. I can't believe after two years we have the same great minds and opinions still active in our little corner of the web.

Who am I, where have I been hiding? I go by just "Rick" around these parts... I developed both TBP and PU starting back in 2003. Some of you remember me when I peaked my head once in a while. I took the past two years completely off to breathe and enjoy the world around me. Frankly, I needed a break after staring at a computer screen everyday for 15 years.

I'm back, and have a newfound drive. First thing I had to do was clean up some things within the company. With free porn and our stale sites, no surprise that income has been slowly on the decline. We've had to really cut down on unnecessary expenses... unfortunately the raffle was one of them. Glad to see most are fairly supportive and understanding. Thank you for that.

The company as a whole (TBP and PU) is still very stable, but sitting back and doing virtually nothing to expand/upgrade has cost us. I'm putting a lot of time and resources in brand new sites that will bring freshness and cutting edge resources for everyone. I've never been this motivated or worked this efficiently... software and html standards really make things easier now.

As you can tell by my usage stats, I'm not much of a forum guy... but I do read a lot of posts and even poll results still. I'm a research freak and a developer at heart. When I'm in my zone, I live breath and sleep concepts and designs.

What to look forward to?

1. Fresh new reviews for sites 80+, new brand separate from TBP.
2. Deeper discounts, deeper trial research and verification... new site that compares prices available from us and others for each pay site.
3. Trust reports for all 80+ sites... logging, capturing, and grading the signup process, cancel process, upsell tactics, spam tracking, and of course fraud.
4. Our own tube... full 10 min hd movies, no ads/pop-ups, our own encoding, in a package that crosslinks to all the reviews, discounts, and trust ratings.
5. MUCH MUCH MORE

This forum and PU will get it's own set of updates down the road as well. I have a lot of ideas to get our top users free passes and benefits that should exceed raffle type rewards. My goal is to widen our community and in the end, take care of those who have stayed loyal to us.

I'm late for a graduation party, so I better run... but thanks to everyone who has always had our back. Khan is always your man, and you won't see me muhc, but know I'm back and dedicated to fuck shit up (for the better of course)!!

p.s. these fonts are way too damn small!!! lol sorry bout that. i'll fix this. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Feature Added!

If you go to TBP's advanced search, you'll now see an option in the "Dates" section called "Last Site Update".

The following options are available:
<1 Day
<3 Days
<7 Days
<30 Days
>90 Days
>1 Yr
>2 Yrs
>3 Yrs
>5 Yrs

This allows you to search for both sites that have updated their content (since last checked) or sites that have not updated in a long time.

If we haven't logged this information for the site (say we haven't had a members pass to check), then that site won't be included in the results. We don't use tours to determine dates since some sites may advertise something diff from the actual updates.

This is a minor but pretty cool addition to our advanced search. Thanks asmith for the suggestion! The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Hi asmith,

Very specific request, but something I believe could benefit a lot of users here.

Let me see if Kevin can add this for you. Toughest part is wording that so most people understand what it means. I didn't even know completely until u gave examples.

If it's easy, we'll get that done for u within a couple days.

Follow-up... just checked with my programmer and clones were already being filtered from the new sites section on the homepage. We've made some changes so that all new site sections of TBP no longer display clones.

I also see why your annoyed with all the mobile sites dominating the recent new sites. I can justify filtering out mobile sites from the list as well, but I would need more feedback from our community to see if it would be beneficial to the majority.

Come on guys, the "New Sites" page is starting to resemble spam.

It's a pain in the ass now just to filter through all the dross, and it should really be cleaned up a little.

Clone sites should not be included in the list, and mobile sites should possibly have a seperate page... if you're interested.

I only really want to see full-blown, fully-fledged new sites please.

Am I the only person to be annoyed by this recent trend ?

It's bad enough that certain types of site even exist, but to thave them take up space on the front page of TBP site, is really annoying!

Thanks for bringing this up OneMan. Sometimes we don't know we have an issue until it's pointed out to us. There's not much I can do about mobile sites right now, but I can weed out clones. So I'll at least have clones not included in the new sites section hopefully effective later today.

Hi Ed,

We do make exceptions for sites that run under a sub-domain. The site must have it's own brand and identity and usually sites under a sub-domain don't. But if it's a a case where your using say a network domain and have quality sites under a sub-domain of that domain, it could still qualify. It all depends on the site.

Khan can have our admin RoseAnn consider the site if it hasn't been yet.

I was looking in that section to see if there are any well-reviewed sites of the "GFRevenge" sort - where amateurs - models that don't have pages devoted to their appearances on many different sites in various forums - submit photos and get money if they are published.

But I couldn't even find a single review of that sort because the "Amateur" category is filled with the Nubiles, In Focus Girls, NaughtyAmerica, etc sites that are NOT amateur sites. You can call them that but it's like calling the sky "the floor".

Firefox 2?

We tested the layout in the latest version of FF and IE6, IE7, and IE8. So it should conform properly to most common browsers. It's really tough to cover them all unfortunately.

Curious to know what's holding you back from upgrading to the latest Firefox. I find it much faster and more stable than older versions. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

BTW, here's a copy of the initial image rules. These can and will change as we learn how to best moderate it's use.

This is a new feature as of March 31, 2010. Images can be included in posts now using the Image+ icon above the message field. You will be prompted for the url of the image you wish to embed in your post. Please be responsible with hotlinking images and read the rules below.

Not intended for image trading purposes. Our forum is available as a useful resource for porn site consumers. It simply wouldn't function the same if threads were overtaken by endless image trading, most of which is illegal anyway. This doesn't mean you can't post images of hot babes, but it should be for reference purposes (see below).

What kind of images are not permitted? For 2257 (legal) purposes, we do not allow hardcore images of any kind. No penetration, oral sex, erect penis, torture, etc. If it can be seen on HBO, then it's probably ok. Posting illegal material such as child porn, scat, beastiality, will result in immediate suspension. Posting copyrighted photos is strongly discouraged and 100% at your own risk.

Examples of adult images for reference purposes:
-Posting about a new model discovery.
-Inquiring about the name of a specific model.
-What other sites a specific model can be found.
-Locating sites with similar content.
-Admiring the beauty of a specific photo/model.

Where can I upload images I want to post? Since we don't allow uploading images to our forum, you have to either hotlink the image already located on another server (be sure you have permission) or upload the image somewhere. There are many free image hosts online (try a google search). Make sure they allow hotlinking to forum threads.

Can I post non-adult images? Of course! Part of the reason we wanted to allow images was to add character and humor. There are sites like Funny Forum Pics that allow the hotlinking of their images within threads.

Is there a image posting limit? This will change from time to time. Right now, please don't post more than 2 images per post. We will adjust the limits as we go. Overall, we want to allow the free exchange of information, opinions, and entertainment while maintaining the original soul and spirit of our forum.

It's a good day for the PU forum!!

I won't even go into the new features. Let's just say we've caught up to most other boards finally. Discover them yourself by adding a reply. Report bugs in this thread also. Other than that, let's celebrate!

Be sure to read our updated forum rules about posting images. Like most forums, images can only be hotlinked right now, not uploaded to the forum.

Totally agree. One of the most important aspects of a site and continues to be the most challenging to judge. You'd think we'd have it down, but we have to be careful to make a clear judgment. Sometimes when we make an educated guess one way or another and get it wrong, we catch major flack from the site owners.

I wish web-sites would be more honest and clear about their content. Tons of sites mix exclusive and non-exclusive with no labels which I never understood.

You guys usually do well to identify things like exclusive content or recycled updates and this helps tremendously. We will sometimes use that info in the review if the user is credible and info looks confident. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

In response to the great WG...

Thanks for your smart input as always. Here's a reply to some of your suggestions:

1. Do an actual join and cancel... In the future plans and is definitely needed. Want to plan this one carefully and do this right.

2. Subjective input... They are given all the freedom to give their subjective opinions. It's up to them on what to comment on, but it's not always as easy as it sounds.

3. Scoring... The total score is based on the overall greatness of a site, so it's taking everything into consideration. You mention scoring based on things like search, video features, etc. These should all be factored already and should be outlined in the facts or details of the review.

I think maybe an additional "more info" section for misc site features that may not factor as a pro or con might be a good idea. Spencer and I were talking about this earlier. He's going to make an appearance in this thread shortly as well and give his take on some things brought up. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

The other question might be... is there any such thing as too many cons? Even though a specific con may not matter to every reader, as long as it's useful and applies to a certain audience shouldn't it be included?

I can see webmasters being defensive to such a con, but it's surprising to me that some users would want us to hold back in that regard.

With that said, I've instructed the reviewers to be more forgiving with image sites that are intended only as image sites. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Oh right, this was brought up in the Hegre thread.

This is an interesting one that I think is up for debate. The question is, is there a situation where a certain type of site should be called out for not having pictures or videos.

Let's take a solo girl site for example. To me it would be a pretty big negative if that type of site didn't provide videos or images.

Other type of sites might be different. DVD sites might contain only DVD ripped scenes and that would make sense. A site like Met Art, it would be acceptable if they focused only on images.

To me, it comes down to the type of site and whether users would expect to see certain content. This debate also applies somewhat to sites that don't have hardcore (especially when the tour doesn't clearly state either way). I'd love to get more input from you guys on this subject. Thanks for the input so far everyone. I read them all and made a list of pts made so far...

-Not enough focus more on customer service, signup/cancel trickery, other deception, etc.
-Bias toward older sites even though they are outdated and fewer updates.
-Not enough niche site reviews.
-Not enough credit given to sites within networks.
-Not enough emphasis on scene setup/originality.
-Too much credit given for site technicalities.
-Too much credit given for content quantity.
-Too many sites in the 90's.
-Need more dialogue between reviewers and PUers.
-Consider an objective review template (yes/no q's).

I may have missed a few minor details, but so far those were the ones that stuck out to me.

Some notes in response...

-We've tried to put more focus on the content this time around (2.0), but it's not enough and might not ever be satisfying for some. I want them to strive to learn about what users generally find appealing and what they don't about a scene, and consider them in the review. I know we can do better here.

-The reviewers job is to represent the general audience. What would an average user signing up to this type of site want? This is where user reviews/comment really help them. They can't get too subjective with their own personal tastes, although they are invited to do so to an extent. The fact is that most of the sites they review aren't necessarily sites they would personally signup for. This is the toughest part of their job.

-I'd also like to improve on communication between users and the reviewers. It might be more valuable to ease the large # of reviews they do per week and get them more involved in the community. There's benefit to keep them somewhat separated, but I do believe they can learn a lot by being more involved.

-I agree that our reviews focus more on technical aspects over anything else. This is partly based on the time limitations for each review. The reviewers will spend between 30 min and 2 hrs experiencing the site and it's content. I'd say an average of 1 hr, then another hour (or two) writing the review. They spend more time on a higher quality site versus an average site in the 70's. With so many things to judge within this time period, it's really challenging.

-We will be addressing billing, customer service, misleading advertising, cancel process, etc. I can't get too much into it yet because it's in the early stages, but we have a new concept to address the trust, service, and overall friendliness for each site. It will take time and will be combined with a huge slew of other improvements and releases.

It's great to get inside the minds of our audience, I love it. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

A recent Hegre comment got me intrigued about what other input you guys might have about our reviews at TBP. I think most of you find the info/facts to be fairly good and worth it's weight. Pushing that to the side for now, I'd love to hear your candid opinions about the "scores" and "pros/cons". Do they focus too much on vids? Do they overrate or underrate certain types of sites? When do the reviewers get it right and when do they not?

Don't hold back either... if we can dish it, we better be able to take it! Give me general opinions, detailed analysis, constructive or non-constructive. We're all ears, so let's hear your mouth!

p.s. A little ass smooching doesn't hurt before I open the gates. The reviews at PU have helped us tremendously become better at our own job. Your reviews/comments are almost always a secondary reference when reviewing a site. Our reviews based on a simulated members-area experience will never touch actual user impressions and experiences. Thanks to this community for all your contribution. It means more to us that you may realize. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

The feedback has provided the extra level of insight I was looking for. I think I've got a pretty solid basis moving forward. I don't have a firm ETA yet for these changes, but it will be a gradual release when it does launch much like the 2.0 reviews.

I won't have the new set of facts final for another 10-14 days probably, so don't be shy to suggest anything else I may not have considered.

Thanks for your input! The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

I second what Drooler and I previously said in that the photo size (e.g. 1000x800) would be best.

Maybe we'll try to illustrate both, but I've seen a lot of the big photo studios use MP to brag about the size of their images.

For example:
http://www.met-art.com/met-art_covers/JA...-7118.htm?PA=1813362
(advertises 10MP)

However, in another mag cover they use pixels:
http://www.met-art.com/c106/06196-Zoe-by...f-140.htm?PA=1813362 (3000 pixels)
I assume 3,000 pixels represents the minimum height or width of each photo.

Doesn't look like there's any clear standard.

I'm leaning toward listing image dimensions and MP. MP is good because we can easily fit 4 characters (XXMP) in tight spots and/or make it easy to search sites with images above X MP for example. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

In 80-90 % of the sites I try to join via TBP and CCBill at the higher euro-price, I find that, it's possible to locate those sites at Epoch - even if it's not possible direct via TBP/the site in question.

You can go SHOP at Epoch and find MOST sites simply by SHOP/ADULT search AND get the same price as US-citizens.

SO: What about a link for these good offers at TBP to Epoch? - even if you cannot join directly via the site...

Geo-Pricing will definitely be a larger focus soon. We'll soon be gathering screen caps of join pages as seen from both US and Europe. So as a european user, you'll be able to preview the join page (cost, etc) of most sites prior to even visiting the site.

The Epoch loophole is obviously a way around it. For sites that have this, we'd rather try to deal with the site owner and offer the same price or rid the geo-pricing from our links somehow. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Number of downloads allowed at one time.

How many pros, how many amateurs, or new? Are the amateurs on a teen or amateur site genuine or just the same old pros trying to look innocent? How many genuine new girls?

Now that's a tough list! :)

Real vs recycled updates... VERY tough for our site fact checkers and reviewers. Once in a while we will catch this, but we have to rely more on the users to point this out when found.

Customer service... We will add a cancel link and support link to our site facts. Judging the quality of customer service will come later on. This is part of a long term plan, but not in the upcoming changes.

Search/nav... We'll be adding simple info about whether a site has a search and what general variables are searchable. I'll leave the judgment of how easy/dynamic the UI is to the reviewers.

Tattoos/Fake Breasts... Getting down to figuring out a % will be tough. Hopefully the site's tour/previews provide this info. We'll be adding previews again to our site down the road also.

Simultaneous Downloads... I believe this is the same as number of streams available to a Download Manager. We do have this info in the reviews currently (not the site facts), and will be moving this to the site facts.

Pros vs Amateurs... Might be able to have my guys give their best guess. I'll consider adding something, good suggestion.

Thanks Squirrel for the challenge, appreciate your feedback. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Yes to both. I'll probably move this from the review to the site facts. Reviewers will still test DL managers when testing speed.

I'm working on a new section strictly for streaming video info that I think you'll find useful.

a) Ditch the whole "Y/N" commentary on high res pics. No one knows what you really mean by an ambiguous term and it really doesn't differentiate some site like Hegre-Art that has monstrous pic sizes from some amateur site that barely meets your definition. Instead, I would list the max pic size (or at least the most consistent max pic sizes) that appears on the site. That means a lot more than what you have now.

Yep, agreed. The Y/N items will be gone from both video/image sections. With regards to image size, we're going to be specifying image size based on total mega-pixels (width x height). So a image 2000x2000 would be 4MP. We'll based it on consistent max sizes, like u mentioned.

Originally Posted by Wittyguy:

For me, the total number of pics doesn't really say anything without a reference to the number of sets, I'm more interested in the number of sets and average number of pics per set. If a site has 50,000 pics but only 15 pics per set I'm not going to be terribly happy (this is an exaggerated example but you can catch my drift).

I also hate the "total" #'s. We'll stick to # of sets and pics per.

I'm thinking a separate "model" section that lists the total number of models and a little about the model index and listings. Like whether u can search by model, view thumbs, view bio, etc. Something beyond just yes or no.

Originally Posted by Wittyguy:

Also, I think you could ignore most of the material found in your "Other" section here: things like wallpapers, worthless 3rd party feeds, e-cards, forum, store, etc. don't really matter as I can't think of anyone who would sign up for a site based on this stuff. If there is something you find that is really cool or unique then note it here, otherwise we don't really care so keep it or toss it, your choice.

This was on my list as well, we got an e-mail with this suggestion. We won't be able to provide too many details about a site search, but we can at least say whether there is one and the general options available.

We'll have a simple checklist also of "other" useful content like blog, forum, etc. 3rd party feeds are tough because some are ok and others are worthless. I have to think about whether to include that.

Hey guys,

We're in the process of updating our Site Facts at TBP and wanted to get your feedback. If you would take a minute and comment on the following:

1. What facts would you like to see added?

2. What facts could you do without?

3. What current facts could be improved?

I already have a lot of good ideas, but figured it was worth getting some user feedback also.

Thanks for your input. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Brazzers Network, on the other hand, has lots of extremely similar sites but all are eligible for separate reviews. Needless to say, I'd rather PU offered the chance to review and comment on individual Killer Gram sites.

If PU has chosen this policy and someone posts meaningful reviews of individual sites I don't see what's the problem. On a couple occasions I've received replies on individual site reviews of mine where people said they would join the network because that site alone seemed interesting. There's no way I could have gotten into so much detail about a site if I had only the option to review the network as a whole.

Wanted to let you guys know our official policy when listing individual network sites.

Here's the following requirements:

1. Must have a unique domain name.
2. Must have a unique tour.
3. Separate billing page.

This is "basically" how we define a unique web-site. Otherwise we'd have too many garbage sites to list and review. It would take up too many resources and it wouldn't be of much value to you guys.

In general this policy seems to work well. There are always exceptions where a network or AVS has a really good site users might want to review or get information on. On the other hand, an AVS with over 1,000 virtual sites would never be worth listing. We could do it on a case by case basis, but then too many judgment factors come into play and makes it far too subjective. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up and let you know that we're trying to get an answer from the webmaster as to why Denner's access was blocked. It's very strange that a webmaster would act that way (even under these circumstances) and I'm not sure I would jump to the full conclusion that it's related to the complaints. It wouldn't surprise me if it was, but it also wouldn't surprise me if it was something technical (download limit or something).

Either way, we have contacted the webmaster and asked him for an explanation. We've invited him to respond directly as well, which would be to everyone's benefit.

That's an update from our end. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

You should seriously consider Vegas as well! I've been here 7 years and couldn't think of any other place in the world I'd rather live. Sure it's hot during the summer, but that's not always a bad thing. Winters are cold but comfortable. Homes are as low as 200k for nice fairly new 2000 sq ft. There's no state income tax, good hiking, night life, gambling, close prox to CA. The nice areas of Vegas are all new and safe.

I might be able to offer you some work also at some point, but I would want to meet with you and see if there's an opportunity. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

If you guys are wondering why your feedback has been pending for the last couple days, it's because our man Khan has been stuck without power (and heat) in his home in Virginia. The storms took a beating in his area and his home is very secluded from civilization. I believe there was 4-5 ft of snow with more to come this week. It could take a few more days before they have power again.

This affects the raffle tickets as well. Tickets are not awarded to reviews/comments until they are approved. Khan normally handles them all, but if he's not back by tomorrow morning I'll go through the feedback and approve as much as I can before the raffle. For any feedback that isn't approved, it will apply for the following raffle.

I hope you're staying warm big guy. Get back soon! The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

Yeah, we're not always great at detecting the recycled content either. It takes someone who has spent many weeks studying the content to know when this occurs.

If you guys ever do find this, point it out with reports through TBP and of course through PU comments.

Hi asmith,

You bring up some good ideas on this. We have started to internally flag sites that are idle, but it's not always easy since many sites recycle content. But for the sites that simply stop updating, this is something we will start highlighting better on our sites.

At the very least like you said, a simple "Content Last Updated" date would be easy for us to add under the "Content Updates" section of the site facts.

Thanks for the suggestion asmith.

If you guys do find sites that are no longer updating, please submit a Site Facts "Error Report" from TBP and we'll add a notice for others somewhere in the site facts. The Best Porn - Ultimate Consumer Guide to Porn

My philosophy is that by not nominating sites, we actually increase the economic benefit to ourselves. Seeing that one of the main criteria for getting a "hot site" is a big permanent discount, it strikes me that we should not nominate our favorite sites in hopes that they will offer a discount or discount even further in an effort to get a "hot site" listing.
