Yeah, most of the sites I join feature exclusive content - with exception of the DVD content sites of course. Still, if I recognize the model from one of the other sites I already have, I often do a retrospective run of that older content out of curiosity, so duplicates would probably show up quickly. Only probably though, lol "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Just to put an amusing spotlight on my obsessive organizing system, as I've said in previous posts I organize first by content producer and then by model name. I've recently found a free Photoshop plug-in that lets me save icon files - so I now make a custom icon for each of the content producer folders, lol Now I don't have to look for Porn Pros, I can just load the folder with their easily recognizable seal! Oh, that is a rough one - my organization system works solely because I've been following it from day one, so all the necessary data is collected at download time.

The problem is that any organization system instituted now will require either research or previewing of every scene, and at 1 terabyte, that is going to be several days of straight work.

I believe IKnoPorn has made a software organizational system for his porn, perhaps he'll be able to help you. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Hey, glad to see ya on the forum! :-) You can check out the Rules & FAQ page, but pretty much since you've made one post, you've got the basics. It is just like the replies to the polls, just you get more space and you'll find people's behavior more conversational here. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

You know, the company I work for used to deal with a company that produced custom refrigerator door skins that you'd apply over top of your normal fridge. Of course that would set you back more like $50 at the time and you had to provide them with the graphics. Sadly, I think they closed up their custom individual orders division and have gone back to industrial applications. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

I have two main reasons and people will be surprised by this, but I honestly don't have a long explanation.

The first reason is simply that I do not have the time to acquire free porn - it is often tedious work and can be dangerous to the health of your computer in the form of frustrating viruses. There are a few forum sites that make it relatively easy, but if you don't pay for the "premium" service provided by whatever download server they are using, you end up only being able to download a few things a night. So that alone is reason to pay, now that I'm working and have money, I don't have time so to pursue porn in my spare time, I need efficient methods that don't irk me.

The second reason is because it gives me voting power - I'm able to influence the face of porn with my dollars. I keep good sites alive and let bad sites die. Sure my voting powers aren't massive, but you can bet my dollars spent on porn have more power than any vote I've cast in any county, state or federal election. I'm picky and I want porn I like to prevail. It is the same reason that I never turn down a product survey - surveys are usually quite small (1500 people at most usually) that gives an individual vote massive sway comparatively to any normal election. So yes! I may be the reason you see washing machines showing up in your stores with paint jobs depicting Unicorns battling Ninjas. I mean come on, isn't that better than beige?! I can't imagine there is anybody at this point with their feathers still ruffled. One universal thing it seems about people who love porn is that they tend to mellow out pretty quick, I mean - after all, isn't that what porn is? The merging of good entertainment and good rest & relaxation? Anyway, I think all of us consider you a valued contributer - feathers need a bit of ruffling now and again, otherwise they get all dusty and whatnot. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

lol - Tom Servo rocks. Btw, it looks like there are a few bugs in your new links.

On the Tom Servo link, you added the URL after the "URL Here" text that is supposed to be replaced, so the Porn Users server got all confused (I fixed it in the above quote). In the "Your Avatar" link , it looks like you replaced the "Here" but not the "URL ", so again the server is confused, and again with "2008 PU Forum Awards" the address starts with "url" so I'm guessing not all of the "URL Here" was deleted again.

The trick is that after the "link=" everything should be the address until that "]". So for the "Your Avatar" link, you should put this inside the brackets:

link=https://www.pornusers.com/forum/forum_thr...&showPost=82#_82

and then the text you want people to click:

"Your Avatar"

and then the closing tag:

[/ link] (remove that space between the "/" and the "link")

Then you should be good! Rinse and repeat for the other link :-) "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Ah, the way the tags work is such:

First you have an opening tag, after this tag all following text will be modified by whatever behavior this tag describes, be it bold, italic, large font, or even link text. So, that is where start, with the opening tag:

[ link = URL ]

The "URL" is replaced with wherever you want to send the browser, be it "http://www.google.com/"; or whatever. Of course, I'm adding extra spaces in there so the website won't make the BB Code active.

Next thing you want to do is to add the text you want other users to click on to follow the link. You could use the traditional:

Since you don't want the entire rest of the document to be a link, you need to tell the computer where the link ends, that is, you need a closing tag. In the case of linking, that would be this:

[ / link ]

All together our Google link example would look like this:

And the code behind it looks like this:

[ link = http://www.google.com/ ] Click Here [ / link ]

The sweet thing about the Easy Tags is that all you need to do is select the text you want to modify and then click the Easy Tag and the website types in the BB code for you. In the case of the Link Text you still need to add the URL, but it saves remembering all the BB Code tags. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

I just used the easy tags buttons at the top of the profile editing section (and any other full reply boxes, quick replies at the bottom don't have the buttons).

For example, a link to this post might look like this (without the extra spaces):

[ link = https://www.pornusers.com/forum/forum_thr...ad.html?threadid=102 ] [ b ] Your Avatar [ / b ] [ / link ]

Remove all those extra spaces and you'll have working code - Porn Users uses a neutered variant of standard BB code. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Categories are certainly quite common in most forums, but do our threads really fall into easy to distinguish categories? You could perhaps do really generic categories like: Hardcore, Softcore, Pornstars, and perhaps a catch-all like Et Cetera. I almost feel that without the free for all system, people wouldn't feel as inclined to post some of the stranger threads like the recent PU 2008 User Awards or the X-mas poem. Hard to say though. What categories did you have in mind? "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

That is probably why the 500GB porn drive isn't entirely full yet. That said I'll still keep browsing for it - porn isn't like food, you can't just keep a stocked inventory and be satiated. It is more like books, sure you'll happily re-read a bunch of it, but you always crave something new - even if it is constrained by the genre type it abides by. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

AND BTW: To quote you "sadly it is one I enjoy a bit more than my real job"
Somtimes I have that feeling myself - and sometimes I think about how it would be possible to make a living from porn-sites, things like a scandinavian TBP or alike....

Ah - got it :-) Yeah, that thread Wittyguy pointed out mainly covers it, but simply put - they make money by getting a percentage of the membership prices of the websites that people join after browsing TBP or Porn Users. You'll notice that links from this site and TBP have an reference ID in the link - something like this: ?nats=bestporn

Being an associate can get you often upwards of 50% of the money from a membership purchase through your link. I've actually thought of becoming an associate of my favorite sites just to get a discount on long term memberships, lol

As for a Scandinavian TBP - you should do it! Not everybody understands English well enough to find TBP and Porn Users a valuable resource, and as TBP has proved, it could become a viable source of income for you :-) "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Not for our blue eyes. Of course TBP has to make money - it's not free to run a site like that and TBP is probably not a humanitarian deal -:)
But compared to most - no all - the others similar sites Porninspector, Rabbits and so on, I've never seen such fast and regular respons to inputs from webmasters as here at PU.
By all means, PU themselves (ourselves) has been bulding this up for quite some time.
But give it to especially Khan - and Rick too - these guys are also making this place worth while, but just this one - I think rather innocent question:
Appart from the fact that I think all of this also is fun for you:
What is your foremost income here?
Maybe the question is indiscreet - or as Lee Van Cleef said in the Sergio Leone-movie "For a few Dollars More":
"The question is not indescreet, but the answer might be"

Ah, Sergio Leone knew how to make a good movie. But aside from that, um - what was the question precisely? I've gotten confused by the tangential commentary up to and surrounding the final question. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Without a doubt, Porn Users. I don't exactly check porn at work - but Porn Users, well that is a different matter. I check the site at least once an hour whenever I have access to my computers - usually if I'm absent for more than a couple days it is because I'm on vacation and thus physically separated from my computers. The recent Thanksgiving Day vacation is evidence of that phenomena. I probably should go through the threads active during that time... "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Gonzo porn was not always shot in the first person or in point-of-view fashion as some have suggested here and the quality of the movie depended largely on who was producing it.
Half the adult videos you can rent fall into the Gonzo genre.

This is based on an entry by pornoholic (http://www.urbandictionary.com/author.php?author=pornoholic)

That is a pretty good definition of Gonzo Pornography, but I would even go farther as to say it usually isn't shot in P.O.V. - as that is in-and-of-itself its own niche. Sadly, most major studios only produce Gonzo porn. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

For me, Gonzo porn is more defined by something that's just strange and over the top. According to the Urbandictionary's definition, the majority of porn appears to be Gonzo, which I think waters down the original definition of "Gonzo" (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gonzo) to the point of it being meaningless. Frankly, I'm not really into that type of thing as I do like a little appeitizer before the main course.

This post is about as good a definition as you can get for Gonzo - I actually intended to reply to mr smut's review that asked about Gonzo - but I think all the work has now been done :-) "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

LOL! Wow! That is epic! First off, many thanks for the awards, I am deeply honored. Poster Child - who'd've thought? Though I must admit it is a little disturbing to realize my posts account for near on 10% of the forum... perhaps I have a bit too much free time, lol.

Still, mad props for the awards ceremony - the dancing girls were a nice touch - I don't think we'll see that show recreated anytime soon. I do hope that donkey recovers soon - and I honestly didn't know EMTs regularly stocked stretchers for animals that large.

I must say though, you either have an impressive memory, or have spent an impressive amount of time reviewing the past year's posts - I don't recall even a third of the stuff I, myself have posted - not even that Airship post, lol

So, without further ado, I grant you the title of "Supreme Archival Monkey or: How a Howler Monkey Learned to Read and Catalog the Porn Users Forum" Btw, speaking of silly references, nice Waits reference, I always liked his comment of "I'm so horny the crack of Dawn better be careful around me!"

I gladly accept the prize - though I'm afraid its effect won't be to mitigating the "posting promiscuity" - for you see I type in Dvorak, which means my current Microsoft Natural keyboard lists the home row as "asdf jkl;", but in reality it is "aoeu htns" - it makes folks aweful confused when they try "hunt and peck" style typing on computer. I dare say a Cyrillic keyboard would just boggle them more, lol

Oh! and the Porn Literacy shirts, excellent plan! Though I wonder what Patrick McGoohan would think if one of those shirts walked by.

P.S. I was inspired by your x-mas hat to x-mas-a-cize my avatar, as well, please excuse the copy-cat behavior :-D "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Windows 2000 was the bomb, so rock-solid stable - especially considering it lived in the era of Windows 98. A seriously underrated operating system, though as you said, it wasn't a gamer at heart.

DOS had a lot of pluses too - I still use the DOS emulator (aka. Command) to do searches these days as it is easier than training that stupid Microsoft puppy. I'll have to check out IKnoPorn's suggestion of Agent Ransack though, that sounds like it might be easier. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Mine is a crop of a Zippy the Pinhead lithograph, sporting a particularly excited look. I thought his perversity rather fit the forum, and it's vaguely disturbing to boot.

Ah that is Zippy! I couldn't quite place the face - very good choice indeed.

Thanks! Glad ya like my avatar! I'm really quite surprised how many people on this site have recognized it and even know about The Prisoner. I guess it is good evidence as to what a classy group we all are :-D I wonder if loving porn statistically places a group in a higher socioeconomic category? Wait until Washington finds out! If you aren't seriously into gaming and drooling over the possibility of using DirectX 10.1 - I'd stick with XP. You'll get a lot more performance out of your machine. Hell, even with gaming, DirectX 10.1 is slower than 9, plus it offers only minimally better graphics right now. As the game developers switch over, those differences will increase. I oft request the thread be kept as a sticky thread at the top of the forum, and Kahn usually does apply that setting but he has informed me that they don't want to keep permanent sticky posts in the forum. Though, of course, your suggestion of integrating it in the Rules / FAQ section would bypass that issue.

If I were writing a review on an individual basis or for a set socio-economic class, I would certainly place emphasis on price. Unfortunately, the more you delve into the price issue, the more you realize how diverse people's opinions are on how much to spend on porn. Some people balk at spending $20 a month and others figure they need to find another site if they aren't breaking $200. I personally spend around the $100 arena, though it is probably more than I can justify. The issue is price polarizes people so much. Some users have quite literally stated that there is no reason on earth a site should cost more than $30 a month. Granted those people probably wouldn't review a $50 a month site, but if they did - well the gods might not have a fury as great as theirs. By ignoring the price you ignore having to debate the price on every review. It is a cheap solution and ignores the problem, but in an essence, most rules are just that anyway.

Sadly the last few episodes didn't have it because of plot requirements. There is as much anger and determination in that, as any protest song or film.

Thanks! Though I must admit I've recently been contemplating making an avatar of Jeremy Brett as Holmes just because I've recently started watching that show. (and of course, detecting good porn, et cetra, et cetra, it sort of works) I'm a bit lazy about such things though, and as Number 2's cry is so fitting, I'll probably just leave it, lol

I meant to ask - you said The Prisoner was one of your 3 all-time favorite shows, what are the other two? "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Indeed, like the time they trained him to become left handed and believe he was a spy disguised as Number 6. I love all the ridiculous gadgets - I've been trying to get one of those damn phones for years - nobody sells them anymore!

That is one point I keep making over and over: It's your review, write it about your opinions. People keep putting cons on a site not because they dislike it but because other people might dislike the content. I don't mind trying to thoroughly explain the content but you shouldn't knock a site because other people might dislike it - that is their job when they review it. Imagine if we had to take into every possible opinion of other users? "Con: Users with acute Gymnophobi, Gynophobia, Genophobia, Coitophobia or Erotophobia will undoubtedly hate this website and its content."

The objective is to clearly explain your opinion of the content and your relevant tastes so people can decide easily if your taste matches their taste. I also stress the importance of site facts, because most of the time, The Best Porn's site facts are out dated and not as thorough as I might like. A good bit of time was spent by a number of us on the particulars of good reviews in an old thread: What should a PU review include? "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

PS - At risk of being a smart arse, "The Prisoner" was considered partly a metaphor for Patrick McGoohan trying to escape from the "Dangerman" series. His character is addressed by name only once in "The Prisoner," and that is by Leo McKern's Number 2 in the 16th out of 17 episodes. He calls him "Drake" (or at least that is what it seems), which was the name of the character McGoohan played in "Dangerman."

Haha, indeed it is unusual for Americans, let alone ones my age to know of the show. I must admit I was introduced to the show by my father, who was a huge fan when it was first aired in the states. I'm quite a movie buff and a bit obsessed with some of the older television shows now as well. For a little bit, when planning the avatar, I was trying to decide between Patrick McGoohan or Patrick Macnee and his distinctive bowler. Then I decided that the catch phrase of The Prisoner was particularly fitting for a porn forum as porn is always coming up against freedom of speech issues and such.

I've read about McGoohan's conflicts with the producers about the Danger Man series and about the exit strategy origins of The Prisoner. I find it somewhat amusing that he was feeling trapped in the Danger Man series when it only went from '64 to '67 - shows the different expectations people had for lengths of series then, what with actors staying with some shows for beyond a decade these days. As for the Drake or not question, I always sided with those saying it was Drake - as it would explain so much of Number 6's abilities. Even if he wasn't Drake, he must have been in a similar line of work. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!"

Good catch! Indeed it is :-) It is a hand drawn rendering I did of a film still of McGoohan driving the Lotus 7 in the title sequence of The Prisoner. I simply removed the steering wheel as it didn't seem relevant to the site - perhaps if I were using it on a forum dedicated to Top Gear I would put it back in. You may have also noticed the little quote from The Prisoner featured in my signature. A wonderful show that - even better than the beloved Danger Man series I'd say.

I would choose your category of too minor to matter. The whole debate about if trust ratings should be allowed to be anonymous at all has raged on since the inception of this site. The administrators have made it clear that for now that feature will remain, and since the toggle for default is provided in the user accounts, I understand their decision to err on the side of anonymous. If the user cares, they can toggle it to their preferred setting. I personally haven't a huge interest in trust ratings at all - I usually use them only to provide a little feedback and constructive criticism and I really don't use them all that often. I'm always boggled as to why the anonymous trust ratings issue keeps raging on. Despite being a very polite and peaceable board, this is one issue that regularly starts fires here. In the category of Softcore...

MET Art - its been a while, but I still hold them as my measuring stick for softcore pornography.

In the category of DVD Downloads...

American Vice - that search engine is bloody fantastic. If this had been asked a few months ago this would have said Videobox, but their catalog, despite being larger, is less diverse and their search engine is no where near as powerful.

In the category of Hardcore...

Brazzer's Network - they always manage to stay entertaining, offer wonderful value for money and have a mind-bendingly large amount of exclusive content.

Others of note, the ATX Network in the form of Argentina Triple X and its sister sites - very nice exclusive content, though the update schedule is a bit slow and the archive is still smallish. And an oldie but goody is the Brain Pass - it might be a bit out dated these days, but it has a lot of great exclusive content in the form of its small individual model sites like Sweet Amylee and Christine Young.
