Hey - I'll admit I don't know 1/3 of what I'd like to when it comes to computers. What I do know is that I haven't changed my browsing habits and I'm still on a constant search for the same "out there" stuff I always have. And I used to get a ton of spam every day. If what you say is true, it seems to me that it's a most remarkable coincidence that, ever since I've started religiously denying cookies, and making sure I checking existing cookies regularly, I now get maybe 3 or 4 pieces of junk in my inbox daily instead of the 10 or 20 or rmore I used to get. I don't know how much of an issue it is to others, but I'm inclined to stay away from sites that need cookies enabled just to view their tour. Yes, I could remove it after the fact - I just don't see a need for the cookie. Somehow, over time, I've managed to get the spam in my inbox down to a minimum and I do what I can to keep it that way. Thanks, Khan Yeah - guess I kinda begged for it ::chuckles:: But it did strike me as something people easily overlooked. Writing a good review isn't something that just falls out into print. I'm a former English major, so writing's always come easy for me - but I still have to put a lot of time into making sure everything's in order before it hits the pages here. I've decided that I'm going to look through the latest ratings at least once a week and see who all might've been overlooked in getting the thumbs up for their efforts. I think it depends on what's being said by the guy and what the situation is. The first thing to came to mind when I read the original post here was the interviews on All Over 30. The guy isn't degrading and the atmosphere seems to be pretty relaxed. But I will say that they seem to be the exception rather than the rule - for most sites I wish they'd just shut the hell up. Calling it against the grain set it up perfectly for me. So, here I go again... on with my one-man crusade against sites like Brazzer's. In any business, it's not an assumption of what their consumers enjoy as long as it sells. As much we might like to keep the thought way back in our minds, porn is a business. If it sells, nothing's going to change on a massive scale. I agree with just about everything that's been listed here as being too much - but as long as it sells, it's all here to stay. I've said it before on here - that's why you'll almost always see me reviewing sites with amateurs. Few, if any, tacked on tits, no gotta-fuck-in-30-positions-in-ten-minutes sex scenes, and no makeup-applied-with-a-putty-knife women dressed in some porn industry's idealized picture of what they think we want women to look like. Me? I'd like to see a return to the 70's style of things - what's now being called Classic Porn. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that that's what I pulled my way through puberty to (yeah - pun intended), but there was just something more real about it - stupid plots and all. Gimme real tits, full bushes and a little bit of acting, even if it's bad. P.S. Stop the damn topiary crap! If you have to shave it, ladies, shave it all off. That's assuming that they're actually attempting to restrict or cut-off access for security reasons, which I seriously doubt. It's just more abrogation of freedom. Just putting this up to remind people to do what I've been pretty lax in doing myself - show your appreciation for the work people put into writing all these reviews. To the people who aren't getting the votes they think they should... You might want to check out the people with high marks and see what their reviews have that yours don't. Getting more detailed reviews up and having them appreciated can only make this site even better than it already is. I've gotten enough information from this site to have avoided joining sites that I would've wound up regretting. I've also found great sites that I might've otherwise missed. All in all? An interesting question - one I had to give some thought to. I've shown very few people what all I have here. I'm sure some of the content I've collected over the years would leave people looking at me suspiciously (for lack of a better word). To clarify that, I'll just say that, along with the dozens of site rips I have, I also have a considerable amount of fetish stuff that I've downloaded, more out of curiosity than actual interest. I keep everything I download because I'm a collector. There's definitely nothing illegal on my drives! Anyway, out of the half dozen that have seen what's here, four of them have asked me if I'd consider cloning hard drives for money. I'm pretty anal when it comes to organization and, since I'm not joining too many sites these days, have actually started using Excel to create a database so I can find what I'm looking for. I guess it's impressive enough 'cuz they've pointed out the variety and the organization and obviously thought enough of it to offer to pay me so they can have what I have. So, to answer the question of how I'd rate my collection, I'd have to say it would be somewhere in the mid nineties. To those who might be curious if I've ever accepted the money, it might surprise you that I won't do it. Aside from the ethical question of selling someone elses' copyrighted material, I guess I just feel like this is my collection - You want it? Go get it yourself. Aside from what you said about people being afraid of the Internet, I can think of 3 reasons to want a DVD. 1. Like goldfish mentioned - the picture quality of a DVD is usually better. 2. Even though discs don't last forever either, storing videos on a hard drive can be quite disturbing in the event of a drive crash 3. People may prefer to watch porn on their television using a standalone DVD player. They might not know how to rip files to DVD or just don't want to be bothered with the time consuming process. No one's mentioned system resources or operating system here. If you have a lot of services and processes running in the background, even a fast machine with plenty of RAM can be taxed when trying to run high resolution video. This is especially true with a PC running Vista that hasn't been tweaked. I'd recommend a trip to blackviper.com where you can see what all can be eliminated in the way of resource hogs. This is exactly why I'm always going against the majority in my seeming one-man crusade against networks like Brazzers and Bangbros - Tons of mass produced, run of the mill porn. My suggestion would be for people to stop getting drawn in by a cheap monthly rate, just to watch what amounts to the same scene over and over again, just with a different girl and a different guy each time. I don't know about someone choosing porn over food - but I think I'd made the comment somewhere on here that I'd have to take food over porn. I seriously doubt I'm alone on that. With the world economy as it is, I'm sure plenty of people are choosing their priorities more carefully. Around here, even the bars are getting less crowded - and that's usually one of the first things people do when times are bad - drink! I have to disagree with the people who say that LCDs - even TFTs - can outperform, or even match, a CRT. I don't have the money to upgrade yet, but I do keep looking at what all's out there and, so far, I'm not too impressed with what I see. Unless you get into the high end models (read that as mucho dinero) there seems to be a tendency for larger monitors to have banding issues or serious viewing angle issues. And I've yet to see any LCD match the color reproduction of my CRT. Right now I have a Samsung 933BW - a 19" TFT - and an ancient Dell 21" CRT. The CRT NEVER ghosts and the colors only remind me of how much of a comprimise LCD monitors are. For me anyway, CRTs just suck up too much power and way too much desk space to be practical to use anymore. There is one advantage to you can get in an LCD that you won't find on a CRT. Some can be rotated 90 degrees, making for better viewing of portrait pictures, documents and web pages. If you really want to go bigger, I'd suggest going to sites that have user reviews to see what the people who've bought 'em have to say about 'em. Not that I use it, but I would figure all download managers that aren't extensions or add-ons for other browsers would work with Internet Explorer. There are basically two benefits to using a download manager. First, they accelerate your download by breaking the file into several pieces and downloading the pieces simultaneously, That's the reason some sites don't like 'em - they can put a strain on their servers. I can vouch for that because I have a server app I upload files with. I had someone hit me by trying to download a file in 20 pieces and it damn near locked my PC up. The second reason to use one is to resume a download that gets interrupted. Personally, I like freedownloadmanger, available at www.freedownloadmanager.org. It's IE compatible (although, if you're surfing for porn, I'd recommend using just about anything but Internet ExploDer) And never apologize for being a newbie. One of the first thoughts that cross my mind when I see a deep vaginal fisting scene, especially when it's a guy with a huge hand and he goes on to fuck her later in the scene is, "How the hell can he feel that?" Another possible red flag? It's been a while since I'd tried to get onto the One Pass For All network, but I do recall not being able to get past their login page and none of the emails I sent for resolution to the problem were ever answered. This could get very subjective - like asking what the best car is. It's not so much the file type but the bitrate and the codec used to create the video. As a general rule, I'd say to download the file with the biggest size. Of course, with every rule, there are exceptions. I have to say I'm still disappointed that TBP took cost out of the ratings. It's still one of the first things I look at when considering joining a new site. And, from the amount of times cost has been brought up here, I see it still figures in with a lot of other people too. I don't get too intricate with it. Usually, if a site's more than $30, it's got to have a very unique niche covered or have enough hi-def video to keep me downloading pretty steadily for that month. That's why sites like Femjoy probably won't see me again - To me, that's too much money for a bunch of pictures, no matter how high the resolution. The only time I ever rebilled was by mistake. Even at a $10 a month discount, I see it as cheaper to rejoin at full price down the road, letting a site build the content up for six months or more. Having said all that, one might be able to see from my lack of recent reviews that money is tight here. There is a free version of TMPGenc available here: http://www.download.com/TMPGEnc/3000-214...353608.html?hhTest=1 I haven't used the free version in over a year (Bought TMPGenc Xpress 4.0) so I don't remember the exact location but, if you look at all the drop down menus, there's an "MPEG Tools" in there somewhere. Select Multiplex, add the files you want to join, give the file you're creating a name and a location, click on "Run" and you're on your way. To me, paying for something that you can get for free is kinda foolish. Between FreeDownloadManager and the DownThemAll plugin for Firefox, the only time I haven't been able to download using a manager is when the site prohibits their use. I use FDM almost exclusively though - there's a plugin that integrates FDM into Firefox and it rarely, if ever, fails me.
