Pros:
- The flagship site of my personal favorite network.
- I originally reviewed 1byday, here on PU, way back in April, 2007. Gave it the same score, but everything else has changed.
- Includes network access to 7 other active sites and 6 inactive (not updating) archive sites.
- The quality is easily some of the best on the internet and it goes beyond just the resolution numbers with DDF content.
- I've seen many different prices, but I joined it last year for a year membership price that was very good and cheap.
- Despite 1ByDay being part of a network, it alone, updates 4 times a week with a photo set and video. The network as a whole updates twice daily with a video and photo set included in each update.
- Very good download speeds.
- 1ByDay is more or less a supersite for individual models, so there's lots of solo content here.
- Epoch is the biller
- Zuzana Zeleznovova and Mia Stone, two of my favorite blondes have their best work here. And lots of it.
Cons:
- Zuzana Zeleznovova, Eve Angel, Mia Stone, Anetta Keys, just to name a few of my favorite models that have a ton of content on 1byday ... have all retired.
- Well, I complained about it on the Club Sandy review, so 1byday used to update twice daily. Though it was in theory and name only supposed to update once per day. It now only updates 4 times per week.
- Current models just aren't what they used to be. That's not to say they're all bad, but I used to download every new update, now it's more like 1-2 per week.
Bottom Line:
Years ago, DDF and 21 Sextury competed head to head for mine and many other people's money. About 5-6 years ago, I would have advised others to go with 21 Sextury, but not anymore. It's not so much a dropoff at 21 Sextury as it is, DDF's sites continually improving. I hate to go into an area that pulls in personal preferences, but DDF has stuck with their guns or maybe more applicable, they've left with the person who took them to the dance.
The reason I joined 1byday/DDF for a year was because of a major external hard drive crash. I lost over 1TB of DDF content. I don't spend as much time on the PC or downloading porn as I used to so I figured a year membership would be good for recovering all the lost content and checking out the newer models too.
1byday continues to produce content that isn't very different from the content they were producing over 10 years ago. It's mostly softcore, masturbation to orgasm, very personal videos and photo sets. This is still my overall favorite genre of porn, but it really is dying off. Which is why 1byday still receives a 94. Most of my old favorite sites/networks have become 95% hardcore. While I believe my taste in porn has changed as a whole, I still do like to see the pretty young women in clothes, then stripping, then masturbating. And overall, I think 1byday alone can fill that niche for me.
If you're unfamiliar with some of those models I named above, but like solo porn, then do yourself a favor and try this site/network out. Check out those models especially. DDF, the man, not just the network name, before retiring, brought out the best (worst? naughtiest?) in Eve Angel, Zuzana Zeleznovova (especially Zuzana) and the incomparable Mia Stone. If you love solo porn, the scenes of just those 3 are well-worth the membership price. Which is the good news, there's roughly 2,400 other models besides them.
There's very little bad news. Seems like the pricing could be a bit of a hassle since I've seen the network listed anywhere from $9.95 a month to $29.95 a month. I seriously am considering just letting the year membership I have recur for another year. It's still cheaper than any of the promos I've seen.
1byday is easily one of the biggest Euro model sites. It has over 4,000 scenes. Each "scene" includes a downloadable photo set and video. And they were doing full 1080p HD as far back as 2010, so there's thousands of videos in HD. Though, as I've said before, I prefer 720p and they also offer it. Their videos and pictures are clear, not nearly as touched-up as other similar sites and the videos are sharp.
I think once you add the network sites you have the best overall value in porn. Much like 1byday has stayed true to its roots, the other sites included have also stayed the same as they've always been. You also don't see as many dead sites here as most networks and maybe more importantly, the sites that are inactive on DDF include a couple that were solo models who retired, so there's no fair way to complain about those.
I think this shows it best.
The smallest active site on the network has 609 scenes. Six of the 8 active sites have over 1,000 scenes. So they have 8 very successful sites in their network. And one of the archived sites has over 800 casting videos on it.
But there's no doubt that 1byday is the site that made this network possible and at least for me, has me considering a 2nd year membership. I really can't say that for any sites anymore.
I'll end by saying I'm probably not completely fair towards the newer content. I'm very understanding towards porn sites being limited to the crowd of potential porn models to hire, but so many of the newer girls and scenes don't live up to the older scenes. It's completely possible that's because their older models are my favorites.
Having said that, some of the newer girls have caught my attention like Cindy. Even so, there's still some old favorites coming back to like one of the newest updates that featured a longtime favorite Simony Diamond.
Continuing in my positive talk of this site is the different ideas used over the years. Very few worked that well, but at least they try. One of my favorites was the split-screen video of models masturbating. It was a unique perspective that other sites/networks have gone on to use it a lot. Then there's one of the greatest scenes ever recorded, Zuzana Z from above, outside, with red hair (after being a stunning blonde for years, very softcore model), grabbing a chainsaw-type device that had its saw/chain removed and replaced by a large dildo. Our once innocent, sweet Zuzana went on to use that powered dildo on herself out in the open until she orgasmed multiple times.
That's it. I've tried and tried to explain what it is I look for in porn and I really believe the uniqueness, the act I've not seen 1,927 times (public exhibitionism not included) and it's what I think DDF does best out of the Euro networks.
bigvman, I think you misunderstood my post. My main point was that you could have posted a comment with the word "warning" in the title and explained the slow speed situation and at least a close description as to where you are located. This way, potential members would see the warning clearly labeled in the comments in case they were in the area you are in or close to it. See what I mean? Since we don't title our reviews, yours just blends right in with the other reviews, but warning as the title of a comment would have been clear to everyone.
Though one of their webmasters is now posting on this entry, I would like to say that I've not known many sites that offer refunds. Similar to your comparison, unless the store you hypothetically mentioned has a return policy, then I wouldn't see why the customer would be upset that they didn't get a refund. You also mentioned that the hypothetical product was defective, but in this case, if the rest of us are using the DDF sites and you're saying you know when in America that you wouldn't have these problems, I think you can see that the defective part isn't their site.
I'm on your side though, I hope they do something to fix it for you.
My first thought when reading this review is that it probably should have been a comment/warning instead of a review. The reason I say that, you have 6 pros/4 cons, and two of the cons only are cons in the area you are in.
On the flipside, I'm also in on the special right now at 1byday/DDF and have received 95% of my max download speed for two straight weeks. The only problem I've had is that a few thumbs don't open, but that has always been a problem with the DDF sites. Believe Spencer's new TBP 1byday review even mentions the problem.
There also have been a few other comments here about the sites running a little slow during this promotion, but each says their DL speed is fine. If you will look back at your bottom-line, it isn't so much a review of the site or content as it is an explanation of the problems you are having with the site. Not trying to bust your balls or anything like that, I'm just not for sure how a site with 6 pros and only 2 global cons rates a 69 and think it would have been much better served as a comment/warning for those that will be in the area you are in.
Hey Denner, I also had stopped by and saw that they have a new set with the lovely Aneta Keys in it. Last I had heard, Aneta was in a pretty bad car wreck last year, so I am guessing this is her first new set in well over a year. Also made a note on the positive side that all of their updates so far in May have been new updates and not just reloaded updates. Maybe they are turning the corner and coming back strong? I'm still waiting on DDF to launch the new Eve Angel site, but that is a whole other story!
Panther, I guess you missed where I said that there could be numerous reasons. Anyway, most reviews of 1byday, from major review sites were done in 2007. Long before they went to the 2 updates per day format. The only current reviews and comments that are public and easily viewed, by way of visiting TBP, are the PU ones. I'm looking at the list of "outside reviews" and only see two of the major sites (Freeones, Sir Rodney) that have reviewed 1byday over the last year, and I'm not for sure how seriously anyone takes Freeones reviews.
And you're right, the reason you give is a possibility, which is the reason I said there are numerous possibilities. I also know that last year, 1byday had a lull in new updates and it was because DDF was off filming, seems like it was around last spring. The one I gave is a possibility too. I remember 1byday changing their removal of archive right after several PUs complained about it.
As for you, please, get over whatever your problem is with me. This comment was not about me or my reply.
Well, the site was never officially called 1byday and 1bynight. I guess there could be many reasons why they went back to 1 update per day. One, I think, could be the fact that they have several new sites, another is they are launching the new Eve Angel solo site and I guess Denys can only be in so many places at one time to film new content.
Maybe the growing negativity towards the site has taken away some of their ambition. Even when delivering two full HD updates per day, some were still complaining in reviews. One of those damned if they do, damned if they don't scenarios.
I will give you this much, there does seem to be some site sharing content between the DDF sites and I don't understand why they are doing that either.
Things I don't agree with at all.
Anyone can take a look at their site right now and see 30 new updates since January with 40 or so reloaded updates that are remastered and of a much higher quality, but you say, "I was a member for 3 months and only saw an increase in the amount of archive material being re-posted."
As much as you don't think that is fair that they do remaster and re-release content, they are not hiding it from anyone. You can easily see from the cover of each set if it is reloaded and can see that in their preview before joining. And if the original was 512 high end and in parts and the new is 1280 high end, and in full scenes, it is new in that sense.
I was one of the first ones to complain about the archive removal in January, but I wouldn't say they hid it or covered up. I have an email from them that explains in full that they removed the archive and it came with a link where I could still access the archive.
Where your review jumped out at me was when you said, "I have been a member of their main competitor site and they showed everyone's comments and posted replys to most of them." Who is their main competitor? I noticed that the two family of sites that I generally consider the top two in Euro porn, 1byday/DDF and Pix and Video/21st Sextury BOTH received a bad review and a bad comment from you. It just made me wonder with so many untruthful parts in both if maybe you had a connection to the main competitors site that you mentioned.
I guess it also looked strange to see a complaint and con, and would assume a removal of points for them not responding to requests for different settings. I didn't even know 1byday offers members the chance to pick the setting. Even more so, I don't even know what a "train carriage" is, a bakery and shop, would sound like settings from a niche/fetish site.
Again, I am sorry if I am wrong, but I know for a fact that most of the things you say here are not true and the things you say in your comment about Pix and Video's site isn't true either, and I know that I can't be wrong about those parts that aren't true. Between the two, I felt like I had no choice but to change my trust vote from yes to no. I can deal with strange and differing opinions, but not the untruthful parts.
I talked to 1bystaff in email over the weekend, and expressed that not just me, but many others were frustrated with the removal of the archives. They replied back and at that time confirmed that the archive had been removed from the newly designed site. I do want to say that I think the new content is great in quality and update schedule, but the newer models are not near as established as the ones that fill the archives. They sent me a link to where the archives could still be found. That really wasn't a big help since the pic sets in the archive was DL fine, but the movie files were saying unauthorized access.
I get up this morning to see that 1byday has reverted to the previous website design. Archives, model categories are all back and the not so helpful search box has been removed. Oh and the regular login screen is back, so you won't have to login every 5 minutes.
I would like to think they listened to us on this and decided to go back, and that this isn't just a temporary fix to hush us up. If ain't broke, don't fix it! I personally thought the current format was very clean running on the new content, visually appealing and the options will always top nearly all sites.
Thanks 1byday for bringing back the archives, those archives always justified the higher price.
Well, my first week of my current 1byday subscription was marred by the bonus free 7 sites for a week deal, causing downloads to be nearly impossible. Now, I go on, its my last 4-5 days of the membership, and they have changed the site. I'm guessing they are changing navigation too. There is now a search box that I hadn't seen before, gone is the drop down model list, gone are the categories and the biggest problem. In my last week on 1byday, I always go to archive section since Euro models come and go and I usually find at least a couple that I have only recently discovered that had older archive content on 1byday.
Guess what? The archive is gone. The updates go back to July 2007. The link options are Home, Updates, Models, Extras, Support, Logout. None of the content in the models section goes back beyond July 2007, even though the join page still lists "daily updates since 2001". Maybe it is a technical glitch with the new format, but this will end up being two wasted weeks of a 4 week subscription. I guess that my complaints wouldn't be as likely if the site didn't cost $35 per month. I pay more, I expect more. The site also has a new member sign in feature that does not save your login info, so you have to type it back in each time you visit. And this morning, after signing in, all I received was a link to a site that looked to be a hacker site. All in all, I think calling this "disappointing" would be an understatement.
I had considered doing the exact same thing, but 1byday has a model that I had never seen before, looks very exotic named Yoha, and she has several sets put up recently. So I figured with my luck that my 5 days to 1byday would run out and they would up 2-3 more new sets of her!
I think they have changed some of those bonus sites. I downloaded a couple of sets from "Euroteenerotica.com" of Eve Angel that have this for a file name on the zip, "Eurogirlsongirls" oops ha ha! I also know there used to be the very rare Anetta Keys blowjob clip on onlyblowjob.com but it isn't there anymore. Maybe they should just consider combining these similar to how Twistys has done? I'm guessing it would seriously boost their membership joins.
I had checked that taboo site as well, but didn't see much that interested me, though I did like the Zuzanna Z sets on it. She reminds me of Mia Stone. Oh, have you seen Wivien/Vivien/Wanda? Her new sets are some of the best I've seen from any model. What a body, fake boobs and all, that is probably the best boob job I've seen. I had only seen one set of her on vivthomas with Eve, she seems to have caught Denys eye now.
The only latex suit set that I've really liked is the Aria Giovanni ones. Aria has to be one of the few models that fills a latex suit out completely. I always wondered if Julie wore a girdle, if not she had an incredible hips to waist ratio!
trashman, the problem isn't the content at all. I love 1byday's content, though repetitive, I love the Euro models. And as I'm finding out after joining around 150 sites over the last two years, it is all getting repetitive. I could though see how someone who doesn't really like the Euro solo style would get tired of this site.
No problem, in their defense, they did seem to get it going strong again, so strong in fact that I had 6 connections going at 250 kb/s each this afternoon. My normal top speed is a total of 1,200 kb/s, so I was going over that. On a side note, similar to what Drooler said, most of the content on these bonus sites are already on 1byday. It kind of surprised me since I thought each site was exclusive.
I thought what a great deal, get 5 days access to the other 7 DDF sites for $34.95, plus 1byday too.
In the last 4 hours I've seen this "No suitable nodes" and this "Please login" after logging in for the 20th time. Sorry DDF, but this ideal was the wrong one to offer if your servers can't handle the load. I haven't been able to download anything from any of the sites over the last 24 hours, how is that for a bonus?
Just wondering about the price of 1byday, I was checking it out to see what all new had been added, and noticed on the join page that it says $29.95 per month, with the dollar sign instead of the Euro symbol. I don't know why I would make a big deal about $6, but was curious about it.
Agree with nygiants03, my problem with 1byday is that my membership runs out before I download everything I want. Of the hundreds of sites I have been a member of, I don't know of any off the top of my head that has more content than 1byday.
I have tried with Peck's Power Join which I got from the 21st Sextury sites, but my understanding is that the older clips are missing frames. When you join them, or at least the ones I try, the video freezes when the 2nd clip starts or there is no volume. I watched one yesterday from 1byday, believe it was Sophie Moone's 2nd video with them in 2002. It has flashes in it, I have no idea what that it is. It is like watching an old filmstrip. The screen jerks and a light flashes.
As I was telling JD, I think some of my frustration was getting a total of 35 more minutes or Aria Giovanni teasing. I just wish she would stop the nonsense.
I agree, but my guess is they could have taken the money they paid Aria Giovanni to tease us with and rounded up 10-12 programmers to get it done. I may have just been frustrated with the Aria videos when I typed that complaint!
Maybe I was just dreaming, but I thought for sure when I saw that beautiful new opening page that all the site would be updated to that look, but the archives goes back to the old pink and white pages. I'm personally boycotting Aria Giovanni. I thought for sure her videos from July on 1byday would at least be masturbation. But it isn't. I really do applaud DDF for at least working to make his site better. I love the 2 updates per day idea, and that is 2 pic sets with HD videos for each one as well. What I would really like to see is the older videos be pieced together into one file. I've never watched a Sandra Shine solo movie from 1byday simply because they are split, and she is in my top 5 favorites.
I don't know if the newer content since July is on a different server, but there is a speed improvement on the new content. Overall, the re-launch is a good one, but I think it could have been much better.
Meant to reply to this earlier, sorry about that Khan. You can check my Xisty review, reply #6 where I got that information at. The only thing I had wondered and maybe you would know the answer on. Would it be possible that some of the models' names are copyrighted? Like Eve Angel for example, since she has her own site. Sophie Moone is another, Lora Craft and so on. Wouldn't they have to give a site permission to use the name like Eve Angel since it is copyrighted? I'm not real familiar with copyright laws, but I have noticed that most models who use several names have solo sites as well. Also Sandra Shine, she is probably the best example. On Twistys, some of her sets download as Judit, others download as Sandra Shine. But on the site she is listed as just Sandra. The other interesting part is have you noticed that most that use multiple names are European? I do know there are different copyright laws depending on the country. I also vaguely remember and you probably remember this to, back when Aria Giovanni was everyone's #1 model, another site came out with a similar built model named Aria, then they would put, (The Real) Aria or Aria (Pornstar) as her name. Since she did hardcore, it threw a lot of Aria Giovanni fans off so that we went and joined these sites thinking it was Aria Giovanni doing hardcore.

Hey Denner, two of the webmasters have replied to me complaining about the different names, both said that the models sign their name (I guess on a release) and whatever name they sign, they have to use. I think the best site for models names is Twistys, most people don't even realize this. If you go on Twistys and search for say Anetta Keys, even though her name is Aneta Smrhova on Twistys, it will still bring up Anetta Keys. If you search for Severine, it will bring up Eve Angel, which was Eve's old screenname. The best example is if you search for Henrietta or Diamond it will bring up Simony Diamond, as she has used about 7 or 8 names in her career. The worst I have seen is teen dreams, though I really like the site, their names are all confused and they will have something like 4 models with the same name.
1byday has been a long mainstay in my favorite sites category. The only complaint any of us really had about it was that the site had a dated look and hadn't really improved the quality that much. Then, the quality improved greatly this month, plus they have had the high quality hardcore videos for awhile.
August is my month to re-join it, so I was looking around at all the changes which include a daily calender that shows not only what day an update was posted of each model, but also the exact time. So, I was scanning the updates and a major gasp, Aria Giovanni is now on 1byday and has been for all of July. I can't preview the videos but one says 17 minutes. Looks like I will be making a trip back here to follow-up my review which already has 1byday in my top 10. I will post something about the new Aria content, it is rare to see new exclusive Aria content, especially if it is high quality/resolution.
Hey, one of their webmasters at Hands on Hardcore had replied to me a few weeks ago and said they were making big changes at 1byday to be sure to check it out. I guess this is the big changes! I join it every 4 months anyway, may have to bump it up a month ha ha!

Pros:
- Incredible amount of material, soft, hard and even machines
- Nice variety with a brutally hardcore section, blowjob/facial section, solo section and lesbian section
- Most of the best Euro models are here for collectors, Eve Angel, Sophie Moone (over 40 sets of the gorgeous blonde alone), Angel Dark, Sandra Shine, DDF has them all
- Denys is an excellent photographer and the pictures show it. He brings the best out in the models.
Cons:
- Older videos are average quality at the very best
- Older videos also are only downloadable in smaller clips which can make downloading frustrating if you have a fast internet connection since the clips are only 12 megs each on average and each set can have up to 10 clips
- I wish the pictures were bigger.
Bottom Line:
I've been a member on 1byday on three different occasions over the years. I really like the site, especially the different variety of genres. My only real problem with the overall site is the quality on some videos that are older and the smaller picture sizes. The biggest pictures are in the 1.6 range. I like seeing the big Euro stars named above and throw in Anetta Keys, most of their sets on 1by-Day are earlier in their careers which can be hard to find. The Machines section is a nice addition, but it doesn't stand on its own like the original Machines site does. Which it doesn't need to with the other sections of videos added in.
My favorite part is that pretty much every picture set also has a video set as well. So you don't find yourself seeing a picture set and thinking, "I wish there was a video of this set" because there usually is on 1by-day. None of the complaints are that major. There could be a deeper search engine, instead, you browse the hundreds, maybe thousands of women alphabetically or by using a drop down menu. I would like to see all of these sites that has this much material to use a search engine that allows filters for hair color, ethnicity, and so on. Especially seeing that a lot of the women don't use the same name on different sites.
Overall, I would recommend it, the newer videos are HD quality and with the hardcore, machines, solo, lesbian sections it is unlikely that you will find much to complain about.

Improvement in quality and two HD updates per day has pushed 1byday up into a class by itself!
I noticed those sites too, as far as I know $1.23 US is right! I've seen varied reviews though, some that say the price is $1 too much ha ha. At that price though, you can't go wrong.
