I found that 10th Anniversary deal and I am thinking of joining the herd and signing up. I have yet to be a member of any DDF site yet, so it sounds like my hard drives may have some serious spinning to do...

I still can't believe they see this site as explicit, since, at least as far as I know, they shoot girl-only content -- which technically isn't even hardcore -- and it is not exactly "hard" girl-girl or solo girl content at that.
A recent thread mentioned their company, G Media, offices being raided by police because their porn was illegally explicit. These types of stories seem to rarely have happy endings, as porn and the law do not have a good relationship.
So, does anyone know what's going to happen? If any current members get news or updates from the site about its status, could you please pass it along here or in the above mentioned thread. I have yet to be a member of this site, but it's on my list, and I am steeling myself for the reality that it might not exist in the near future. :(

As I remember this was a pretty limited time offer, and I don't think I could get it once I had cancelled my ALSScan membership even with time left on my subscription. Try asking more current members if they know of this discount or anything similar.

Bottom Line:
The bottom line is I love ALS Scan, but Angels...is just not the same.
I think the score of 80 is common because these guys just know how to shoot well, and make great choices in who they shoot. These are not bargain bin babes, or well-worn veteran models with decades under their garter belts, but gorgeous, and frequently amateur, models who only get as nasty as they feel comfortable doing. The action is not forced, and it helps to produce a fun and happy mood.
Despite their choices in models, I prefer the American ones over the Eastern Europeans. At ALS, about 1/3 to 2/5 of the models are Euro, but here, at least 50% of the 88 models are Euro. Don't get me wrong, these women are gorgeous, but I would love to see more Americans. It seems there should be plenty of choices in our 300 million+ population, but they still have a lot of Euro girls -- not nearly at the levels of other sites -- but still too many for my specific perverted tastes.
Newer hi-res photos get as big as 3800x3500, and new HD videos are available in 1280x720 DivX or MP4, or big 1920x1080 WMVs. Older pics and vids are considerably smaller, and sadly, they only started archiving their video releases subce Feb '07, so there is nowhere near the amount of video content as on their sister site, and the releases only come about 3-4 times per week.
Other reviewers have adequately explained the routine monotony of photo shoots, but these can still produce hot content. It's just that a lot of stuff is BTS and you can get lost in the repetition of it.
This site says it "presents the more mature looking models with generally larger breasts" in comparison with ALS Scan, but beyond that there is little difference, and "mature" is frequently only a few months more so, and the "larger breasts" are about the only thing that keeps these models out of the petite teen pack found at the original site.
Devout ALS fans have no doubt checked out this site, and it is worth it for at least a month to collect stuff from models only mentioned on ALS. Those who are brand new to the world of All Ladies Shaved may want to check out ALS Scan, unless larger breast sizes are an absolute must in a membership.
I'm not sure 100 would be appropriate for any site, but if you can fit your viewing habits into ALS' particular niche and how they capture it then why not go all the way? I just know that since giving it a score of 97 way back when that I've grown bored over their approach and really disappointed over their use of boy-girl content, no matter how limited.

I sort of knew the answer anyway as I think Alex had mentioned on ALS' blog that they wouldn't allow members to actually choose the models. I think we've also discussed it here in the reviews or in the forum somewhere that ALS doesn't do this, and basically no site lets its members make hiring decisions.
The only "voting" that goes on is in e-mail correspondence, and possibly sites like this as well, where a model is popular enough to come back for a second shoot. Of course, in ALS' case they can all come back!
Great review Messmer! It can be a very hefty site in terms of disk space, not to mention the hours spent ogling the videos and pics. They have also been one of the fastest downloading sites I have ever subscribed to...so you can spend more time watching instead of waiting.

Messmer, I couldn't remember from when I was a member but do they allow member voting for these mass auditions, or is it just BTS long after the audition?
It'd be pretty cool if they allowed a democratic audition selection but I bet the webmasters would have some serious disagreements. Hell, they've been selecting ALS-approved models for well over a decade I'm sure they have a more finely tuned wow-factor meter. ; - )
I'm not a fan of public nudity--I feel it's too Jackassesque to be erotic--but it is there, even if not as the main attraction, which is shaved ladies in privates places showing off their private places. ;-) Anyway, they generally seem to relegate the public nudity to bonus scenes, with a half hour or more (sometimes up to an hour) of video, with at least a hundred photos, again usually more, which I guess if you like public nudity are pretty good bonuses. I think the majority of the these full public nudity scenes are from Eastern Europe since doing it in the U.S. would be a crime against humanity or something, but they do occasional flashing in their American outdoor shoots, but not full-on public nudity for the entire scene.
They also have their annual Caribbean trip where they devote a day to going to the beach and shooting the girls pretty freely, that is on a nude public beach, with a lot of photos and video. I like these a little more than the traditional public nudity because they can be more exciting and open.

Though it has been two years since I last reviewed them, over a year since I was a 'regular' member (I rejoined for the first time in a long while last month), and my newer score is lower than before. I miss the way they were a few years ago but I think they still kick ass for dude-free material.
Current Member for less than 1 month (at the time of review).
Pros:
+ 250+ smiling, skinny, shaved, super-hot hot models
+ Still almost purely solo- or girl-girl action that stays pretty entertaining
+ Amazing quality:
• videos: HD up to 1920x1080 @ 300 kb/s
• photos: hi-res are roughly 3900x2600px
+ Great quantity too; archived vids back to Apr 2007, photos much farther back
+ Daily video updates, new photo set released every two days
+ Download speeds have a lot of ass; I normally got about 1.3MB/s with a DL manager
+ They donate some of their pervy profits to charity, in case philanthropy is a deciding factor
Cons:
- Large percentage of videos are just BTS, and with photo sets the BTS is usually just mixed in
- Some models' content takes a long time to get released or simply stays unreleased
- Site design works well for what it is, but still has NO search function
- They are beginning to delve into boy-girl content, even if only lightly (read more in BL)
- Despite the fun some content can get predictable and routine
- 2 years since my first review and I still wish they would shoot more American girls or non-Euro girls
- I don't get to meet these girls in person! :-(
Bottom Line:
What can I say that hasn't already been said so many times and so well about one of my all time favorite adult sites over the years--hell, over the history of much of the crazy web itself, seeing how these guys have been finding and shooting hot shaved ladies since 1996. And since they have been doing this for so long they know a thing or two about getting the goods; great photo and video quality, lots of content, fast access, and above all some very happy models, many of whom come back wanting more.
That last point, happy models who become 'repeat offenders' shall we say, is not something I take lightly when I am looking for a new site to join and it's something where ALS has never faltered. I may be in the minority when I say this, but I genuinely don't enjoy porn where the performers, know matter how willing, are abused, beaten up, disrespected, or at the end of the day just left dissatisfied and unhappy. Of course ALS being in the girls only genre probably helps keep things in check but it, like the majority of sites, is still owned and run by a male and caters to a primarily male audience.
And despite all of this male input the output for many years was totally female; female models with female assistants in most cases and a female co-performer or two in some others. But in the past few years they have, if ever so slightly, started to also use male assistants, or at least made them more visible in both photos and videos--not my cup of tea, thank you very much. Even more alarming--or simply the next logical step, depending on your view--they have just recently shot an actual boy-girl scene. It's yet to be released and is described as a blowjob scene with swallowing, but time will tell as to where ALS steers its content.
Generally speaking, and if you're not looking for hardcore content, there's a lot to love here and at least a little to hate. So take your pick; young, skinny, shaved, mostly white models who are not too shy, so don't be surprised by a single model performing many if not all of the following; peeing, fisting, speculum and other crazy insertions, anal, and near constant spreading. The site design may not be impressive to many, nor may be the large amount of BTS, but don't let it fool you--as girls-only content goes they do not disappoint.
I do wish they would be more consistent in releases though. They still have a habit of letting members vote on models' scenes to determine release order and this can mean months before a model's whole shoot is available, and some just never gets released at all. I guess this is a good thing--so much content that there's not enough time to release it all--but I would like to see it eventually. And as unique as some of their content is it can get predictably routine; toy A into slot b, and so on.
But damn if they don't make it look hot time and time again with each new model they find and corrupt. All these years and I'm still sold! :-P

While I haven't seen the video yet (they haven't released it) I think Alex is just hyping his language up a little. If you're used to his writing, mostly in his blog, he is in love with hyperbole like most other adult webmasters out--hell, everyone on the Net--and you can't take him at his exact word. 'Ram' probably doesn't mean Max Hardcore is making a conjugal visit or that it's that violent of a scene, it's just Alex's way of getting members to keep on clickin'.
I think he was also trying to emphasize they weren't suddenly doing facial or an all out hardcore scene, just a BJ for now. Well this is really new territory for ALS--just read the first two responses to my comment--hardcore has never been their thing. At all. For longtime members this is like throwing out the Bill of Rights because it goes against what the site has been traditionally doing for years.

Well I never thought I would see the day!
Longtime loyal followers of ALS know that they have a pretty strict girls-only model policy--i.e. no guys to do the penetration or pretty much anything else--but with a new model they shot this week, Amy Brooke, they have entered uncharted territory. Don't get me wrong, Amy sounds like a great model; a lover of anal, squirting, and other such perversions, but I don't want to see ALS do hardcore, at least not the kind involving guys.
Call me stubborn, orthodox, old-fashioned, close-minded, I don't care; I have always counted on ALS to bring out the hot girls while leaving the guys to drool off camera. I'm not going to "yell" at Alex as he asked in his blog but I will cry, at least a little for the old ALS.

I just joined a few days ago and they do have quite a bit of old-but-new-to-you releases (previously unreleased) as well as some so-so remasters. I like the video remasters because it seems in the past ('90s through early 2000s) they weren't as concerned about video releases as they are now and a lot of this stuff just didn't make it to the site or wasn't archived for long periods like they do now (which go back to April 2007).
The photo remasters are really nothing special in my book; much bigger sizes but a lot of them are from when ALS was shooting on film and they just don't digitize as well as pictures originally shot digitally (sounds obvious, but some film can look great even when it's been scanned). I assume these are from negatives or slides or something similar but the colors look too dark and deep and the film grain is obvious in the higher resolution photos. I don't think they are really worth all the trouble unless you have a real boner for a model from years ago.
Also, a note about their video download options, much like a recent thread, there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference between quality in older ones. For example a recent Brea release shot in the mid-2000s; it was shot in SD and the download options are either a 640x480 DivX or a 720x540 WMV. It's a short four minute video of her, well, let's say making a very good excuse to clean the bathroom floor. ; ) Anyway the WMV is slightly bigger in resolution but the file size is 16MB smaller and I can't see any difference in quality.
Their HD releases however are offered in three options of two sizes; 1280x720 in MP4 and DivX plus massive 1920x1080 WMVs that are around twice the file size of the DivXs and MP4s, and the qualitative difference is noticeable here (as are the gargantuan space requirements).
They are shooting some super hot new models, but it's still fun to look at previous models without having to take up vast swaths of hard drive space with half hour bonus videos.
How Much Old Material Are They Re-releasing/'Remastering'
I am thinking of rejoining my old vice--shaved ladies!--and was wondering how many of ALS' updates are old remastered or unreleased material?
From what I could tell looking at their update pages it seems as if they have at least one set or scene from the past being released on average about every week or even as often as every four or five days. Forgive me, for I don't have all of their old material (yet) so I am not sure what's brand new and what's not but if any members could give me a clue it would be much appreciated.
