Shap announced in the Twistys forum today that he has sold Twistys to the owners of Brazzers. He was craving more time with his family and I'm sure that he had built Twistys into a valuable business. I wish Shap the best. He's certainly been one of the most classy and open site-owners in all of his posts on this site. And while I felt that Brazzers was at one time a bait-and-switch operation, all of that pre-dated the current ownership, who have operated the site in a more honest way with a lot of high-quality material. So it seems like a good match and one that should bode well for the future.
I got a heads-up today on the need for members of Twistys to keep good track of their book-keeping. I got a "your membership has expired" e-mail with a "special invitation" to re-join at a price higher than the price that I'm paying with my current membership deal.
I wasn't sure that my membership should have expired, so I tried to just log-in - no problem. My membership is still ongoing.
So make sure that you keep track of your book-keeping and don't get suckered into a redundant join because of Twistys incorrect records.
Twisty's has historically been quite dependable as far as keeping their site up and updating regularly and making sure access problems don't happen - up to now.
This week, they are pissing me the fuck off.
On the 14th, I suddenly had no access - checked to make sure my membership hadn't expired - I wasn't anywhere near the end of my current membership period. I e-mailed, got a response - "hey, there's no problem - here's your username & password" - still no access - I let them know, didn't hear anything back.
The next day I had access again - cool
Then on the 18th I got a response to my second e-mail from 4 days earlier saying "Oh, yeah - we had a problem here - we fixed it and here's your new username & password". Guess what? I had no access to Twisty's but the new username & password worked at Nicole Graves. Now I'm back into the "there's no problem. Your username & password work fine for us" phase of things.
Aaarrgh! What the fuck good does it do me if they have access but I don't? I don't give a shit if they have access if I don't have access! And to have had the problem get fixed until they monkeyed with it again really pisses me off!
So now I'm telling them "Fix it or refund me - but do one or the other now, cause I'm sick of this crap."
Anybody else having problems with Twisty's these days? It's surprising for this to be happening with such a usually-dependable site. I want access so I can go back to complaining about their over-photoshop
It's been clear for a while that Nicole Graves' solo site, NicoleGraves.com (formerly Naughty CoCo) is related to Twisty's due to the design. Shap recently announced that NicoleGraves.com is now available to all Twisty's members as part of your network membership - coolio!
Sick of the over-painted pics at Twisty's? Check out Nicole's unpainted pics at her solo site, which has some boy/girl stuff too. I like Nicole and while she can look a bit too plastic when her pics are all painted, she looks very sexy to me without all the photo treatment. She's got an odd face - more cute than pretty - and there's something very hot about her - the magnetic appeal of charismatic imperfection.
At the moment - there's always the possibility that this is just a temporary mistake - non-VIP members have NO ACCESS to download vids - not the newest vids, not the vids released a few months ago, not the vids on Nicole Grave's site.
Good news - as of 6:30 PM Pacific on Tuesday, the download buttons are back. And they work.
Dupe scenes have always been a fact of life with Videobox - with so much licenced repackaged stuff being posted, it's going to happen a lot, and it does. But when Videobox is posting Pornstar Power 2 on 12/11/14, and then posting Getting Slammed #2 on 12/12/14 - a DVD that dupes 2 scenes for the Pornstar Power DVD - that's just laziness on the level of "urp - I posted my DVD's of the day - time for a beer".
You know the search function of a site is crap when you download a scene from "Where The Girls Sweat" and wonder who directed the thing so you put Where The Girls Sweat in the "search site" box and the response is "0 results".
The person who designed the search function for Videobox should go work for the Health & Human Service's website for insurance exchanges so all the people who can't get a website to function correctly can be in one place.
You know a "search" engine on a porn movie site is absolute shit when you put in Asa Akira and get no results. This kind of thing is not uncommon with the "search" on VB3 and there's no pornstar listing on VB3 - I mean, why would you want that on a porn movie site?
So, Videobox changed their pricing model as sites often do - now subscribers to premium channels can get them both for 1 price, as compared to paying $17.95/month for 1.
I inquired, as a current subscriber, whether current subscribers - like me - would be upgraded to get access to the other premium channel. My first response was a fairly rote response - here's the FAQ's - not helpful. I thought that would be the end of it.
Today I come home from work, surprised and pleased to see that someone who works for Videobox actually read my inquiry and upgraded my account to get access to the other premium channel.
TBP has updated their price listings correctly, but that photo of the $9.95 membership is also a thing of the past. It doesn't look to me that their long-term membership has increased yet, though.
Adding to the Evil Angel marketing confusion - their "official" site, EvilAngel.com, their network, based around Buttman.com, their Premium Channel at Videobox - they also have full DVD's available at Videosz as part of their regular updates - no premium join required.
The files aren't as big as the files at Videobox, but they actually seem to be posting the DVD's with all bonus material, judging from the time being listed for the various scenes in the latest posting - Justin Slayer's "Unleashed vs Freshly Slayed"
Perhaps they only have Justin Slayer's material. I wasn't able to find Evil Angel on their list of studios, so perhaps he bought the rights back from Evil Angel at some point.
I decided to give this site a spin for a month. There was a nice $1.95/2 day trial offer for ZTOD.com when joining - that's a pretty good deal since membership - including trial membership - to ZTOD.com includes membership to ThirdMovies.com and BlackIce.com.
I don't care about Black Ice, but Third Degree does some nice stuff, as does Zero Tolerance. One thing I found, though, is that both those sites now offer HQ downloads - they look fabulous, but play haltingly on the 2 media players that I tried playing them back on - too bad - longer download time, less enjoyable results. The 2nd largest download option - the 720p option - gave me better results on both sites. When I was cancelling my membership to ZTOD.com - I would have been whacked with $34.95/month if I didn't cancel within 2 days - I was offered a membership of $29.95 - I didn't take it, but the trial offer was a sweet deal, even with the playback issues - sometimes video playback freeze gives you great images.
I really like W4B's bts scenes, which are short, but beautifully shot and very erotic. But their longer films, which tend to be in the 7-10 minute range - holy hell, they're awesome. For my tastes, whoever is making films for MetArt, SexArt, Femjoy, Hegre, etc, should just stop until they watch every film on this site - and maybe they'll learn a thing or 3 about how to make really hot, erotic films that show off the model to her best advantage, don't try to serve too many masters at the same time (it's a travelogue, it's a how-to-do-a-photo-shoot piece, it's a promotion for some music that doesn't do anything for the heat of the piece.) The new Little Caprice film they put up today is worth a month's membership all by its own self.

I haven't looked to see if your friend's sub recurs or is only for the first period that you pay for, but this is a new one to me for pay internet sites, though Playboy has sent out offers like this by mail around the holidays for years.
I would vote WickedPictures.com the #1 Most Confoundingly Directionless Site on the internet. Two weeks ago they had me raving about the huge new pics in their new galleries. Then I logged in yesterday to see that they were promoting their new Members Area, which has NO Galleries - No Pics - None! That's easily half the material on the current site and - for a pic fan - a big reason for the appeal of the site. I would be thinking - "oh, they just need a day or 2 to add the galleries" except that nowhere on the newest site promo does it even mention pics or galleries - it's all about how many vid scenes they have.
Oh, and on the old site, which we still have access to temporarily, the newest galleries are not the new huge size pics, they're back closer to what they used to be.
Oh, and on the new site, the big "upgrade" they promote is the ability to stream and download all vids at 720p - not one of the vids I tested had the sound synched with the vid - not one!
I was completely blown away to log onto WickedPictures.com today and see that the newest pics of Kaylani Lei are posted at an immense 2832 X 4256 - I love seeing every detail of her gorgeous bod - including her wonderful eraser-like erect nipples - mmmmmmmmmm.
I hope this is a change that stays. I wouldn't be surprised if some members complain about how long pics load. I don't care, since when they load, they look so freaking awesome!
Now if they could correct the date of the upcoming Live Show - it's saying the next one is December 6th - and I don't think they mean 2011. Pardon me - I own no time machine.
It was announced on Tuesday that Wicked has contracted with the company that owns Brazzers.com to run their web-sites. That's better than contracting with the people that run Devils Film and EvilAngel.com, my prediction, since Brazzers has successful live shows, which is the best part of the WickedPictures site - site re-launch coming sometime next year, I assume.
Since another PU member pointed out to me where the download button is for this site, I've done a number of trials.
My conclusion: If you want to join this site for the ability to download their scenes, don't bother - unless you want to just spend your time corresponding with their Support crew, because it's just a bunch of glitchy crap, for the most part.
Scenes will download with the sound out of synch or you'll go to download and receive 345 bytes of nothing.
I've been poking around on the site a bunch - and that's my experience anyway.
Join to be able to stream movies - that works consistently, though they're updates are all fucked up - movies there one day, gone the next - and as I said in another post, if you do a modicum of research - like Wikipedia pages - you'll be able to answer questions and win free DVD's and other stuff that will more than offset the cost of membership to this glitchy site.
