Close but no cigar, as they say over here! Sigh. Just took the tour and while the theme may be strip tease, the site wouldn't do much for a lingerie fan. Of all the samples I looked at (and there were a lot) there were only four where the model wore more than a bra and panties under her everyday clothes.
This may be realistic if you're striving for ordinary people getting naked in a slow strip sequence, but it would be a disappointment for me.
As you know, I'm striving for ordinary people getting slowly naked by shedding umpteen pieces of not so ordinary lingerie! :-) Nice review, though, Capn!

Well it has happened! Well mostly, it's a mix of photosets (at 2048 pixel resolution) and videos (at 720x576 resolution), currently biased quite heavily towards photosets.

The sets I have downloaded so far look fine to me, Capn. Nice lighting, nice contrasts and "cool" colours rather than the over-saturated ones one sees so often in other sites . Can't speak for all of the sets of course.

capn, in the past, we have had shoots that have had poor lighting and dark shadows, but these are non-existant on the bulk of our shoots, and all our new shoots. I'd encourage you to give us another go, if you like our content.
If you have concerns about technical image quality (as opposed to lighting of a shoot), we'd like to hear more detail, as I responded to the original poster.

"Sprawling." Now there's a good term to describe a site. I'd use it, for instance, to describe sites that have multiple updates from one shoot "sprawled" over time. Or that have "feature" pics that come from shoots they also publish; think VivThomas and the "Bums" or "Legs" features. You have to work extra hard to get the stuff together! Or a site that's hard to navigate, perhaps.
You might say that they put the user through "content sprawl."

My impression is that some of the gravure models who do nude work start that late in their career (after losing or not getting the popularity/attention they were hoping for?). A few will even get into hardcore.
But the major work of gravure is non-nude photography. Because the girls can be lovely, and the photography so excellent, the photos can be erotic as well. I can't stress how lovely some of these models can be in their photos.
But it also appears that this site is showing a lot of non-exclusive photos. These were photos taken over the years, not for this site, that were already published. And this site has collected a number of these photos and is posting them to make its contents much larger than it would be otherwise. I was looking at one model at this site, a lovely teenager (I'm not a member, I was looking at the preview area), I looked the model up on the internet, and it turns out the model is now in her early thirties. Japanese girls can look much younger than their real age, but this photo was taken many years ago, when the girl was still a teenager.
She's not the only model who has pictures taken 5-10+ years ago that are posted at this site.
As long as you have a good understanding of what the site contents will be before you join this site, you might be satisfied with your membership.
But someone who expects a lot of nudity will probably be disappointed.
Also, the number of photos for each model is pretty small. You see a model you like, you will only get a tiny taste of her.

And capn, I completely agree, but there are some sites that do it very well, like Photodrom and MCNudes. AllOver30 has alot to offer, but its handcuffed IMO for the reasons I mentioned.

With me there is also a healthy dose of boredom thrown into that mix. I am so tired of all those prettied up, photoshopped, glamouros women going through their never changing hardcore routines that I frequently stray into territory that would not be my first choice if I had more pure softcore or midcore (older women) sites to pick from.

I hope you are right, Capn. But given the present trend I can only see it get worse. In most former mostly softcore sites the pressure for more hardcore is on continuously, in hairy sites the call for, or praise of more extreme hair (legs, belly,arm pits,buttocks, arms etc.) is never ending, the same as the call for more and more "anal" seems to be dominant in every hardcore site one visits. I hope they will all have enough of their fetish soon and start craving something more moderate! But if that is possible with an addiction I don't know.

That's really difficult to say, Capn, because while our tastes are similar in certain things: strip tease from fully dressed to fully nude, I get the feeling when reading your comments that your taste leans more toward everyday models wearing everyday things while mine leans toward everyday mature models wearing daring and erotic things.
There are also quite a few sets where the model starts out in a sheer nightie or in a nice lacy bra and stockings and garter belt and I think that's not exactly your cup of tea. I might be wrong??? :-)

And as I said in another spot: Hope springs eternal ... , Cap'n. :-) I would have been content with one good set out of ten every two days but the drought continues and it finally sank in: no one these days is interested in this niche but you and I and a small handful of others.
And all the soothing noises and promises that are being made to us can't be kept because most professional photographers will not know what we are looking for. I wish I could send them to Southern Charms or the Village Ladies (Vixens) because quite often these amateurs and their photographer husbands/boyfriends do it exactly right .. too bad the quality is so often poor and the set up of the sites themselves so awkward.

Until recently I have found them responsive in word but, regrettably, not in deed. There have been some "accidental" sets that gave me just what I wanted but they were few and far between. The last few weeks have been a disaster when it comes to updates that appealed to me. In the past I could always count on my favorite photographer to give me a real good set now and then .. but this past week she gave me a Devil's uniform and a vinyl police officer's uniform. I don't know who thought up those tacky scenarios. I am truly disillusioned.

Would you believe I got cold feet again, Cap'n. I keep looking at their tour and keep seeing younger women and in most of the samples they show they are nude. I simply can't get even a rough idea what they look like fully dressed and when it comes to lingerie (if they even bother with it.)
Also, as I wrote in another place, I have no use for uniforms, add to that two hardcore sections and I'm left with one section that might appeal to me. I also found (looking at their bonus pictures in AO30) that most of their photographers have never heard of landscape style photography. Another minus. And so I'm torn. I think I'll wait for a special price down the road and moan and groan a bit instead in the meantime. :-)

Searching can be fun if it's a site that's brand new to you. :-) I've seen some sample sets of theirs on AO30 and always found them a bit bland but that might only reflect the taste of the one who picks the bonuses, so I'll take the plunge and subscribe to Karups. Couldn't be worse than the above at the moment.

I can't say I agree with this assessment. I've joined this site a few times myself, and I like the idea of their changing clothes and playing out different roles from set to set. Older women who can go from evening gown to street clothes and pull 'em both off (no pun intended) are really appealling to me. If I'm reading you right, you're suggesting that older women should all fit one mold - the elegant older woman. I think that would get boring pretty quickly.

Hmm, I have always found that each model gets like 3-4 shoots in a huge varying amount of outfits. The categories were 9-5, elegant, housewife, and some others that I remember. With that said, I think there is a lot of content outside of glamour at this site. Read my reply to mr smut's recent review as to why I feel I get the most dissatisfied with this site (and mature sites in general).

In regard to not commenting on videos: I see your point, since you don't care for video, but there is a way to be simple and totally objective about commenting on it. For instance, download a few, and get some basic stats, for instance:
"Vids are mostly 640x480, bitrates averaging about 2000k." This doesn't pass any real judgment on them and you don't have to look at them at all, and the information can be helpful to people who are considering a subscription. You might also touch on other points, as in, do they contain a music track, does the videographer yakkety-yak his way through the vid, or perhaps he believes he is the Fellini of porn and films everything while standing on his head...
Even if this info has been passed on by other reviewers, it still improves your own review and makes it more complete. I'm more of a pic guy myself, so I understand where you're coming from.
I didn't read through the whole exchange so apologies if someone has already said all of this.

I am getting a better understanding and can agree to an extent on how you feel about a mature woman dressed in glam. However, the main point I'm getting at is that is like 1/4, if not less of the content on this site is glamour; so I don't understand how this can be a such a huge setback for you. I'd say more than half of the photos are featuring the women in everyday clothes. Isn't that what you want? (confused).
I am not trying to give you a hard time at all. But, I am just trying to understand your scoring for the site. A site that mixes up content with solo, lesbianism, and hardcore should be more praised, even if the solo content is what you want mostly. I just don't see how this is a negative aspect of a site and worthy of points being reduced.
Right on with the only commenting on only photography. However, I only think doing this will be a set back for your reviews in the future to not include some info on them. But, to each it's own.
But, to sum it up, I don't think I'm going to fully understand the scoring of this review without some more clarification about as to why certain aspects are cut down. However, these are opinion based reviews and just because I don't understand or fully agree with the review does not mean I am right. Thanks for your time.
