I'll confirm some of Skippy's observations with this informal review. This site is little more than a subscription tube site - with mostly amateurish content. I've not had a problem with spam (yet).
When I want a break from the usual "Pro" shenanigans, I'll subscribe to an amateur site.
I read TBP GF Network review so I went in knowing it wasn't going to be great. Even with low expectations, it was pretty disappointing. I signed up to Oral Girlfriends which is part of the GF Network.
The site is called AmaLand and it claims to be a network which consists of 20 (or so) "girl friend" sites. A site has both photos and clips (it wouldn't be fair to call the videos "scenes"). The photos and clips are unrelated to each other. A photo does not tie back to a clip and vice versa.
Since many clips have multiple site tags, the clips are duplicated across sites and in some cases a clip will show up several times on the same site. Some sites have a few hundred clips/photos, some have thousands of clips/photos.
Clips have static watermarks or crawls: "As seen on AmaLand". The video quality of the content is poor. Many clips are 320 x 240 screen size with low bit rate (300 to 600 kpbs). Some are of better resolution/bit rate. Most clips are around 4-10 minutes long. Some are in the 15-20 minute range. There are some webcam clips that are more than an hour long.
Much of the content is amateurish because the photography and lighting are of very low quality. Most of the clips are shot POV and are very shaky (i.e., many clips look like they were shot lights-out during an earthquake). Many of the clips are unedited. You'll see clips presented sideways and even upside down. Clips will begin with lots of camera thrashing and end abruptly.
I consider sites like Wifey's World, Jenny and Joey, Asian Deepthroat and Home Grown Video to be quality amateur sites. AmaLand can't hold a candle to them.
Speaking of which, I saw what looks to be a JnJ scene and a Wifey clip on AmaLand. I also spotted a scene from the old Seymore Butts "Blow Me" compilation (scene 9). That made me wonder where the content actually comes from.
Steaming is done via JWPlayer. When I tried to scrub ahead on the timeline the clip would stop playing with a "media loading error" and the streaming would halt. I was able to use a download manager (IDM) however I found that if I did D/Ls with more than one connection, the speed dropped to 1/2 or 1/3 speed.
On any given page you get 4 or 5 ads for affiliated sites.
y opinion is the subscription is not worth $28/month. When I went to cancel I was offered a "special discount rate" of $1.12 recurring every 30 days. For what you get, even that discounted rate is too steep.
The CC processor is Vendo and both sign-up and cancellation were painless.

I know what you mean with fake bondage but I don't think there is too much of that on House of Taboo. Hustler's Taboo is great but their best content is in those magazines you can't get with your membership, the videos are inferior in my opinion and have exactly all those loose cuffs and untie before sex nonsense, probably due to some old legal reasons or something.
Looking at the recent stuff on House of Taboo, the bondage seems pretty solid to me. No loose cuffs or ropes and straps the models are just holding on to. What is not solid is the whipping etc. but that I do not miss.
Latex Lucy scenes are also usually great. You find that level of fetish wear normally only in softcore stuff like Bianca Beauchamp photo shoots.

Yeah really good in-depth review. I've often come close to joining here myself but then I look through and all my favorite models are maybe here but to me are over done with the makeup that puts me off. I much prefer the natural look, the site that gets the makeup spot on is FTVgirls.

This is an excellent review. I really appreciate all the detail. This is a site I've thought about joining but never did and I think I'll pass now having read your comments. The model age is 10 years more than I prefer and I'm not a fan of big, fake breasts. (Or any fake breasts, for that matter.)

I must disagree when it comes to House of Taboo though. Having subscribed to many Kink.com sites and others, this one is still my favorite. I like the glammy looks and props, proper makeup and great looking costumes and fetish wear that they use. I really wish others focused more on this too. What I don't need are the bruises, the scars and the damp looking basements.

I'll also chip in with a couple of "cons". I think that Met-Art gets too much praise for their image quality. Sure, there are some sets--maybe 15%--where the quality is superb. But the majority are just OK or even flat-out bad. There's so much badly focused, dark, grainy crap here, that it's a relief when you finally find a set that's worth saving. Unfortunately, it's the regular contributors each day who are the mediocre ones and the really pro photographers only show up occasionally.
Secondly, I have no problem with the site being soft core, but so many sets here are heavily processed to remove skin detail, hair, etc. What you're left with often just doesn't look like a real girl, and that's what takes me out of Met-Art.

The price I get my end when using the PU link is 29.99 Euros, that's actually quite a good price given the current weakness of the Euro against the GBP or USD. Only problem is that the billing company is still that Chargepay BV that I had problems cancelling with last time I was a member so I wouldn't use them again.

Actually thank you for bringing that to our attention. What your experiencing is not intentional and were going to look into that and rectify it immediately. The 1 Month Price should always be present. The 3 Month Price is standard ( Though we are reducing our standard pricing in the coming week or two ). The Yearly price is a 15 year anniversary special which we will have active quite frequently throughout this year. Its a great deal for those who really like our content at less then 10 bucks a month.
We apologize about our high monthly Price....its been like that for a very long time, and I had hoped to drop it quite dramatically before Google dropped the hammer on adult and now we cannot get into the adwords game for traffic. We never relied on that, but found we should try it out to get more traffic to the sites and then be able to justify a nice drop in price. Unfortunately though it didnt affect us much, it affected our affiliates tremendously and with 30% drop in traffic, quite tough to cut our prices in half. So with the yearly at a very low price, thats how were able to regain the income weve lost, and its a great deal for the end consumer who receives about 1,000 exclusive scenes in that time + our archives.
Random changes in pricing are necessary for A-B testing, but we don't do that frequently at all. This is definitely a glitch, and im looking into it right after this reply.
@ Rusty - Well, I wouldnt exactly call it Spamming, and mailing is an integral part of any online business these days for survival. Our mailing list is a double opt in system, with a pretty clear "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email. We only currently mail out to expired members who have at least opened 1 email from us, expressed an interest. The deals we provide their are quite Good, and they should always work. If they do not, an email to us would be appreciated, and the discount will always be honored. My personal email is webmaster@ddfcash.com

Well written review, Skippy. Being an on and off again member over the years I agree with everything you say. However, there are a few things to add to the "con" list, IMO.
First and foremost, the site is a PHOTO site with a few unimaginative videos, usually on the cheap videos of photo shoots. The good part is you get to see more of the model than you would in an edited set of photos.
Second, their naming conventions suck. Some of their models are in the main stream with totally different names. Worse, the standard procedure seems to be to pick a random female name with a trailing number to differentiate the models with the same name. Fortunately, once a name is assigned, they stick with it rather than have multiple names for the same model.
One more minor annoyance (very minor) is that, when they do daily updates, they don't mention new sets they have added late to previous updates. That means you'll need to review the chronological update displays to find new stuff you probably didn't know existed.
Other than these minor negatives, there is no better porn site in the business both in the quality of their product and in having the most ethical and fair business practices in the business. (I was amazed when I decided to sign up for an annual membership after being a monthly member for a few weeks, they prorated the unused portion of the monthly fee as a credit on the price of the annual membership.)

Excellent review. I basically agree with everything you wrote. Except possibly I don't find the cross-selling very annoying, compared to what many other paysites do.
Obviously, I would like to get their entire network for free, after joining any one of the network sites, but we can't have everything.
I think that Metart is the best value in the network.
I even paid for a lifetime membership to Metart. I only wish I had done that from the start, because it would have saved me the monthly and annual memberships to Metart that I have paid for. Except that I think for many years while I was a member, they didn't offer a lifetime membership.

Hi Skippy, I wasn't sure if you were reviewing ATK sites generally in this review, or specifically ATK Premium.
The thing I've found with the secondary ATK sites (Premium, Exotics, Aunt Judy's) is that most of their good content is just a duplication from the primary sites (Galleria and Hairy). The primary sites also post MUCH more content each day than Premium, Exotics and Aunt Judy's. So there's little reason to sign up for the secondary ATK sites, except for a small amount of niche content which isn't very good.
On the performance side, I agree. Even when they're up and running, the response time is often slow. All the ATK sites are offline as I write this message, since they presumably all share the same server. I think there's been a number of DDoS attacks recently.

Funny, I did a month's subscription there recently (regrettably) but didn't notice the content aggregation thing. I guess I just didn't pay attention to where the content came from.
My issues with this site is that the images are not particularly good quality and you barely get to see each model in their nakedness; as soon as they're undressed, they are being banged by some dude, who never goes away. Waste of my time. This is strictly a hard core site.

Every once in a while, if you are subsribed to the Metart newsletter, which is free, you can find an interesting offer.
About a year ago, I saw an offer to join Erotic Beauty for $1/month. That includes a fixed fee of $1/month for as long as you have the subscription.
I tried to post a link to the offer at PU, but PU rules didn't allow the link.
I've never seen any other offers that good, but sometimes the Metart newsletter will offer a subscription to one of their sites for $8 or $10 for the first month.
I've been a member of Erotic Beauty for over a year now. It still costs me $1/month. But I lost the link for that offer.

It's actually changed a whole lot since just last year 2012. Daily updates have been reduced from 3 photo sets and 2 videos to 1 of each. Power search was removed at least a year ago. They no longer listen to user comments and eliminated the forum. Pretty much they no longer interact with customers. They don't shoot any European models located in Europe anymore any such content was shot at least 6 months ago. Tammy Sands, one of the best photographers they used no longer shoots for them. Holly Randall, the other best photographer they used rarely shoots for them anymore. They have started using some crappier photographers to make up for it. Oh and they now fix the ratings and supposedly are dumping the treat of the year contest after the fallout of fixing this years contest.
They're now purely driven by money and don't give a lick about customer satisfaction or new content quality. Download historical content but much of the new stuff is disappointing.
