Yes, I know Videobox has been reviewed here many times before so I won’t simply rehash everything that you can read below.
I’ve said this before – if you’re new to collecting internet porn a membership at this site is essential. Most porn video stores wouldn’t have the volume that VB has. If you’re just starting out this will take you much more than a month to get through unless you have a really narrow niche you’re looking for. The other site a newbie needs to spend some time at is American Vice. I’m amazed that VB and AV don’t overlap much more than they do. The up-side to this is that you can download from one knowing that you probably won’t find it on the other.
I first took out a VB membership in 2005 and maintained that without a break until late 2008. After that I switched to taking a monthly membership a few times a year. If you’re new to the site, expect to stay a while.
There have been some subtle changes that I’ve noticed over the past little while. One is that they seem to have been listening to a lot of complaints by users that the DVDs were heavily skewed to anal themes. Some people took to calling the site “AnalBox.” In my current stay at VB I can report that there does appear to be a reduction in anal themed DVDs. I’ll leave it to you to decide if this is good or bad. (The Rearadmiral, though, thinks it’s bad.) In my opinion, the switch away from anal (which I never thought was out of proportion with the industry – anal is popular people!) means that VB doesn’t have some anal scenes from some of the hottest new girls in the biz. Stars like Aubrey Addams and Dakoda Brookes do anal, but there aren’t a lot of their anal scenes on VB. I suspect that this is partly a response to complaints.
There are also a lot more European videos. Some of these are decent, many aren’t. When they promise five updates a day they have to have access to a lot of videos and they seem to have sourced a lot from Europe. I like European movies, but I prefer U.S. stuff because I find it easier to keep track of the stars I like.
Anal or not, one issue is that they really seem to focus on quantity over quality. Some of the videos are really bad. I mean generally bad, not just “I don’t like this fetish’ bad.
One thing I liked was that they are also adding some older (1990s) titles. Yes, I know this is a preference thing too, but it does add to the variety.
Apart from adding a lot of European content they are obviously continuing to expand their American lines too. Since my last membership they’ve added J.M. Productions, for example.
Overall, this site remains a must-have membership if you like porn DVDs. You can’t please everyone all the time, but this site tries and frequently succeeds.
(Please note that nothing above is intended to apply to the two extra-cost bonus sites. I’ve not had a membership to either and can’t say anything about them.) |

- Added two major sources (Evil Angel and Vivid) accessible only at substantial additional cost.
- Comments have deteriorated into wise guy comments about the screencaps so they are of little real value.
- Significant deterioration in the accuracy of the model identification which creates a serious problem using the search engine.
- More "Bargain Bin" compilation videos that contain scenes that have already been posted earlier on the site. |

OLD Review (1/17/07) Bottom Line:
This site exceeds all possible comparisons to other sites and is a bargain. The occasional obscure weird vids (midgets, hirsute Japanese, trannie) pop up once in a while but so what? The member review section is new and the members haven't figured out what a "review" is because most postings are more like a chat room than an evaluative discussion of the scene or the video.
Great site, great deal. Go for it!
UPDATE (4/2/09) Bottom Line:
The site continues to have the largest number of videos of any site (over 6,000 at this writing) and add 5 per day which is 1,865 new videos per year.
That may be a contributing factor to the deterioration in model identification. The sloppiness in model identification has really made the site a lot less desirable for me because I see the searchability of a site to be very important.
The introduction of Vivid and Evil Angel productions were added with a lot of fanfare but they hit a serious sour note with many when they belatedly added the rather high supplemental charge to access the videos from these studios.
As mentioned in the "Pro" section, the blog is an excellent interactive forum. Management of the site gets into a lot of substantial discussion with the members which is very good.
I reduced my original score from 97 to 90 for two major reasons.
- The significant increase in the sloppiness in model identification is a major annoyance that hurts the site's value.
- The lack of thought given to the roll-out of the two premium studios. (Had they announced the move along with the cost associated at the outset, the reception would have been a lot better.) In my opinion, the roll-out also took their attention away from their number one mission, and that is their primary offerings.
Once again, photo enthusiasts need not apply. There are none. |

90s to early 2000 videos. Not all movies have all of the scenes. I rented some of them and noticed some of the scenes were missing. PREMIUM DVD Plan is a joke, a scam not worth it. Resolution for their highest version to the second best are not different.
Also the site seems to have erased some of the best scenes I've ever seen. Too bad. |

VideoBox doesn't have every scene on the Internet. It doesn't even have every scene on DVD. It does have 28,713 scenes as of right now. 8,859 anal scenes (yay!); 2,629 Asian scenes (not my thing, but may be yours); 2,735 blowjob scenes (not my thing on their own, but whatever); 2,926 teen scenes (yay!) and so on.
You can combine searches. If you want big boobed girls getting DPed, well, you can watch those. If you want to see dominant Asian brunettes (why is beyond me), well there's that too.
You can rate videos, and VideoBox attempts to suggest base on ratings. It's not great, but it's not too shabby either. Other sites should pick this up.
VideoBox's forums are good too. When I'm at other sites I miss being able to read the comments of other pervs. Other sites should pick this up too.
It could definitely use more videos, but it's getting more, each and every day.
Bottom line: get this membership, and a new hard drive. |

For the money this is one of the best bangs for your buck if you enjoy studio released porn. With over 4800 dvd's to chose from there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy and the site is updated daily so there is always something new to see.
I debated giving this site an 88 but felt I was penalzing it for being somethings its not so gave it a 90 as it is a dvd video site and does it well.
I find studio releases extremely boring after a short period of time, but I know some people love them. I enjoy other sites custom made porn scenes which limit the acting and get to the main part.
I certainly think this site is worth joining at the $14.95 price point so you can download the DVD quality versions of the movies. I found the quality difference to be enough to warrant the extra $5.
For me as I prefer more exclusive custom content I'd rather join another site that offers studio dvd movies as bonuses rather than as its main attraction but I know lots of people disagree with me on that. And for those people Video Box delivers what it says. I can see myself joining this site once a year to update my collection of my favorite stars newest movies though. For the price its a win-win situation. |

However, the updates aren't always satisfactory to me, but I understand that's a byproduct of their wide variety and selection. In conclusion, VideoBox is a great bargain and is worth a shot, no matter what type of videos you're into. |

- My download speed from Videobox was APPALLING. Despite getting 700-800kb/s from other websites, I was lucky to get 10kb/s from Videobox for 99% of my membership. That's no typo; TEN kb/s!! The 1% of the time I could get good download speeds was for an hour or two on Saturday and Sunday mornings (GMT). The sum total of one month's membership is that I managed to download a whopping 9 videos, which is clearly dire.
- No refund if you're having problems downloading files. |

I fully appreciate that most people won't have a problem with the download speeds and it's not really fair to rate this clearly outstanding website very low, so I've given it a score of 90.
That said, personally I'll never be rejoining Videobox as it has been a total waste of money for me.
So take this review as a word of warning; if you're in Europe, specifically the UK like me, you may well have extremely slow downloads speeds and they will not refund your money. As can be seen if you read other comments on this website, other people have also had this slow download speed problem. |

Quantity and not quality is the norm here. Much of the older and low caliber stuff needs to be culled. Small collections of BDSM, Mature/MILF and, less so, interracial. High Def video access requires more $$$. Hot porn - BDSM cross over stars such as Claudia Adkins, Lena Ramon, Shannon Kelly, Wenona, etc. are not well represented, if at all. Better films and scenes of hotties like Aurora Snow are not in this collection. |

Reasonably priced video site that has a large video repository of materials for anyone interested in downloading scenes for their personal library. Tough, if not impossible, to download a complete dvd. Would like to see better representation of new stars like Ange Venus, and more enjoyable scenes of those like Harley Raines, especially DP and Anal scenes. Very limited number of compendiums which would provide viewer with more choices of stars. Download speeds could be improved. Would like to see a category for big cocks.
But overall, a big collection of dvds and scenes at a modest cost that is easy to browse and tailor scenes for downloading. |

Good selection of DVDs, Liked the large files 300megs to 500megs per clip. 4 to 5 clips to make a DVD. The server is pretty fast and download managers are allowed to speed up your download. The most I tried to download was 16 clips it took a while but it did download. I'm pretty sure they up date 4 to 5 DVDs per day, about 1 DVD every 4 to 5 hours. And NO download limits. |

This is the first so called DvD site I join and I do miss the exclusiveness sometimes. Even tho there is somethings this sites still can do to Improve. The Sites gives extremely much for the amount money it costs. Others would probably give you same amount Content for 30-40USD. In big databases like this I would love to see more facts about the girls and listings of what ppl think more then rating on the particular scene. Adding your favorite pornstars aswell as your favorite scenes and dvds as you can do.
As suggestion if VideoBox wanted to give us even more today, Would for me to ad even more personality to the site. A way to this maybee do Interwievs with some bigger stars in the bizness. Ore do something like Twistys Monthly Treat. After that the only niche VideoBox doesnt compete with is photo glamour sites. GG

Ive Noticed somethings that lowers my score on VB like you same models content can bee spread over diffrent names, For some weeks ago I had not soo good internet connection download speeds was avarage 30-100kb/s bc of that I was more pickie on what I downloaded of that reason I noticed most of the stuff DVD movies are those movies that doesnt sell ore ppl rents any more and I had hard time finding content that maked me most satisfied. Sure VB:s 3000 dvd collection is impressive but doesnt make them perfect especially when most of isnt that good ore exclusive. I now know where I stand to BigDvD-sites vs Exclusive content sites. I prefer more Exclusive sites |

The really great thing that differentiates Videobox from any other adult site is its interface.
Most sites feature a '90s style, slow, cluttered, non interactive interface that has been designed in a couple of weeks by some bored guy hoping for his task to be over fast so that he could go back playing World of Warcraft.
Videobox, instead, has the most sophisticated interface I've ever seen on a video site.
Movies and scenes are part of an extremely accessible and detailed database. Scenes can be downloaded with a mechanism that allows you to just download the segment of the file that you have previewed that you might be interested in.
Download options are more than enough, and can fit to most kinds of internet connections.
Dvd-quality files are probably the best quality ever seen for videos on a porn site but they are...useless. Each film would often add up to more than a couple of GB if downloaded at the highest quality.
The variety of movies is also a plus: every niche is represented and contains more than one can download in months. |

This is the daddy of all porn sites. With 5 updates every single day at a low low price, the best search engine of any site I have experienced - you can search by title, star or niche - eg maid, fist, etc.
Pretty much every niche is covered in here, and if you can't find it, you can always suggest it!
Another nice touch is you can choose which parts of a scene to download, so you can cut out all the intro and get straight into the action.
Its flaws are few, but it seems that there are a few "filler" DVD's - with vintage, japanese and MILF movies sandwiched between 2 or 3 solid additions every day. Saying that pound for pound this is the best site I have ever subscribed to - which is why 12 months on I still keep subscribing |

Despite some content that is truly uninteresting (to a vast majority of its particular users, I mean), you're getting a ton of well-organized, DRM-free movies for dirt cheap. Virtually every scene on the site has the name of the actress in it, clickable so you can automatically search. Same goes for the studio and the scene's categories. And quality of the video files themseleves is also quite solid -- some of the best I've seen, for the money. I've tried out more than a few of these sites over the years, but I always come back here. Sites like this usually charge twice as much, but they also tend to have a higher standard of quality. |
