I did recently purchase a 500GB HD, and that was porn-driven. As for future purchases, maybe more RAM? Possible.

Keep cleaning both my PC-harddrive (65 Gb) and the extern (300 Gb) harddrive.
Some of those movie-files sure takes up space, but still - some of the GOOD older stuff - I just can't delete - even if I don't watch it much - so maybe even more extern Gb....

Well, it won't be porn-inspired, but porn-related yes. Now that the High Definition format wars have been decided - I'm saving up for an HD capable projector and a Blu-Ray drive. I'm glad that Blu-Ray won, it was the superior format, despite its high entry cost.
Now that I don't have to worry about supporting two disparate formats, I can finally upgrade my projection system to HD. Of course, I don't usually use the projection system I have now for porn viewing - but the point is I could, if the need ever arouse.
I also plan on getting a wide-screen HD capable monitor in the near future as well. Enough sites are switching to HD that it seems silly to still be using a 19" monitor. So I suppose that would be a porn-inspired purchase. Of course a hard drive is always a possibility, but right now I've got about 60GB free - so I'm not hugely worried. Maybe in a month or two. Ah, money money - how I need a money factory...

I can relate completely. Most of the good sites with high resolution videos offer 200-400Mb downloads. Those don't take long to fill up even a 500Gb hard drive.
I've tried using Windows Movie Maker to trim out the garbage from big ones and save just the portions I want but the process downgrades the resolution.
My next purchase will probably be a good video editing software disc that I can use for editing my porn collection.

Since HD-dvd is dead. I do plan on getting my hands on a blue ray player, but i might just buy a Playstation 3 instead of a player alone.

Extra harddrive for sure. Im running low on space, only 10.6 gb empty space left on this computer. My other 250 gb external hard drive is full.

Would like a new carbon-based gyno-unit with at least one available port for navel to navel interface. No floppy-drive necessary.

My next purchase is going to be the components to build a new PC since my current one doesn't support as many SATA drives as I'd like without the use of controller cards and external drives. And it's a nice thought that terabyte drives now cost little more than the 120 gig drives I remember buying several years back : - ) I was going to say that none of this is necessarily porn related but, looking at my collection... well... yeah - it's mostly porn-related.

Good suggestion - if you find a good/not expensive and not very complicated movie-editor - please let me know...

Ditto to what Denner said. I would love to find a decent, reasonably priced movie editor to trim out some of my collection.

Actually, my last purchase was this weekend for a bigger hard drive. The price was amazing for a 1TB drive at the store where employees wear blue.

When you guys talk of editing the movies, may one assume it's strictly for personal use? I ask because I'm pretty sure editing vids from pay sites would be a violation of the copyright and (I'm guessing) against the terms for the various pay sites where you're getting the content.

To those looking for video editting software, my recommendation is Tmpgenc Express 4.0. While it's a tad on the expensive side, it's the only one I've found that handles all the file formats, including wmv. I've also found it to be about the easiset to use. But, be warned, editting video and getting a quality result takes a bit of learning, no matter what program you're using.

Hard drives are the most important part. You can add ram and monitors as it become possible, but you have to have room to keep downloading! I am currently at 24 HDDs. Most over 300 GB and a few 750s. You have to save ALL of your work...you never know when you will want to see that messed up scene again.

Opps. I have bought a 1 TB and 500 GB RAID drive since I posted this. Thus, it proves my stance on the importance of hard drives.
