For me this is a null question as any person with at least moderate common-sense will know not to browse porn sites at work with the volume knob at 10. Frankly you never know when you'll stumble across a pop-up with groaning farm animals and midgets slapping large women with marinated hams (for example). So if the videos autoplay - that really isn't a problem, unless your computer is rubbish and slows everything down, but then who's fault is that?
What I would say though - is I rather love Flash based video previews, they are fast, easy for the computer to handle (even running multiple videos simultaneously) and most of them offer full screen these days as well. I must say that Flash has really come into its own in the past few years and frankly has become quite a dominate force in streaming video. It has even trumped the mighty Windows Media Player - it loads faster, it can look just as good (assuming you are watching videos that don't require your own personal T3 line) and it will even let you skip to whatever part of the video you are interested in and begin buffering there - it's brilliant!

Good point about Flash. Whatever it is, a user wants it quick and friendly. Autoplaying movie samples are fine so long as we don't have to wait through anything we don't care to concentrate on and we are allowed to replay the bits that we choose.
They give us taste of the content, but they're often too poor in image quality. It's hard to tell whether they represent the quality of a downloaded vid. For that one must find a good review of the site that gives us the specs and a well-considered opinion.

I usually do not trust the videos and such posted on the preview pages anyway. With out fail they fall into one of two categories. Either, they look terrible and give a false impression, or they are cherry picked and are the best the site has to offer. Besides that, if I want a video to play I will push play, otherwise it is chewing up my bandwidth loading something I do not want it to. I get pretty annoyed by sites that have music in the back ground too because I usually have music playing on my computer so turning the speakers off would not be a good of an option for getting rid of the midget smacking a fat woman with a chicken leg while screwing a goat noises that pop up!

I have found the auto play videos usually to be of poor quality. I usually leave the site because the choice of video that the web master uses usually is a turn off. Some girl faking and screaming...please

I won't say I can't stand it, but usually I find most autoplaying videos to be very annoying and a sign to go elsewhere.
Also - I didn't know they were filming and the girl wasn't that large. And the ham was smoked - not marinated.

I'd prefer to be able download preview videos, anytime. Autoplay is annoying, 'cause you don't know what kind of quality or even if the shit hits the fan and make trouble with your browser...

Wizened porn users know that autoplaying videos don't necessarily represent quality, good or bad, since poor quality could just be, ironically enough, an attempt by the site to save on bandwith while great quality might not reflect the bulk of what's inside once one ponies up for a subscription.
The best autoplaying stuff is non-distracting, such as the small vid window on European Glamour Girls or Erotic Destinations, the latter of which used to have autoplaying music which, sorry to say, I didn't want to hear.
I doubt that any of it makes or breaks a site. Very few of the sites I regularly return to have anything autoplaying.
The only exception for me is once getting into Babelicious, there is (was?) an ad animation of Sandra Kalermen shaking her booty. "Awww, that's distra-- oooh, that's NICE." ;)

I think its not annoying, because I dont browse porn sites with full soundvolume. So I agree with Toadsith. But I would find it better if there would be flash movies that start playing after you pressed the play-button.

I really dislike it which is one reason I use Firefox. I can disable flash animations or these movies.

I like them - quite a bit. I'm not going to surf for porn at work. I've had to report people to their managers when they were doing that stupid shit in a dept full of women - it's begging for a lawsuit otherwise. I guess I've been lucky in finding the ones that I've run across to be quite decent quality. If not, I probably wouldn't care for them. It'd be downright stupid for a webmaster to post a crappy-looking auto-play vid on their site. It'd be like naming their site "Poor Quality Porn 4 You"

Surfing porn at work is really asking for trouble, so it's something I never do. Only one time did I see another person doing it -- a woman. I didn't bother to report that as it didn't offend me.

For me it's about as annoying as a pop-up ad (or a banner which has flashing). And i HATE pop-up ads and flashing banners.
Visually the best-looking are Flash previews which start playing when clicking on it, but on the other hand I'm into downloads and not into streaming, and Flash previews can't possibly show video quality of downloads.
