What to do if your credit card got charged

Disclaimer: it's just my VERY humble opinion, FWIW.

If you didn't join some site but your credit card got charged - DON'T HESITATE TO CALL YOUR BANK AND INITIATE DISPUTE ABOUT THE CHARGE. As I was told in a similar situation by a banking manager, most likely not only you will get your money back, but also if number of disputes exceeds certain threshold, merchants will get HUGE fines (so they will start losing money on their own fraud), or even can get their license revoked. Therefore, DISPUTING FRAUDULENT CHARGES HELPS NOT ONLY YOURSELF, BUT COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE.

This announcement was a public service :-).

badandy400 (0) That is a very good point that I forgot about. Credit card processors only allow a certain number of charge backs per month to a vendor before they either fine them or boot them off. This is to prevent people from consistent ripping people off. This is why more vendors want to refund your money rather than make you fight it. They hate to see the money go, but it is better than having a large number of charge backs. It is a mechanism to help protect customers.

The issue here is that I am not sure if all the charges come from the same company. The cross sales could come from different account to protect the company from the results of fraud prevention.

Thank you asmith for this comment post. I am glad it has been said, only sorry I did not think to post it earlier.

jd1961 (0) Excellent advice. I only had to do this once, sometimes it's the only way these kind of sites will learn.

Lionheart (0) This happen to me, what I did was I called my bank I canceled my card right away, then I asked to get a new card with different numbers, just to make sure no other charges will be made on the card, then asked for an investigation on the rouge charge. If you don't keep a close eye on your accounts you will never know when I new membership will show up.

PaulCS (Suspended) My Name is Paul and I am the customer service manger for the IncrediblePass sites. We initially tested cross sales on our join pages and many people may have inadvertently signed up for other offers. It is for that reason that we have removed all cross sale offers from the join pages if you sign up with the best porn. We pride ourselves in customer satisfaction and would like everyone to be happy and apologize to anyone that may have had any difficulty whatsoever!

Jay G (Disabled) Good point that everyone who buys on the internet should know! Online industries can't allow misrepresentation and deceptive practices. Fortunately credit cards are under legal responsibility to allow disputes on false charges as you pointed out.

As far as this site is concerned, I still see customers complaining here as of 5/5/2008.

Have you tried to call your bank and say that you tried to contact merchant to cancel and weren't able to? Usually it helps.
