While I don't count the cost of the membership into my reviews, the truth of the matter is it sometimes plays a major factor in deciding what sites I join. I keep a listing of sites I'm planning on joining - and usually the cheaper ones get joined quicker. So the discounts are really helpful by making sites financially accessible and always appreciated!

I counted thirteen different sites I've joined thanks to the "BestPorn" discounts. I've since burned out on quite a few of them, but I'll be back to danni and also to Twistys at some point, thanks to the lower prices. Some of them have run their course (includes the Eve/Lora/Mya triage), and some are not good enough even with the discount (Ron Harris, Mac&Bumble, and probably Earl Miller).

Harris is a tremendously disappointing site IMO. I did give Danni a try with the discount when I wouldn't ordinarily have joined.

I definitely look at the discount when considering what sites to join.

I admit I'm a sucker for a deal. When there's a site that I'm jazzed about based on PU reviews and I see a special discount, I sign up. The best part is that the discount usually holds past the first month making the savings really significant.

A lot more than 10 over the past years.
And way too many where the result is just plain disappointment.
Normaly - like in cars, tv's pc's or whatever the rule is: you get what you pay for - discount or not.
That I've found some few, great sites on discount-basis at TBP/PU is an exeption to the rule. And if there are PU-reviews, I always read them all before joining.
Some ok deals: Twistys, Danni, Babelicious, Teen Dreams, Eve Angel, Only 3X, Mya Diamond and Secret Virgin.

Yes, a TBP score of 87.6 for the Harris site is definitely putting the ratings into inflationary territory. The PU average score of 76.3 is closer to a real market correction. My experience there -- and I've been enough of a doof to join more than once -- kept bringing to mind the work "hack."
The PU reviews tend to reflect that, to which I may add or echo difficult navigation, broken links, hot babes but meager photo selections, and even the photography; though it qualifies as "glam," doesn't make it since there's blurriness, poor lighting, stupid crop jobs, and cookie-cutter aesthetics. No one in "Ron Land" seems to give a shit about making sure that their site is user friendly and free of obvious mistakes that rip off subscribers. The money's gonna come in, anyway, right?
Some folks do seem to like it, though. They probably eat out of microwaves.

Never figured out that Ron Harris-site.
It's more like fetish than glam - and still none of those.
Most videos are close-ups of a girl using a toothbrush (electric, of course) or maybe a hairbrush - no elegance, no finesse.
Though very short - I agree with the review from Douggie:
Quote:
"I didnt feel he did his videos for his viewers. Almost like bubble girls, he did them just as much for himself (his own jollies) as he did for concerns that the video would be what people would pay to see."

I've joined probably a half dozen using the discounts. I've only had a couple bad experiences and joined a couple, like Brazzers and Suze, that I probably would not have gone to without the discount.
I'm simply waiting for all my favs to offer discounts ;)

I can't count the number of sites I have joined that have a TBP discount on them. I have a few months out of the year where I am not on my regular porn rotation, where I go to sites that I have been to and know that I like. In those months, almost everything I join are the sites with TBP discounts. I even go directly to the link on TBP for the special discounted sites to see if any new ones have been added. I would estimate over 20 for me.

The discounts are a great addition. I have saved good money on sites that have discounts. I frequently look through the sites that have discount simply because it is cheaper. Everyone wants more bang for their buck. Normally if I am torn between joining two sites I will end up with the cheaper one first.
I have noticed though that a lot of times the discount offered here is the same price the site gives when you go to cancel any the offer you a good deal to stick around. But, I can not complain one bit because it saves us the trouble of having to pay more for the first month at least.
As for Ron Harris, I was not over impressed either. Mac & Bummble pisses me off because they charge an extra $40 for access to the zips, at least they did a year or so ago.

Who doesn't like discounts? I've joined a number of sites with the PU discount - at times I've been looking for a new site to try and have just started looking through the discounted sites to find one to try. It's fun.

You know, I guess it is more of a fetish site, at least fairly often. And finessee is required, no? I'm not a fetish fan, but isn't it an art to do it well? I'd think so, IMH(and not-all-that-informed)O.
When I think fetish, I first think of that very light-skinned brunette from several years ago. She was a playmate, I think, and showed up at Mac&Bumble and Lisa Boyle's site, and I think she had her own. Can't remember the name now. Anyway, she was an artist at it. And I think she gets on TV sometimes here in the US.
And then of course there's the Suze Randall site, which has had quite an artistic approach to sets and outfits and makeup. But I only joined for the ass. That's not a fetish ... is it? Not unless there's a lit cigarette sticking out or something, right?

Yeah, that Mac and Bumble crap really pissed me off, too. First, I got the discount from TBP, then I find out that access to zips runs that extra $40. Forty damn dollars! If that isn't the old bait-and-switch. It was in 2006, too.
Haven't been back. Won't BE back! As for their zip files of their dinky little 1067 pixel photos, I could suggest some rather creative backup storage options.

Let's look at this analytically. The operating costs of a website are small relative to the fixed costs. (Variable costs are those that change based on the volume of business and fixed costs are the same regardless of the volume of business.)
The variable costs are the upload bandwidth and the credit card discounts. The fixed costs are the content development and maintenance costs.
That means most of the price of membership flows to the site's profits (bottom line) so the site that you wouldn't join at $29.99 but will join at $19.99 using the TBP discount yields close to $18.00 in profits, which would not be there without the discount.

Honestly i liked a lot of their pictures, I just wish I had a copy of them BEFORE the butchered them with heavy airbrushing. They air brush to the point of it looking like it was painted rather than photographed.
In a perfect world a webmaster who pulled that dirty trick of hiding fees would be shot. Fortunately, for the webmaster, it is not a perfect world. But, we can refuse to pay the fee. Using Download Them All for Firefox I believe would do the trick for downloading the photos without buying the zips. This would take a little extra time, but not too much. Certainly not $40 worth of time! This made me wish I was not a picture lover...I could have saved good money.
PS...Why the hell did this get posted in here! This post is for my comment about Mac&Bumble and the zip file fee.

I use to alot. I love the discounts and look out for them every time I go on TBP. But honestly, lately all the discounted sites are all bad large network sites with like 50 sites, that I have no interest in. I miss the solo sites, and highly rated ones.

Yeah, the hair looks like cotton candy, and their bodies look like they're made of pastel-painted Lucite.

I think it all comes down to a cautionary tale of how all that's cut price is not cheap. M&B is a prime example.

The reason I was wondering why it posted where it did is because it did not post my reply to you under my comment about M&B, but rather it was posted under a pole question's reply section.

I love discounts. Price is important to me as I don't have an unlimited budget. I want to join everything but that is not practical.
