marquis58401 (0) Probably because the average subscriber doesn't renew after the first month. If I'm "average" then like me they probably download as much of the content (if not all of it) in the first month and then don't renew. With that in mind, I understand why they may want to charge more for that first month - I don't like it when they do it, but I can understand the rationale. Also, by charging less in subsequent months it may give some subscribers the feeling that they're getting a better deal giving them a stronger motivation to keep the subscription.

turismo (0) I don't object to the extra cost in month 1, but
maybe webmasters should ask themselves why we only sign up for 30 days.
I have been with videobox for well over a year, because they keep the content coming.
Why pay an extra $30 for a site when you know you will only be getting another 4 updates? I certainly wouldn't pay $7.50 per update, it doesn't represent value for money.
To keep people subscribing month in, month out, you need to be able to post daily content, have a forum where users can interract with each other, have a top notch support desk to help with problems, and maybe the casual surfer like myself would stick around.
However, for a number of sites, this is too much effort and so they are content with the new subscribers, or those forgetful souls that get hit for another month because they forgot to cancel, and lets be honest thats why most sites only let you sign up on a recurring basis, in the hope that you forget to cancel

roseman (Suspended) Prolly because most users just sign up for a month, get the content that they like and then cancel. The webmasters/owners must understand that they have to find a way to keep their customers '' alive '', like updating their sites sooner and with GOOD updates and not put download limits or other tricks to keep them in tight. These things make people leave.

PinkPanther (0) While I understand the reason that site-owners charge more the first month - because so many people join for one month only - I think the smarter site-owners and the ones that are more satisfaction-oriented will do things that reward people that stay longer with things like higher-res zip sets (Karen Dreams) or more bonus sites (DP Fanatics).

I like sites that reward members for sticking around with more than just $5 less after 1 month.

Drooler (Disabled) The basic thought is always "This had better be worth it!" Very, very few sites update often enough with good enough content to merit maintaining a subscription past the usual 30 days. Even those that do should be smart enough to offer extended subscriptions at substantial discounts on a per month average.

Many of even the better sites get subscribed to, totally raided, left alone for a few months, and then reconsidered.

If, however, a site has shown incompetence, deception, or "breakdown," then their only hopes are
1. the volume of potential new subscribers will offset the risk of their having pissed off so many people already
2. said pissed off people won't tell all at PornUsers!

But why wouldn't they?

Gazette Risque (0) It's pretty obvious. Logical even.

Everyone downloads more in the first month. More bandwidth costs more.

But it shouldn't be too much.

It'd be fun if you'd get some money back if you stay a member for more than one month.

nygiants03 (0) I'm one to download alot the first month and I rarely rejoin, because if I like the site, I can rejoin a year later and get all the stuff I missed, so I save money. However once in a while I just join like a 5 month or 3 3 month non recurring plan, because the site is great. The only sites I have done that for are ftv girls and abby winters.

Schnitzel (0) Yeah, I can understand why.
I confess to downloading loads in the first month then usually cancelling my rebill so from the webmasters point of view, it's logical.

ramscrota (Suspended) As sated before, most subscribers (like me) cancel after a month, unless the site's effing good. A lower chatrge after month 1 is a reward for those who stay

Homegirl (Disabled) Many sites offer a break for joining if you stay just one month.
